Just to add my thoughts....
I feel for him. He has spent all of his career at barca given so much to the club and at the age of 33 who could blame him for a change & chance to play elsewhere. Yet still he has the credibility to stick it out and out of respect to barca he doesnt have any intention of making it a legal dispute.
Barca from a business point of view are missing a big opportunity as his contract expires in less than a year and they then get Nothing. End of a season means end of a season. Can you imagine by barca's reckoning, if messi had said he wanted to leave by the due date, they would have simply moved the goalposts (No pun intended) and said the season isnt finished yet. Damned if he does, Damned if he dont.
