I just don't get how football associations work, they make the most stupid rules ever.

Why can't retrospective punishment be for everything?

Most people realise refs can't get all decisions right, they are human of course, so there should be a panel that rights the wrongs of the refs after it has happened....at the very least for violent conduct.

I just can't understand how a ref or a linesman saw that Ballotelli challenge and didn't even give him a yellow! :SHOCK: that just shows how messed up the system is.

I understand if they do retrospective punishments for on the ball actions it could open up a can of worms...maybe, but they just need to put down clear rules (Like mainly on violent actions etc). I think they are just too stupid to do so, or can't be bothered.

Football associations seem to do whatever they want when they want and it is becoming ridiculous.

Add that with the continual fines and bans for Arsene Wenger being much more than a whole club gets, when their fans are seen as racist, you know that something just isn't right in all of these organisations.

Really is depressing, seeing the hypocrisy and ineptitude of these footballing bodies :((

Those "memes" proliferate like a disease, it's obvious people will make fun of him after Arsenal beat City and especially because he said bad things about the Arsenal fans. The idiot had it coming.
With all that background, it's insanity not to expect any sort of hostility from Arsenal fans on the stadium and the Internet. To blame fans is a bit rich IMO. Crowd behaviour is one thing and will always be like that, regardless of the Club. But the "professional" footballer is the one who should be careful with what he says to the press.

Enough about bloody Nasri. Let's move on.

A team that wants to be champions can't loose to QPR? Maybe that's true. No wonder why the ref and linesman made sure United would beat them, by: a) awarding a penalty to a blatant dive; b) by a player who was offside; c) sending off the man who barely touched Young on the shoulder and reducing QPR to 10 men still early in the 1st half.

Roll on tomorrow at Wolves. Hope we can take all 3 points there.

Norwich and Fulham did us favours and hopefully we will make the most of it. Plus, now I really want Newcastle to overtake Chelski and Sp*rs. That would be justice to a team who's been doing sound business buying the likes of Ba and Cisse for much less money than other's expenditures and generally punching above their weight.

well said mate. fully agree. nasri is a fucking twat and like i said before, other ex arsenal players have never been booed by arsenal fans. That is because they moved and dealt with it in the professional manner.

Nasri diddnt. his a fucking knobhead.

Anyways about Balotteli. what a fucking joke mate. the fa/uefa are quick to suspend our players and manager over little things but if its others who do far worse they get away scot free. i guarantee you that if Song was the one who made that tackle instead, he would have been banned for life knowing the fa.

I don't think it is necessarily against Arsenal (Although the Wenger thing seems a bit of a witch hunt)

But just in general, they punish someone for doing something, then the next person doesn't get punished for it.

Or someone does something minor and gets a bigger punishment than another major incident.

It just seems like they make it up as they go along.

I don't think it is a coincidence that refs seem to be getting poorer with the more protection they have when they do anything wrong. They need to be held accountable and if they make mistakes, then they should be able to be rectified after the game. It is common sense.

I think refs should get paid alot more and with that, should be more open to interviews and explaining their actions and if they are good refs, they are able to sit down with a panel and right any wrongs that they have done, especially when they miss a violent action or deleting a red card when it has been seen that it was not etc.

They need a re write of their rules and regulations (all footy associations) to make it clearer and then stick to them.

It is all a farce at the moment.

I think all football teams in the relevant associations should get together and demand a clearer fairer system at the moment it just doesn't work and creates alot of hostility.

If Martin Atkinson really saw that and didn't do anything about it then he has shit for brains.
Pretty much everybody agreed that was a leg breaker foul. It is a straight red in any country.

Unbelievable that they banned Ballotelli for that incident with Scott Parker, which looked more like an accident than anything, and now overlook this stamp on Song.

Retroactive punishment only for off-the-ball incidents? To me it's just an excuse to do what you want, when you want, just like you say Bobby.

As for UEFA, their problem is intolerance, intransigence and maybe even a bit of vanity. Reminds of a dictatorship. For UEFA, the worst crime is criticism, someone questioning decisions. For that they hand out 3-match bans and fines that are twice more than the ones for racism.
Oh, and they have a problem with Wenger. Yes, it's personal.

Things really are upside down, aren't they? Ballotelli gets away with that challenge, while that QPR defender got a straight red for so much as brushing Ashley Young's shoulder.
QPR were going to appeal, but probably the outcome will be negative, as the associations see their referees as entities with God given powers of infallible judgement.

The way I see it things are fucked up everywhere. FA, UEFA, FIFA. Corrupts have taken over everywhere.
 
Hate to break it to people, but 99% of football fans think the world is against their club. I know that might come as a shock to some of you, but it's true.
 
