Gotta love Flamini, honestly getting him for free has to be considered one of the best transfers in the league over the last few years. Not a top quality player, but so well organised and disciplined in the role he plays - it kinda felt like his structure was what Ramsey needed to get a bit more freedom on the pitch.

Well, Milan let Pirlo on a free too. They're mad.

It's a stark difference when we don't have Flamini. No other midfielder at Arsenal has his grit and defensive discipline. When he's on you can tell the defense is much safer than it was.

If Wenger rules out defensive midfielders but still says he will do business, then I don't know what he's up to. Maybe it's all smoke screen, but maybe he really wants to rotate Flamini, Arteta, Cocquelin and even Wilshere at DMF. That's a worry, cause I feel we needed a beast DMF, physical and commanding. Only Flamini fits the bill, although he's not so strong phisically.
We needed another invisible wall like Gilberto. Wenger mentions Wilshere for this role? Sorry, a DMF Wilshere is not.
He even mentioned earlier that Calum Chambers will be a DMF.

That's my only worry so far. Wenger has been putting together a great team, but now we're well and truly 1 or 2 signings away from making this squad really complete. Let's hope he won't be stopping short of this.

As he said, there will be business still to happen. Vermaelen might still leave, so we would need a CB replacement - and believe me we would, that boy Miquel is so far away from first team level! At the Emirates Cup it really showed.

Will be surprised if this happens, can't see a reason why Sanogo doesn't start. Giroud could be benched if he still lacks match fitness.

On the other hand I would love to see Campbell playing but rather as a winger.

Jack is not playing next to Arteta. I rather Ramsey play behind Striker. I think Campbell is the most clever and skillful player on the wings, much more then OX.

He is saying that they won the Charity Shield with Moyes in charge and then were shit for the rest of the season, so we have taken the curse over and we will be shit now :PP

Obviously City had alot of players out, but so did we, our 3 world cup winners :DD Walcott, we also had a makeshift defence.

Man City will obviously be a different animal when Kompany, Aguero et al are back, but it was a good confidence booster winning today.

I can't wait for the new season!! It has the potential to be fantastic.
 
It wasn't City best game, but we had more players in the middle 5 vs 3. I think their (2) upfront lacked, that certain connection . We can only beat what's in front of us 'the missing' are 'if's n but's' . We won - deal wit it!
Filling that trophy cabinet nicely atm . 4 to go lol

Perhaps recognize a joke when you see one? I thought Arsenal played really well. You and Pool scare me the most based on what I've seen thus far. Ramsay thus far is showing last season was no fluke.

Well , Mutd have won every preseason game w/ style. It's to be expected w/ LVG at the helm .I'm aware of the joke , I'm just not aware how to react on winning a trophy. I'm enjoying the moment I'm aware next week is for real.

You only had Mertasacker out in defence. How is that makeshift? :P Try partnering your 4th/5th choice CB with your 7th choice CB and playing your 2nd choice LB at RB for 'makeshift' ;)

Looked to me like you were without Mertasacker, and 2 from Ozil/Walcott/Giroud
I would have thought that when we play you next only 4 of the starters today will start (Kolarov, Fernando, Yaya, Nasri). We were literally without 10/11 players (debatable with Negredo) who would have started ahead of what was on show today, plus there's Micah at RB but he's not being played so he doesn't get injured for a transfer :ROLL:

Anyway, congrats, you were much better than us today. Whilst mainly only the winners and Utd fans (so they can say they've won more trophies than Liverpool) consider it a trophy, winning at Wembley is a good habit to have :)

funny you say that about Per only out. I thought we bought Chambers and loaned out Jenkinson as a 2nd fullback. I keep seeing another fullback in Monreal as a CB too! We sold Vermaelen and still missing a proper back up to a CB position.

Im so fk`in confuse by what Wenger is doing at the back. I get the preseason selection n all. This could be a nightmare the rest of the German WC-winners aren`t even back . While every WC-winner (-)Arsenal players returned . Podi was playing on a basketball team yesterday in Germany ffs!

Gibbs looks great ,but he still leaning more to the injury prone side. I think we have too much in the middle, lacking more up front and fragile at the back. Bosscielny didnt finish hopefully it was to rest, not a knock.
 
Thought Koscielny played? My stream wasn't great. Anyway, doesn't really change my point that Arse were much closer to a full strength team than we were

He played but came off to put LB in CB position. That`s City fault they don`t have full strength . They didn`t have many in WC final:P .
