I wouldn't say Moyes is under pressure, by the media and some sections of fans possibly but the board I doubt have any worries.

unless we finish outside the top 4 which I can't see happening he'll be fine.
 
Di Canio has always been an idiot and like others said, it was a mistake appointing him in the first place!

Glad to see him gone. Doesn't deserve a top level job anyway and has done nothing to earn it.

Finishing outside top 4 ? I'm not so sure as you are younggun. You were awfull against City...and it seems teams like Arsenal and Spurs are more consistent this season. Still early days and never underestimate Man Utd, but i can see it happening.

The way the players have acted at Sunderland, partying, drink driving and so on and so forth is worthy of condemnation.

These bums should at least have the personal pride to play for themselves instead of 'we don't like this discipline' and throwing their toys out of the pram.

They really are pampered children and deserve to be treated as such.

They as a whole should be removed from the club but they have all the power unfortunately as it would cost too much to have them removed.

Yet again the players get off scot free from criticism while the figurehead manager gets it in the neck.

Such criticism never bothered players before in the past. They took it on the chin. But the mentality of the modern player told they are superior to everyone else from an early age insulated from the real world does not lend them to this view anymore.

If you asked Sunderland fans most would want to see more local lads in the side who would at least wear the shirt with pride rather than for money and at least put in some effort.

That's all fans want at most. But these indolent rebels cannot even do that.
 
And here i was thinking that Di Canio shipped out the rotten apples and bought a whole new team...
If he is criticising his players either he criticised the players he wanted or (if it did not have any input in the transfers) heshould shut up and do the best he can with those players....

No matter what is wrong with Sunderland players, what Di Canio did is very, very bad man management. Personally i'm glad to be rid of that clown who only gets attention for all the wrong reasons.

No every good player is a half decent coach/manager and Di Canio is another example of that (just like Maradonna, Allan Shearer and so many before them).
 
I've grown up watching the best managers almost making a point of not criticizing their own players in public.

How can you expect people to have faith in you, to follow you and be loyal to you when you act like Di Canio has done?

If Di Canio has anything to offer in football he needs to take some time out and study the likes of Ferguson.

We'll see, I personally think it's still a three horse race with United, City and Chelsea.

I think Moyes was trying to get through this difficult fixture list by trying to use a stable solid team, but the result was far too negative in my opinion. I think the Man City defeat was a painful but valuable lesson for all involved, hopefully Moyes can adapt fast.

To replace a whole team would cost a fortune.

But the players have yet again escaped. Plenty of people work for people they do not really like. But they stick at it.

But footballers are just that little bit extra special. The way they have carried on seems to have been ignored. When a manager like Martin O'Neill or even a genial one like Bruce cannot get anything out of them who can ?

What will they do when the next manager comes in and they don't like him ? If he tells them to cut out what they are doing off the field ? Will they go running to the chairman again ?

Large numbers of fans are being turned off by players with these attitudes.

Paid a fortune when most are only half decent and fell they can do what they like in front of fans who stupidly waste money to watch them home and away.

Why hasn't Phil Bardsley left or indeed been sacked for his unprofessional behaviour ? He is supposed to be an athlete but feels it quite okay along with several other players to go drinking before games and ending up in casinos.

Officers in an army can be harsh. But the people under them accept the discipline and get on with it as they do in other walks of life.

But football as usual is an exemption. Yet again the balance tips in favour of the players.

This season is awesome - so unpredictable. How are these for some odd stats:

Chelsea and Manchester City have not won any of their first 3 away matches
Manchester United have had their worst start since the premier league started
Arsenal lead the league - but - in the same 6 fixtures last season they actually collected more points (18) than this year (15).
Tottenham are almost top of the table, despite only scoring 6 goals in 6 matches.

It's all setup to be an amazingly close season.

Belgium has a serious talent in current generation..sick to think..

Can't believe Fer from Norwich put ball in net v us yesterday. Marshall throws ball out for them and then instead of throwing it back to him the Norwich player throws it go Fer and he puts it into empty net! Shocking sportsmanship!!

Years ago I played in a big youth cup final down our way and somehow we were 2 down after 90 mins. I scored to make it 2-1. They kicked ball out for us just after as one of our lads got hurt. We have it back to them. A minute later, I scored the equaliser! :) Sometimes sportsmanship pays off eh? I scored the winning penalty aswell so great night for me personally but amazing comeback from our team as we never gave up. 2 years earlier my brother scored 5 in same cup final :) ... and our teams were both underdogs! My brothers side won 9-0!! They were brilliant on the night. Anyway, I went off topic a big there but my point is you should always give the ball back no matter what as Karma can be good to you :)
 
That was indeed no very fair what Fer did. At least he had the grace to come out for it when asked...

To be honest, Norwich deserved to win, but Marshall was great...

Its too early...long season and the team could be at the bottom at the end. They only bought (3) at £35.5m its massive amount . Arsenal only spent £6.5m more.

am just talking about what they played, I haven't predicted anything ..
but, they did well against Liverpool and MU by grabbing 4 points away, even if these two teams aren't that great this season ..
but overall, Saints seem solid ..

I think the Saints were solid last season too ,but I would agree Pochettino is doing a great job!
