I shall test these sliders out then and see how I go in some exhibition games. I may attempt full manual but mjp your semi/manual set up seems like it'd be more to my suiting.

Additionally, what difficulty are you on mjp? As I know that Placebo plays on Legendary and thus his sliders are for that difficulty. Would decreasing the pass/shot/first touch error work if I was to play these on World Class? One last thing, what are your defensive line settings, as I too want the defences in the game to sit deeper, thank you.

I am rotating my squad every few games, with alonso, kolorov, suso, lucas, yesil, wisdom, johnson, higuain & more in squad.

Currently in Jan 2014 Transfer window, Bought Jordi Alba and Received Morata on loan from Real Madrid
FA Cup Match v Man City and 2 Legged Semi Final of Capital 1 Cup against Chelsea coming up. Even though I have reinvented my squad quite abit over the 2 years I am unsure as to stay on at the end of season 2 or see what other leagues are like

I'm feeling similar to you, I had been enjoying my Southend CM on world class but decided to go up to legendary as it was getting too easy. For about 4 games I was enjoying it even more but now I am struggling and finding it frustrating. Its like my players are different, they feel sluggish. Can't put my finger on it, maybe it's because of my poor run of form. CPU is giving me the wrong player to control quite a lot, whereas before that wasn't happening.

I will keep perservering because I know this game has a lot to offer.

I'm enjoying the thread by the way, some good chuckles. :LOL:

Hi.

I played on World Class but with such an average team (Villareal) I actually INCREASED the CPU error rate to give me a chance! I also like many errors to make it feel more realistic to me. But as Placebo's sliders are so good, it was just 2,3 or 4 points that I increased by.

As for defensive settings, I changed them quite a lot, I won't have access to my ps3 til tomorrow at the earliest but I think they're around the 25->28 level so they start off not far from their own box (thus increasing space in midfield AND making the CDM more easy to distinguish from other midfielders.
 
Finished 8th with my Le Mans team, the board were very happy, but want a promotion push next season. They've given me £2 million budget, with £7000 wages budget.

Going to be very hard work to improve with those figures, so going to snap up some free transfers I think, and maybe one 'bigger' signing, possibly a striker. Might switch to playing two up top as well.

Ah good I am too playing on World Class, I actually played a few games with the sliders last night and they were very good I have to say. I may also increase the pass/shot error just slightly.

Ah I see, I'd really appreciate if you could post those whenever you get access to your ps3 I'd be really grateful, thank you.

Stick with it! :) Each Forest goal came from an individual defensive error (overcomitting in dangerous areas). The way I look at it is: if I adjust how I play in order to reduce those errors, I would win those matches. You still had more possession & shots, so it's not like you were out-played.

May I ask what slider settings you are using or are you playing default legendary?
 
I'm playing a career mode with Cagliari. I'm enjoying myself, but yesterday I noticed it was March and I still hadn't received an offer to coach a national squad. Also, I have one player I can't get rid of. A young LB named Murru or something. I consider him dead wood, but everytime I accept an offer, I get an e-mail later that the transfer talks have broken down. Another bug, I guess.

I play on World Class with default sliders and winning games remains a huge challenge. If I'm not ahead by at least two goals, the superhuman AI always scores in the dying minutes of the game. Someday I might start tweaking the sliders, but I've always used default settings and somehow it sort of feels like cheating when I change things. I know it's really not, but still...
 
I'm in october of my first season with Liverpool and have been offered two national jobs; Columbia and Russia. Really enjoying it with placebo's sliders and the operation sports tactics.
 
Just finished the summer transfer window in my third season after a tough but successful campaign the previous year. Won the FA cup and champions cup and also just edged league victory on goal difference after being 7th place in January.

First action from this season was at international level, managed to take England all the way, got to admit, I love the way that the difficulty in international competitions is a lot harder than friendlies or qualifiers. Also the way Spain played against me was very realistic with all the passing, far more than I have witnessed in any other game.

Decent start to the arsenal campaign, won all 3 friendlies, won copa Europe and community shield with a loss to Chelsea in the league after a thrilling game where i was 3-0 down most of the game but managed to pull 2 back with 5 minutes to spare but couldn't get the third unfortunately. But got a convincing victory over wolves.

