Champions League 2011/12

i dont think any of CL teams can beat Napoli at home , will be interesting to see Napoli vs Real next if both teams goes on of course

i don't see a big CL this year...
sorry, but, the level is down...
I see 3 BIG favourites...BArça-Milan-RM
without ManU, City, and the down level of Chelsea, Inter..
is hard that the 3 big favourites don't win this CL

another thing is, a level os play...

Marsella don't have level for win..
Inter is Boring
Chelsea is in a mini-crisis
Basilea is a incognite, but obviusly , don't will win the CL
Napoli, great team, strong in his stadium..but..can they win barça or RM in a double match? NO
Bayern Munich The final is in munich..in his stadium..have a good Fw's...but his defense is a bit weak
Arsenal, Arsenal is out...
Bayern leverkusen...No....sorry but no...
CSKA oh please...win in bernabeu....hehe..no, seriusly, cska have a hard match in bernabeu...

Favourites

Milan, In his stadium are strongest..and in rival stadium they know play with result..Robinho, Ibra, Pato, Boateng...I have only dude..A double match with barça or madrid in semis...

RM: Strongest, fast, scorer...The only thing negative..fear of mourinho in a big matches...

Barça The best play, Actually champion...Messi, iniesta, xavi, alves...when they want, play angel's football...the problem? they aren't very strong...

Great result for Basel...and what a match by their GK!
It will be difficult to hold on to that result however...Bayern will be extra motivated by the fact that the CL final is played in their stadium.

Yah Sommer is gonna give Diego Benaglio some serious competition for Swiss #1 now! He's young, composed and plays with the confidence of a superstar! I'm impressed.

I hope we will see Napoli or Russia team win the whole competition..

i realy am bored of the same outcome and definetly glad for Basel and Marseille...in fact FINALLY there is some other teams playing where the usual should play..

The CL for me is very boring competition if the same teams compete for the trophy over and over again..

realy hope for Napoli to win this eventually.. they deserve it.. it will be though but they play so far most entertaining football with a fantastic home crowd...

Watch out for Bayern. I hope Bazel eliminate them, but i don't think so.
The fact that the final will be played in their home stadium will motivate them extremely.

It may also put an unwanted extra pressure on the players if things dont start well...

They've been dreadful recently. I remember them having an excellent start to the season, that impressive clean sheet run and everyone bigging them up as potential CL winners.

Well for me they're still a very good team just going through a rough recent patch but yeah at this point, given that 1st leg, there's no telling if they'll even qualify to the next round let alone win the CL.

I do have a feeling actually though that IF they were to get past Basel which is a BIG IF itself, then they would have a very good chance of adding to their CL triumph. But for the moment, Basel like Napoli has played a very good 1st leg and is in the driver's seat anyway as it's theirs to lose.

They were excellent against Schalke mind.

Ribery especially is on fire at the minute, almost the complete opposite of Robben, Muller and Gomez who haven't exactly been terrific since the break, or in the case of the first two, all season.

They really miss Schweinsteiger in the middle though (who wouldn't?), any idea when he's back?

You're right. Not sure but should be soon I think.

Muller's been off form for awhile, Ribery still very selfish at times but looks quite menacing at least again and their most important player is indeed captain Schweini in the middle. When he's not there, a huge piece of the puzzle is missing.

Man, am I the only one excited?!

Really looking forward to Benfica vs. Zenit! Should be a good one and very competitive with both teams capable of advancing. Benfica's home advantage and away goals may just be a huge factor! But it's nice to have Malfaaev and Criscito back! No Danny still but those two will be BIG tonight!

Arsenal Milan, i believe for a Arsenal qualification before the game, now i'm almost sure, legendary game !

edit : Walcott need change sport, Rosisky need retire and Gervinho need Lille air...

Rosicky actually looks like the OLD Rosicky from Dortmund. Not quite but looks to have regained his form and confidence. Good player again where as for most of past 2-3 years he's been average at best.

What a HORRIBLE performance by Milan. And that sitter by Nocerino! :LMAO:

And has Robinho lost speed or what.. lol looks HALF as fast as he used to be!

Yah but dare I say it Nocerino's was even worse! looked even funnier, guy couldn't have it hit it ANY Worse and to try to toe-poke with outside of right-foot when you got whole net....

van Persie shouldn't have tried to be cute either, just f'n tap it in! that simple! That really could've taken Arsenal through perhaps had they completed the comeback there!

Stupid van persie losing that and broke hes team with that joke he did damn im really nervous sane as arsenal fans

Huge victory tonight! We needed that one so badly after a disaster weekend. Benfica was able to overcome Zenit's solid defence. They set a very defensive strategy like they did at Porto and we were lucky to open the score in a crucial time just before the halftime.

On the other hand, seems to me that Zenit had no plan B whatsoever. They set an outstanding defensive strategy but they struggled a little bit on offence. When Zenit needed to score they lacked a proper plan to bounce back and overcome Benfica.

exactly. I was just like WTF?! when Koscielny outpaced him like nothing after the through pass from Zlatan in first half. that was just as ridiculous.

btw, is it just me or Arsenal really didn't push it hard enough especially in the last quarter of an hour despite being so close to an epic victory? they just surprisingly seemt to lost lots of the motivation for no reason then imo. the last minutes were just weird to me. :JAY:

yup you can't consider Robinho fast anymore. He's agile and good with the ball but in terms of speed, I'd put Nocerino even above him.

He was never really that quick though was he?

Or at least he never exactly used it to blast past players or really do much running at all*

*based on what I can remember from his City days + a few Real & Milan games.

He was quite fast matherto. He always relied on skill more than speed anyway but that's just because he was a very skilfull guy not because he lacked pace by any means.

A young Robinho was quite speedy. Hell he still had quite a bit of speed till last year but in today's match, he proved to all just how much he's 'improved'. :P

A young Robinho was like Neymar. Would you not say Neymar's fast? He's not THE fastest but he's certainly quick. Robinho was like that too once.
