i didn't see the match, but i suspect it was a case of scared to death boy -ish attitude that lead to everything going downhill.
too bad the first good season RvP had since a long time has been in vain, fluffed by his teammates.
at least if it hadn't been against stoke, not stoke...
p.s.: their manager's name in romanian = dicks.
 
coming from an injury he's gotten into form late in the season. makes me think what if he partnered up front with a tall, strong center forward that can help him with space, turning ball to him, etc.
i saw his goal, and he had an expression that's hard to describe, but seemed like: i'm the only man around here, have to do this by myself... just frustrated at the situation, but certainly at his teammates.

it's depressing.

the badge says forward, but should be nowhere really...

He's a World Class player no question unfortunately he's been injured for most of his career otherwise he'd he regarded as good as Drogba and Rooney.
 
In wenger we trust right guys?

I bet RVP is the one to go this summer and not fabregas. shocks and surprises will happen in our side this summer.

Todays game was a piece of shit performance by arsenal.

apparently, Seaman appreciates Fabianski and Szczesny. the latter is way more reliable though.
Mexes is off to Milan. we've missed a good, not great, but good defender. so Wenger could have brought him, he's freaking French too.
i've never been the type to jump to conclusions or to swiftly march on harsh positions, but to be honest i am loosing my faith in Wenger. this summer he needs to make great changes in the team, in the club, in him.
i have agreed in earlier weeks that this team is not far off from being great, BUT it's apparent now that although the potential is certainly there it is irrecoverably underachieving.

sagna's too nice label is not valid just for the defence it's valid for the midfield because we don't fight enough to intercept balls and stop opposition early, it's valid for attack too - how many chances, sitters have been wasted in front of our screaming open shocked eyes.

i know arsenal isn't amongst the traditional greats of england or the world. it is amongst the great but there are quite some clubs better and bigger. but it isn't a medium club either. but (again) excuses like we did good enough, players prefer other teams, we will someday get there are the ones that make you medium, they are the ones that stop you in your tracks. sure, arsenal isn't entitled to anything, but settling for less and not wanting something like you can touch it, like you think it's already yours you actually fight to keep it, like no other man, person or group are more worthy to it than you is not going to make arsenal truly compete because there will always be someone that will be willing to put more in the fight. be it money, urgency, heart, or brains. we didn't have the money to buy stars or they don't want to come to us? but make it clear in your head that this talented, skillful team should fight twice as much just to compensate for that alone. (i will stop, i might be incoherent).

As you say he is a good defender, how much is he going for? and who would you rather go to Milan the current Italian Champions or us? even if we did buy him the price would be over inflated. If we brought him in January it would have been overinflated and would he even want to go to us? people jsut seem to think these players will jump at a chance to play for us? doesn't work like that.

I don't think we are too nice, I just think we are soft in the head. It's all mental. If we had half the spirit and mentality of Man United this season we would have stormed through.

Also did someone put up the table if goals that hit the woodwork went in? I think we were first weren't we? not that it means alot, but there is a thin line between scoring and not. Also from what I said before there has been many games where the opposition goalkeeper has had a stormer against us. So chances and scoring obviously it is a problem, but not major.

I'm not saying we are great, we need to get rid of the deadwood and strengthen with quality and experience. I don't think we need alot of players just a select few. We need to get rid of this mentality, it is our biggest weakness.

People are writing us off already for next season (falling out of the top 4), I think I have heard that for the last 3-4 seasons? apparently Spurs are going to get better and us worse? I don't see how people make those conclusions? if Spurs don't get into Europe, who the hell is going to want to go there? Also Harry is one of the greatest managers in the prem apparently? yet he has gone backwards in every respect this season, except for the run in the champs league (which was good).

I haven't lost faith with Wenger, but he must admit that some of the players he had faith in are not working and he must address this, this summer. If he doesn't, then I will start to question what Wenger is doing. He needs to be alot harder on the team in general, if they have a bad game, go fucking mental and let the whole world know it. Don't give excuses and try and explain it away.
 
mexes would rightly prefer Milan, i was thinking more in the past seasons. that's why i said we're not amongst the biggest. i was thinking we have no chance if a team like Bayern would go for the same player like us. but sometimes you have to want more than squilacci's (not that he's no good, he is what he is decent. the defence as a hole is what's failing more).

mental fragility, niceness call it what you want we aren't fighting enough. the players just don't work for the ball enough. sometimes i noticed a (somewhat justified) fear of going into takles hard.

the statistics might hurt and it's true goalkeepers had good games, but don't you think we made the opposition look great for numerous times. i'm talking about not fooling around with fancy play and scoring the simple or easy chances. as much as the defence is too blame, the attack is not that effective either.

bringing loads of players would not help even if they were good, but we don't have citeh money to buy as such. some good starters would do.

i wouldn't worry about spurs much, man city yes. but arsenal won't go out of the top 4 for sure. not with what has and is expected to happen in summer.

on top of persisting with some problems, he can't seem to make the squad work. it seems the players are not affected by him at all. this is what is worrying because he did try to solve problems bringing defenders (might argue not very good ones), filling in departures (nasri, arshavin, etc.). the fucking excuses is what drives the fans mad. they accompanied by repeating identical mistakes, followed by excuses. they make up an image of nothing being done about the situation.

sure, in hard times the flaws seem expanded. the team might just need some adding and some shaking of their mentality. but after so many years of shockingly similar failures you have to ask whether Wenger can do the job. because he might have well conceded he was wrong to a degree and add the right players, release the wrong ones, and work on the squads mentality in increments each summer, each year. earlier.
it's late and now, this summer there has to be a decider.

I agree with most of that :))

But the making other teams look great, I don't agree with.

Most of the games we have lost we have been better in all respects. But people lick the other teams arse if they stop us from scoring and beat us (or just beat us).

Only games we have lost and deserved it were West Brom at home, Stoke at the weekend and Barcelona (of course). The other times we have dominated in all respects, the other team just caught us on the break, or they defended for their lives and got lucky.

There is definately a problem, but to say we make other teams look great is silly, its just that the media licks the other teams arses because they manage to beat us. Like the Birmingham League cup final. We were better than them (not by much granted). But after the match it was as if they slaughtered us all over the pitch and so much deserved the win, which just isn't true in footballing terms (but I do agree they showed alot more heart than us).

We shouldn't be losing these games ESPECIALLY at home, but I cannot agree that we make the other teams look great :))
 
I've lost faith in wenger. he simply fails to deliver and improve himself season after season and if he does sweet fuck all in improving this team then how people can still have faith in him is behond me.

If he doesnt do anything this summer, you might as well label next season as a write off
 
You won't drop out the top 4 Bobby, BUT their is definitely a common theme of Arsenal standing still and maybe even going backwards next year. If Fabregas goes then unless you sign 3-4 players to improve the first team as a whole you'll be weaker. I could be wrong and you keep Cesc and Wenger brings in players who improve you but recent history says thats less likely than what I think will happen.

no i don´t think mate..

this season each team made mistakes..it´s just matter of luck for United to be champions this season after how Chelsea started...

this season even Ferguson admited is most though ever... and there was just little, very little difference between the top spots even in later months of the season..

you still can play a great football without having the squad as City or Chelsea on paper...

you have young squad, mix it with 2 - 3 great signings and you are ok...

I suggest you need to invest to a top CB and maybe LB + top class CF...

ALSO, sell Fabregas.. it´s better for you and for him to concentrate on future..you have Ramsey, Song, Wilshere - add to that, add to forwards, sell some under performers and you will again fight for title and for CL imo..