Since my last update Lloris has come in firstly but only because ter Stegan wanted to leave unfortunately so I swapped him and £15m for Lloris.
Next my defence has been reshaped and reinforced with the acquisitions of Masi from Juventus and Nastasic from Bayern for £20m and £15m respectively.
In midfield Gundogan has returned from loan but didn't grow as much as I was hoping and also I had action with Gotze. In January I sold him for £55m for a £20m profit but again*signed him back in exchange for the experience of Cazorla and £15m.
In attack I have brought in Neymar for a fee of £25m and Lucas Piazon. El Shaarawy has also returned from loan and is my top scorer so far.
There are a variety of options on my bench including Oscar, Coentrao and Tello (just returned from loan). My main additions are guidetti (78) for £8m and Appelt (78) in exchange for Adryan.
The main loss to my squad is Yaya Toure but I wanted to lose him while he was still worth something. I have also no longer got Vermaelen and cazorla but these spaces have been more than filled.
There are a lot more but I can't think of them off the top of my head unfortunately. Thanks for reading.
 
Has anyone had the custom tactics crash in career mode that's been in the past few versions? Willing to commit the time to change everything up and assign them, but last time I did that in a career mode I ended up with goalkeepers as strikers and binary codes on the bench :BLINK:

Well I delved in and customised all my tactics near the tail end of my first season; I'm approaching the end of my second season now, and I haven't had a single issue so far :)

Watched some guy doing a career mode with Arsenal on Youtube and he had Eisfeld in the squad. He is nowhere to be seen in my game. Is he in your games? Wondering if he disappeared after the squad update?

This is my line up when everyone's at full flow but unfortunately Agüero is out of form with not scoring in six games! If I remember correctly I have played 8 games in which El Shaarawy has scored 10 goals which makes up for Agüeros lack of form. For COC games I have brought guidetti into the starting line up at the expense of Aguero and I don't know what it is about him but he's managed to get me 3 goals and an additional 2 from coming off the bench in the league! Can't wait to see how El Shaarawy and Guidetti turn out with them being 21 and 22 respectively. I could also bring into play Iturbe while Aguero is out of form, move Neymar up front and Rodriguez to the LW as Neymar has got me 4 goals I think.

If anybody has advice on signings for the next window please let me know

Dortmund Update

Currently on a winter break in Germany, and happily sitting in 1st place, just a point ahead of Hoffenheim & 3 ahead of Bayern Munich.
Now that the transfer window is now open I'm being flooded with offers for my top performers!
Schurrle (a deadline day signing) broke his ankle on his debut, so has only just returned to the squad. He got his first start & goal in a cup game against Duisberg, so after the email that came through saying that Blaszczykowski will be out for 3 months with a torn hamstring, it's a well timed return.

Transfer Activity
You may remember I signed Ogbonna for £7.5m to replace Barca-bound Hummels at the start of the season. He has been brilliant at the back with Subotic, and caught the eye of some big teams.
Juventus & PSG both offered £10m for him, but were both told he would cost nearer to £25m. Juventus backed off, but moneybags PSG countered with £19m.
£12m profit was too good to turn down (especially with my rule of not standing in the way of a big offer) so after 5 months in Germany, he was off.
I won't be using the money to replace him just yet. Kouyate has now been promoted to 1st choice, which still leaves Varane (on loan) & Kirchhoff as options.
The promising young CB Gunter has gone out on loan to get some experience, so (after a little research on FIFA Scouting) have brought in Saco-Vertiz to help with rotation. He's on a loan-to-buy, so we'll see how he fits in...

Ron Zieler (GK) currently has the best clean sheet record in the league, and is in high demand, as is joint top goal scorer Lewandowski.
Zieler is a new signing (like Ogbonna) so really want to keep him, but if I get an offer of £25+ for Lewi I'll accept.

I also shipped out Scheiber to Malaga for £5m. Great bit of business for me - he had so many games to impress, but a striker who can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo isn't much use! I already have 2 other strikers, so no need to replace him.

The window has almost 3 weeks left, so will let you know if anyone else leaves!
 
