well said Bobby........Liverpool and Spurs have both shown how easy it is dropping out of that top 4 and out of the champs league.
Arsenal have spent much less than both of these clubs and consistantly get into the top 4 and later stages of the champs league. We usually are in contention for alot of competitions but then fall away dramatically.
Arsene gambled on youth that not only himself thought could be world beaters, they didn't fulfil their potential and we are in the situation we are in now.
...Wenger has made a few bad judgement calls that we can slam him for after hindsight, but he has to realise now that mistakes were made and a new approach must be sought, if he doesn't then he will be out.
I still don't think the 6 years without a trophy were a complete disaster and merit all of the critisism being thrown at us. But I do think we could have reacted to situations better and sooner.
If the next few months are managed well, then we will be fine, but there is a thin line between failure and success.
wenger has definitely made some bad calls in the last few years (but then again Conrad said "It's only those who do nothing that make no mistakes"), but like u say, there's a thin line between success and failure, and arsene has not crossed that line yet, as arsenal is still, by all means, a top club (although i realise some "overly dramatic" arsenal fans tend to believe otherwise).i don't know mate. to be fair arsene seems to be dealing with an enourmous ammount of pressure.... i'd say more than any other premiership coach today. and we can't really tell how confortable he feels about this situation, as we don't know what happens "behind the curtains".Drekkard said:The situation as it is, it seems Wenger is too comfortable with transfers funds being denied and having no pressure at all to win, because after all... they didn't give me the funds

the fact that he never bictched about his transfer funds speaks for his integrity and his respect for the club, if anything...... most coaches would easily drop their responsabilities and blame it on the lack of funds.... or even move to a richer club (it's not like arsene didn't have great offers from top clubs in the last few years afterall).... i like this aspect of wenger.
arsene had to take lots of shit (even from arsenal fans themselves) in the last few years... sure he's stubborn as hell... but at least he never hides himself behind silly excuses.
and although arsenal certainly aren't as "big" as they were some years ago (when they had plenty of great players).... and although arsene certainly has some responsability in this "exodus", arsenal still remains among the 10 best clubs in the world... and that is by all means "top club" region.

I must say the horse placenta took longer than expected
I'll have to be sure cause the media screws things up but if he did, I'll start to believe the idea that Barcelona is behind this. It just doesn't make sense that a player who is representing his country at Copa America talks like this about this subject.