1% is Manchester United. ;) Well atleast the non-biased fans who know they have some very lucky decisions.
 
Well,neither will fans except ref have been fortunate towards their clubs. There`s a certain club that deny a clear pen to the opposing team,then a week later gave them a pen that wasn`t. Ppl say certain clubs really do well towards the 2nd half, while getting calls that benefit their cause.

It`s really bad timing or the pressure w/ some ref is just baffling. On other news Chels defender Ivan got a match ban, and Chief ref gave an apology to Martinez for saying the refs were disgusting . Wenger would most likely get ban in my honest opinion. At the Emirates he was charged :SHOCK:
 
Yeah and the refs were trying to favour the team now in 2nd place too, but they forgot how to take advantage of it, (Penalty not given to Stoke, a certain eccentric Italian not being sent off till very late in the Arsenal game).

Anyway, there's no need to get defensive, I wasn't singling out Arsenal fans at all, just pointing out football fans tend to be hypocrites and I include myself in that.

Although I am amazed Arsenal haven't been awarded a single penalty at Home this year, then again we only had 2 awarded at home last season.

Wilko in case you felt somehow affected by my post about the diving incident, have in mind that I was comparing QPR's defender (Derry) sending off to "The Ballotelli Show" on Sunday. I'm just pointing out the contrast between those cases and wonder what might go in the player's head after such injustice.

QPR had their appeal rejected by the FA just now. That means that even based on clear video evidence, the referees decisions on the pitch are written in stone.

The sheer arrogance, the incapability of admitting mistakes and rectifying injustices and basically bending the rules to whatever they want to do. This sickens me.

Manchester United might have had many decisions gone their favour (this season QPR penalty and 3-3 draw at Chelsea for instance), but there are a few times when they get the wrong end of the stick too, such was that case when Rooney got suspended for being caught by a camera saying the "f" word... that fucking puzzles me to this day, that they went out of their way to hand a 3 match ban for that?!
 
I was just making a jokey comment really, wasn't aimed at anyone, just football fans in general, I just happened to say it in the Arsenal forum :P

I stand by what I said though, the majority of football fans think their team is victimised unfairly and will have formed that opinion in a period where they were particularly unlucky, like Arsenal have been lately I guess.

Funny you should bring that up, because at that point in time, many many United fans felt the FA had an agenda against them. The media attention on Rooney at that point almost certainly effected the FA's decision to ban him and that's probably been the case more than a few times down the years with their decision making.

Yes, the media blew it out of proportion at the time, much like they did with some other things. Strange that they did it to Rooney, who is an important figure to the National Team. Because Terry racism case went much quieter than Suarez's, for example. And I thought it happened because he was the captain of the National Team.

I fully agree with what beachryan said in the Premier League thread about the FA being a bunch of incompetent and corrupt suits who are ran by the media.

Oh that Atkinson thing, if he really said he saw the incident and claimed full responsibility, then he should be punished by the FA for his poor performance - if only the FA was a serious institution.

I saw the game on a dodgy streaming website, it had Mexican commentators who were discussing that kind of sending off. I have to agree with what they said, which is that it always spoils the game. I mean, the last man foul is a rule welcomed when the defender is out to stop the attacker at all costs to avoid the worst, the so called professional foul. These cases are the deliberate ones. But as for other cases, does it have to be always a straight red? Even when the defender didn't intentionally do it?
The Wolves defender didn't trip up Walcott on purpose, I'm convinced of that.

Some things are out of proportion, while others are overlooked by Prem refs. While this particular sending off was harsh, I can't get my head around how that Wolves player Ward stayed on the pitch. I saw 2 or 3 bookable tackles by him alone, yet he was booked by dissent I think. Twisted stuff...

Anyways, like Jonney said, 3 points we cashed in. Not our fucking problem! Let's enjoy an easy victory for once.
 
Doyle was a lucky boy too! I thought we`ll end up playing 8 players. We took the foot off the gas once we started over passing I guess Wenger calls that defending :LOL:

We dont need to play great... we just need to finish third! Not having thats nasty feeling on autumn time over if we are going to get trough the play-off stage of the CL. =p

I like the way Manchester United play. They have lots of variety. Unlike Arsenal who pass the ball to death ;) Shoot for God's sake!

Like when watching Arsenal v Man City, I kept shouting at the tv "Shoot for God's sake!". I kept saying to myself if only they had that one person in midfield/coming from behind who has the courage to shoot, as Van Persie's playing CF and can't do that.
 
The second half of Arsenal against Man City was the best football i've seen this season...
United play fantastic counter football now and then, but apart from that they are dull and boring...but they win and in the end that is what counts.

Still i prefer watching Arsenal.