Southampton 3rd season

Before beginning, just for intro, I'm a very experienced FIFA & FM player.
In the 3rd season with southampton, after 27games I'm in 2nd place, 6points adrift of leaders Tottenham. Knocked out from Europa & FA Cup. This is my team & the views on the players:

Ospina 87 (FIFA fanatic shows his max potential is 78. Reflex 94)
Johansson 76 (Had to swap clyne + 10m for el sharaway. Worthy replacement)
L.Rose 77 (Extraordinary commitment in midfied and attack by the CB)
Nathan Ake 76 (Just a good potential)
Tshimanga 76 (Best left back by miles. My favorite. Great pace, strength. Everything perfect)
Casemiro 85 (Great shot power & long ranger. Strong)
Ntambwe 78 (Bought for 3m, has 95+ is most imp 3: strength, stamina, sprint speed. Good ball control & shot power too)
Adryan 82 (Another simple good potential lad)
El Sharaway 85 (25league goals already from 'Rooney' role. Doesnt take penalties)
Wijnaldum 85 (Awesome goalscorer and perfect attacker. Lacks strength and stamina)
Ramirez 88 (Rejected 69m offer for him, can play twice a week easily. Doesnt score as often as el sharaway but one of the best from left foot)

Subs: Pasquato 83 (fifa12's messi, bought for cheap. Excellent bargain, not messi here but one of the best gambles)
Cedric Mabwati (Sprint Speed: 98. Lacks strength but introduce him after 60mins and he'll makeu realize that its just a game. Tremendous pace)
Svensson (Probably the best I've found among all "unknowns". Work rate is "High"for defense & attacking but believe me, if there was an "Very High"option, he'll get that. Great stamina.. Mediocre player but best Work Horse by 10miles.)

Cragno (bought to replace ospina but the current GK already surprised me enough to sell this lad)
Wynne (CB, bought for 0.4m. Sprint speed 93, stamina 92. As great as was in FIFA 12)
Yun Toung sun (CB bought for abt 1m, perfect gamble)

have Luka Shaw, Ward porse (club player, good potential) and 8 free agents aged below 20 and with stats 70 or more. + Mendy (strong CDM) + Nana Welbeck and a couple of others I cant recall.

Will start scouting from next season. Currently managing Poland. Was knocked off the WC in group stages. Everyone other than Ramirez is under 5yrs+ contract.. Playing in legendary difficulty. Found lots of glitch.

Just had a thought about the player growth; has anyone had a player grow more than +5 in a single season?

I've got a couple of players who were growing at a fercious pace but they haven't grown for ages now - they're both at +5 already for the season.

Maybe to combat the fast growth they've put in a cap of +5 per season? :THINK:

EDIT: I'm certain there's a cap of +5

Just started the new season, not a single game played and Lecointe is up to 67... although it only says +1.. and I checked all the growth just before I ended the previous season... weird...

Yeah and Gurrieri is up to 70, so is Punch; Bandalovski is also up to 71.

So i've just finished my second season with Plymouth, I finished 3 points clear at the top of the npower League 1 and therefore securing my second consecutive promotion. Up to the championship we go! :BOP:

I've been given a transfer budget of £1.4 million, which is incredibly generous by Plymouth's standards. However, I'm hoping I can do a little free agent wizardry once more and save as much cash as possible for the prem :COOL:

The board has set me the objective of achieving a middle table finish, which I was a little surprised at to be honest - I was expecting 'avoid relegation'. However, in the hope of not being too ambitious, I'm going for the almighty 3rd consecutive promotion :P

UPDATE: I've already had 2 offers for Gurrieri, one from Marseille and I forget the other club...
He's valued at just over £1 mil, which looks like a tasty amount of cash; the question is can I find equal or better for less? and could I even cope without him...?

So i'm practically finished with all my transfers for this window, here's a summary:

I really did struggle to find a good keeper for little cash (I was hoping free :L). I also didn't want to get another keeper on loan since I'm looking to get a settled squad which I can hopefully develop into a team capable of surviving the BPL later on. Vidal seemed like a decent buy though, especially if his growth is as rapid as some of my players.
I also had him for some lower league team in Fifa 12; I could never 'get into' that kind of career mode in '12, but I remember he was pretty decent.

