Having spent a substantial amount of time with FIFA and then Efootball, I would like to note some things.
FIFA is still FIFA for better or worse, it is slightly slower than last year but still does not come near to recreating the 'feel' of football like Pro Evo has done in the past few years. It exhibits strange glitches and AI behaviour, shooting is overpowered from distance and angles. I can list so many problems here but there is no point because no matter its faults, this time around FIFA when compared to eFootball, it is like a masterpiece.
eFootball immediately offends by offering only a 5 minute match for local exhibition matches, this solidifies my thoughts that this 'release' should be considered nothing more than a demo with a larger selection of teams and some online functionality and modes. The game is not done, it lacks fundamental mechanics all Pro Evo players have utilised over the years.
Teammate pressure is non existent, the tactical options are ripped out, the menu colour scheme offends, the team management screen is archaic, menus in general are horrible and slow. Gameplay suffers from poor AI positioning and coverage, weak passing power boggles the mind, shooting feels off as well, it hurts to play this game. You are struggling to wrestle control away from the AI decision making within the code.
Through balls are so overpowered and nearly impossible to intercept unless you pack the midfield.
Players constantly fail to track runners, the ball or generally cover areas of potential danger. There is a noticible delay from when you take control of a player and when they start sprinting in the right direction and speed, especially when defending space. Flicking the right stick to change player feel very unreliable now as well.
Graphically it is underwhelming to a high degree. Nothing much to add here, just watch some footage of it.
Playing online, the connection is quite good, barely any lag but the gameplay issues are just so in your face you can not be left anything but stunned at the incomptence on display.
This release feels like a Demo/Alpha they released to combat the release of FIFA, with more substantial updates planned in the coming months it seems like the only likely scenario considering how bad it plays when compared to PES2021 (which is a wonderful game in my estimation).
There are some positives here in terms of gameplay but there is no point in listing them when they are covered in a sea of mud.
