I agree his tactical changes at the start of the second half were good.

I think he is a really good manager and if Adebayor wasn't sent off it would have been completely different.

But him saying that they were in control (or whatever he said) was just ridiculous :LOL: he is not going to win any admirers saying stuff like that...especially from Spurs fans.
 
AVB has an image problem in England.
IMO he hasn't done much wrong, i just think VDV and Modric weren't properly replaced.
Dembele is great (IMO), but Dempsey and Sigurdsson haven't got an immediate impact, they can still become great players, but at the moment they are not making the difference...
 
What are peoples thoughts on the Walcott situation? With Wenger saying he isn't going in January?

Quite a big gamble to lose a player we could get quite a bit of money for.

The only reason I can see him doing so is that he is prepared to let Walcott play centrally for a while? Then he can really test if Walcott said is true (That the main thing for him is he wants to be a central striker)

He is becoming more and more important for the club and has shown a consistancy this season that he hasn't before. But I think he is showing that his best postion is doing exactly what he has been doing.

Anyway, I would like to see him stay.
 
Walcott was (unfortunately) one of the most important players in the match against Spurs...so far he's having his best season as an Arsenal player (and IMO he was pretty good last year).

It would be stupif to let him go.
 
He wants to leave Gerd, they'd like to keep him im sure but its inevitable the situation will follow the same route as the others.
 
Theo has improve and it`s a lot of if`s n but`s atm. He is not built centrally imo . I would take a pinch of salt what Wenger says, the most important details about Theo is Arsenal is not fighting tooth n nails to keep him . Theo is playing for the shop window.

Where would Theo go? MCITY , Chelsea , MUTD ? :YAWN: , Liverpool :SMUG: goodluck!
 
Good night tonight, didn't look too convincing until the goals, but 2-0 clean sheet a belter of a goal by pod, first goal back for jack and two assists for Giroud.

Giroud and Pod have the combined number of goals that Van Persie had last year at this time. I much prefer that as the goals are spread out and not reliant on one main player for goals.

We are getting players back from Injury and we have a run of games, maybe excluding Everton and probably West Brom at the moment, where we should get lots of points, if we have any goals and ambition for this season.

Lets hope the winning continues :DD
 
i went to the CL game Arsenal vs Monpellier and it was a great game with a brilliant atmosphere thats way different to a Premier league game.

Wilshere was immensed and so was Arteta. those two where the standouts of last night for me and podolski's goal was a beuty
 
Well that was not great, be great to have another striker to put on. Talk of Huntelaar in January, which would be great and we definitely need another quality striker we can put on and rotate with Giroud.

Worried about the run up to xmas, we look tired. Alot of away games to play as well, especially on Wednesday against Everton, where hopefully we play a lot better, or frankly we will lose that.

Really the rest of the games we should win or at least get lots of points from, but this team needs to start firing on all cylinders.

We need to start resting Arteta a bit as well, I imagine the Coq will get a few games in the run up to xmas, hopefully he does well.

Agreed Bobby - one striker (I saw the Huntelaar this weekend too - for £6m apparently!), a creative midfielder that drives us forward - we cannot rely on permacrocks Diaby and Rosicky, and a DMF with stamina 99 (sorry, this is an PES website after all :))

We also need another GK and LB. I don't think Gibbs will last the season, but i don't think we'll sign any of the above either - bar Huntelaar (please!).

Yeah this has to be a make or break season for the chronic injured. If Diaby, Rosicky and Gibbs can't get a lot of games under their belt then they need to be offloaded and others in place by next season (Maybe not Gibbs, his potential could give him another years grace). This Jan will never happen as you say.

I was hoping Santos would be great cover for Gibbs, but he isn't looking good at all.

Huntelaar for 6mill would be amazing though, If we could get another DM this Jan, I would be happy as well, because Wilshere and Arteta are quite versatile and can play the creative midfielder roles when needed. Those 2 signings should see us through, but through to where I don't know :LOL:

I really think if we can flesh out our bench a bit, we can do really well...and sort out our defence (But that goes without saying).
 
I think the Hunter is just what Arsenal of a few seasons ago needed. Not today's.

The biggest failing of this current team is attacking pace. No one aside from Walcott has any. So they can't stretch defences and force them deeper - which means there is no space between the lines for Arsenal to create in.

What this Arsenal teams needs, imo, is a more physical striker. Someone with terrifying pace and strength, rather than a great finisher.
 
Arsenal is not a counter attacking team though beach. What we lack is that 1 touch passing and quick passing of the ball, too many stops n turns that slow down allowing the defense to re-group and organize.