Also, just to clarify, this is not ARTURU Vidal i've somehow bought for £180k and turned into a keeper... this is MARC Vidal :P

Also, get this: Gilmartin (my second choice keeper) comes to me saying that he thinks he deserves a higher wage. I'm busy raking through the transfer market so I put it off and inevitably forget. He then comes back again to remind me, saying he's been speaking to his agent about it. I check his contract and he's sitting on £750p/w and he's supposedly after £1,500. I think, 'fair enough' and offer him the 1.5k (as well as the 2 years length he wants). He then replies with 'Oh, thanks for the offer boss but i'm not thinking about penning a new contract at the moment. I'm not sure if I want to continue playing here, I need to consider my future.'

If you do change your mind and look into a replacement for Schneiber I highly recommend El Shaarawy. What's your starting XI look like?

I had too do the same with ter Stegan and he replied in the same manner so I exchanged him and cash for Lloris, please let me know how this situation pans out.

To be honest, I'll probably just let it drag on and see what happens. He's nothing special, it'd be easy to find a replacement.
 
El Sharaway scored 36goals in my 3rd season with southampton, 51goals in all competitions. Legendary difficulty, he doesnt even take penalties. And plays in the middle of the attacking 3 behind striker in 4-2-3-1 formation. Just cut back and bam... Recently rejected my 140k/week contract offer (scout recommended 120k) but still under 4yr contract. I hardly played him in my 2nd season since he looked like an overhyped version of pasquato. But boy can he improve.. and his price tags too...
p.s. Real Madrid offered 120m for Ramirez and I rejected :D

This is the first season I haven't loaned him out and he's heading for the Tallis he managed for you :D you should have took the money for Ramirez! Could have got messi for that fee!
 
Just reached the end of the season with Rovers. I missed out on automatic promotion on goal difference with Leicester.

So the playoff's it is then. Rovers play Cardiff, Wolves play Leeds in the other playoff.
 
So much for keeping hold of star players!

Transfer Merry-Go-Round:
Everton came in with a £8m bid for Piszczek. If they went up to £11m I'd accept, so put in a bid for young RB van Rhijn of Ajax as a replacement. Just as I confirmed the new signing, Piszczek rejected Everton, so I have a bit of healthy competition.

Bayern Munich came in with a £27m bid for Reus, who has been outstanding. He was rated at £16m, so I asked for £37m thinking it would put them off. It didn't, so off he went, and the fans voiced their disappointment in the press (and vowed to boo him when he returns!).

The real kicker was when Man City came knocking for Gotze! It had been mentioned in the news, but no offer had been made until deadline day. He was valued at £33m, but they offered £40m. I told them that £65m was his price, and we agreed on a final figure of £59m.

£96m for 2 players wasn't bad business, but left me short on attacking midfielders. Kehl had also left for the Spanish league, so needed 3 replacements.
I noticed Atletico were rumoured to be signing Sneijder, so made an enquiry. His value was £20m, but he only had 6 months left on his contract, so Inter would accept £9m for him. Thought it was too good to turn down so he takes over the #10 shirt.
As I'd lost one starlet, I also enquired about Christian Eriksen, and got him for a knock down £9.5m.
Signing number 3 was Lewis Holtby (keeping some German internationals in the squad was another rule), so will add some depth to the squad.
Still short on a defensive midfielder, it seemed a good idea to put the versatile Kouyate in there, and bring in another CB (as he was going to replace Ogbonna, who originally replaced Hummels)
Dragovic from Basle seems a good prospect, and keeps with the youth element at the club.

With quite a bit of money in the bank, I opted for one more signing. Since upping the difficulty to World Class, Lewandowski has struggled a little bit. So Wellinton has joined from Spartak Moscow (£10.3m). He was a great signing in FIFA12, so hopefully he can do the same this time around.

I have 9 players out on loan as well (some couldn't be sold in the 1st window), although some - Gunter, Bittencourt & Sobiech - are future prospects.

After the transfer window closed, I lost the next league game, which allowed Munich & Hoffenheim to move up & drop me into 3rd.
It might be related to changing the difficulty, but adds to the fun :)

I could buy Messi/Ronaldo but their wage is too high (275k compared to Ramirez's 130k). Besides I actually countered 120m but Real Madrid accepted and bought him. Then I went to browse the best CF's to replace him and the list indicated he was the best in the list. 90 at 24yrs, can play twice a week easily, left footed (advantage from the position he plays with el shaaraway) and reasonable wage. So, loaded the game prior to the counter offer. can get the same if not more for him next season.
