honestly that's now true Bobby but I just don't trust Wenger anymore, your a better side than your currently showing the problem is if you continue to pidgeon hole the team to play a certain way it's going to make you look worse.

Time to change your style of play and be less pretty and get results.
 
I dont think it is necessarily time to change the style, just time to be able to defend!

We are having the chances that need to be put away, if we are getting plenty of chances then our style can't be too wrong. We just need to keep goals out, this is our main problem at the moment.
 
I just saw the match, Arsenal conceded 4, yes but one was a blatant off-side (Yakubu's second), one was unlucky own-goal (Song, until then by far the best player on the pitch) and another was a very silly owngoal (Koscielny, god he was bad today, very, very bad).

If Gervinho had passed to Van Persie then Arsenal would have led 3-1 and the match was played.

This comes at a bad time, but it is not really alarming...bad luck against a team that was last, but played a good match.

On the other hand i saw huge weaknesses: Koscielny was Apocalypse Now. André Santos had a bad day or otherwise is a very average left back and not the man a club like Arsenal need (and if you see Clichy playing with Man City...).

Gervinho showed a lack of football intelligence and Arshavin was rather indifferent. Chamakh should play more frequently.
 
Of course it's bloody alarming, gerd. Only Southampton in 1998/99 and Derby in 2007/08 have conceded more goals than Arsenal after the first five Premier League games.
 
We're actually making Blackburn look good! To concede 4 against them is very poor. This puts things in perspective. Now conceding 8 against Man Utd doesn't seem too absurd. There's something obviously very wrong with our defending. What hurts the most is that SCZC is a fantastic keeper who didn't deserve to be conceding so many goals. It won't look good on him, even if he's very confident, every player has a breaking point and this could affect his confidence.

It's time we got back to 4-4-2. We don't have the players to play a Barcelona-like style and even though we're loaded with wingers, it's not working. Chamakh finally scored in an open play when RVP moved to the flank and put in one of his great crosses. This happens a lot, except most of the time he does that when he's the sole CF and Chamakh's not there and only our 5'6 wingers are on the end of those crosses.
AW should be playing RVP alongside Chamakh or Arshavin or Walcott, more central.
Once more: Arshavin is a forward. He's been deployed on the left wing and being expected to track back a lot and help defense. He doesn't do that often and when he does, he concedes a free kick, like the one to our 1st own goal. He simply doesn't know how to defend, he will be clumsy with tackles. He's 30, too old to for AW to mould, he's a finished article already. AW should've known better.
Speaking of not defending well, the same applies to André Santos. He goes forward well, puts in good crosses but a defender he is not. I said already how I'm not too excited about him. He's poor at defending and played Yakubu onside for both goals.

The way things are going now, it looks as though we've just lost a big 6 pointer in a fight against relegation :(

EDIT: just saw a replay of Yakubu's 2nd and he was offside indeed

still not end of the season, but as LFC supporter sersiously i have hopes we will grab that 4 spot.. since currently 3 teams are untouched and 3 teams have to fight over that 4 spot..

if you need a new coach.. i know it´s hard for some fans to admit it, but seriously Wenger did nothing with this kids generation that needed to grow, it´s his second started kid´s generation now... that might be sold out in some years again at age of 23 - 24..

i think now it´s not the time to discouse transfers... this is bad time for arsenal fans.. but, i realy do think it´s last Wenger season at the club..if you won´t move forward again..
 
bloody HELL! What does RVP need to do to get service. OG are harsh but 2! ffs . Andres is not that bad as some will say, doesn`t look confident yet. He is a strong bloke Chamahk looked good today. So going forward we need to be more lethal and break up the play in the middle more. Ramsey had more disappointing passes then good ones.

there is a question though, why did they played with a C-team by the time they should have a strong team with preseason together..

they imo left everything for last minute.. even if the players they bought are good players..

You really need to get your eyes tested Jonney and your brain if you think I have said any of these, especially frequently!

I have never said he is the best manager ever or that we play the best football in the world :DD

We are suffering from buying players late and them settling in, we should have sorted things out way WAY before. We will get much better over the course of the season. We need to get much MUCH better defensively.

Anyway I'm not going to defend the team, it was an extremely dissapointing result.

lol ok i was a bit of a dumb fool saying that but i'l edit as what i actually mean is that is what a lot of arsenal fans say. How wenger is the best man for the job and because of him we play the best football in the world.

I think you will find it hard for any Arsenal fan to say we play the best football in the world?

I still think he is the best man for the job, but he made a monumental cock up in the summer by getting the players in so late. It has resulted in our worst start ever and it is ridiculous! but I do think we are definately going to get much better.

If we were completely crap, ie got battered by Blackburn, then I would be probably saying we might need a new manager. But we weren't we were just very very poor at defending. This needs to be sorted ASAP, our defenders are nervous wrecks at the moment. If we get this half sorted, then we are going to do alot better. Merts and Verm looked very good together, but we need decent back up and Koscielny is just too inconsistant and only seems to play his best with Verm.

Anyway again the team and the manager need to do alot better, need good wins against Shrewsbury, Bolton and Olympiacos all at home in the next few matches to build confidence back up again in time for Spurs away and need to get a result against Tottenham at White Hart lane, if we don't and they hump us, then I will go into hiding :DD

Yeah I am looking forward to seeing the ox and a few others playing, hopefully our new Korean striker aswell.