Arsenal has the strongest ST since Henry in Giroud. Gervinho and Alex OX are fast on the wings. I can`t remember us even using the wings to get to the final 3rd. We`re stuck on main street (Middle). It`s so bad that Per was the player with the most passes to Giroud, our f`n CB had to run and make a ground pass to Giroud vs Villa over the weekend :CONFUSE::CONFUSE::CONFUSE:

Why can I see that from my armchair and Wenger can`t :RANT:
 
Giroud is at his best if surrounded by another player who could be dangerous. The best thing Arsenal could do is buy Younes Belhanda from Montpellier. Last year the both of them were sensational. This could also provide strenght in dept for the squad. Arsenal are over reliant on Cazorla and Arteta. That is not good.

Not sure, We have Ox and Gervinho that have the pace. I also think we just need quality reinforcements in certain positions. So having Huntelaar and Giroud together would be great. Then you can rest them,or bring them on for the other etc. Two quality strikers, I think we will always need that.

The problem is the strikers with terrifying pace and strength is that all of the super clubs buy them ;))
 
If you trace back our posts from 1 or 2 seasons ago I was crying for the Huntelaar signing way before he went to Schalke. When he was a bench warmer at AC Milan. The Italians didn't recognise his potential, but I always rated him highly. He's a deadly striker.

And who cares if he wasn't great for Milan. Bergkamp wasn't exactly a hit at Inter Milan, and the rest is history.

But I can't say I'm impressed with the way Arsenal is doing business. Huntelaar is a player, I repeat, who should have been brought in a long time ago. Now if we go and sign him, he will be cup-tied for the Champions League... which is typical of Arsenal, leaving transfer targets for January...

The same goes for Belhanda - not to mention that signing a couple of guys who played against us in the knockout stages of the CL won't make our scout system look good.

As for the renewals, I see Wenger wanting to renew Wilshere's contract, which is great... but what about Theo Walcott?
I can't believe the club allowed themselves to be in such a position. Wenger is trusting him too much, but if there's one thing we've learnt time and time again is that money talks. Walcott will leave on a lucrative Bosman and get a big fat contract.
Something similar happened with Cashley Cole?
 
The difference with Theo is he's average. Theo should be label world's beater by now. Wenger fail to produce or bring out the best in Theo.

You should be our new manager, I'm sure you would do a better job. I'm sure when you are manager, if you want a player they will magically appear at the club, as that is how it seems like it works listening to you.

If Arsenal should have got Huntelaar 2 seasons ago, that's it? Reading around though, it seems like him and Van Persie can't really work together, so that might have been a stumbling block along with many other factors.

Why doesn't it make our scout system look good? I don't understand that? I'm sure they are buying players for the future as well (and the league and 2 cups?), not just for the Champs league?

I don't see buying in January as 'Typical' Arsenal? I'm sure if you look back most of our transfers have been during the summer?

Walcott has been talked about in here many times, Arsenal have been trying to sign him up for over a year now...I think even for two years? so they have been trying, but again if you were the manager you would have magically made him sign the thing?

you really do make it all sound so simple, not that I am a manager or anything, but I am pretty sure that things are a lot more complicated.

Thing is with theo is there are flashes of moment when he just leaves you in awe with his pace but he never really strings good performances. He has potential to still be very dangerous player but i don't think he will prosper much at arsenal/under wenger, which is a shame.


Let's hope his career doesn't do a repeat of some ;)

Walcott is already 100 times better than Bentley and is still young, he has been playing well this year.

I personally think he is in his best position, I can't imagine him playing better as a central striker imo. I would be happy to be proved wrong though.

I think he has every chance to be as good player as he can at Arsenal than anywhere else.

But we will see in the summer when he leaves :LOL:
 
Thing is, i didn't mean he can't shine at arsenal, i purely meant the way wenger plays the 'wide' men, they don't really run the wings much or cross, hence why giroud isn't playing to full potential, arguebly one of the best headers of the ball in the prem, not that it's wingers fault, its way arsene likes his teams to play with wide men going in the way than out. me personally i think walcott is a good player and could take next step

If Wenger played him the way you suggest he wouldn't like it at all, he wants to be a forward and get goals etc. The way Wenger plays him I think compliments his game very well, I think as soon as Walcott accepts it, then the more he can settle into it and be consistant and get goals and assists.

We are getting more and more crosses into the box now, so it is something we are doing. They just need to get better at crossing and finding Girouds bonce.

Who do you think will go for Walcott?
 
There's team's walcott would/could fit in nicely but it's the fact i don't think walcott wants to go to mid table team,

I think he may stay, which in ways i hope

i agree with what you're saying about complimenting his game but he's never let him play out and out winger and do crosses therefore never really let him improve his crossing as it's something that he rarely has done in his career which at one stage he will need to do.

What happens when wenger goes? will the new manager stick with wenger style, tweak or give a complete overall?
 
That is what I am thinking at the moment, he might do well at a midtable team. I can't see any huge teams going in for him (Accept Man City who just want anybody it seems). Maybe a foreign team actually, that might be good for him? not sure.

I will probably be made to eat my words, but I can't see it. I think if he can sort out his contract (which doesn't look likely) and concentrate on Arsenal he could do really well.

I dread to think what manager will come in for Wenger if he leaves and how we will play.
