Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Ive got mixed emotions about owen joining city...

If he was fit, why didnt we sign him, no sorry why did we let him go??

Could be a great buy for city who look v.v.good right now and must be faves for the title on current form regardless of our freakish result vs arsenal,

Now if lfc make a serious push for the title (aswell) it would make for a very interesting season indeed,,,

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

It must be fair to say that the youtube workout video worked . We all laughed and now he got 130k a week gig .

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Hahha probably more!! lol

Which vid is this tho? I never saw it.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

probably he will get best deal he could have while playing nothing there just as all those national players who are there for wages... what will happend to Johnson, Millner etc.. Tevez omg.. this can´t last forever.. players need motivation for places, not being happy to get paid after a while.. but whatever..

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

What I find more disturbing is that City are allowed to keep senior players and just loan them out. As with the weekend - Spurs couldn't field Adebayor. Wherever Bellamy goes, he won't play against City.

Loans were designed for youth players, not for City to get around their obscene squad.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

yeah, loan deals are crazy this days.. there should be age limit and it would be better for everyone...

City might sign another 20 players that never play for them... the football world is sick right now...players are not people anymore, they are property..

Funny... We loan out sanchez to Leeds and he played, gave us a hard time too  MCity could do well it`s cheaper than buying players like Chelsea did. MCity plan A was to defend (park the bus) to all the big Clubs and win all the small and get into CL- Worked! Now, loanee to hurt other clubs and leave them vulnerable versus them...interesting concept .

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

He's a much better player than Barry, when he's not injured of course.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Proberbly just a wind up like mutv in HD or something..

LMFAO

Hahha that video is funny lol.

I don't agree. I'd take Gareth.

But it doesn't matter anyway because the fact that Barry has consistently played in over 35 games a season and is rarely injured alone makes him far more useful than Owen.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Ugh, he's actually signed. Just when my loathing of City couldn't get any more, they take my curly-haired love away from me. Would have loved to see him at literally any other club.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Yep. Even them. Though, for similar reasons it would annoy me - I want him to play if he can. He is being bought as cover for cover. What a waste.

That's a premier league rule, nothing to do with us. You weren't complaining years back when Howard was loaned to evertone and Foster was loaned to Watford, meaning you got 12 easy points playing teams without their first choice keepers.

If you're going to make an argument to justify your largesse, at least get it right.

We had sold Howard to Everton by the time we played them that year (in a clutch match). There was confusion around the contract, and he didn't play because of that. But technically we weren't allowed to have anything in there about him not playing us as he was a full Everton player.

Foster was loaned to Watford in the Championship to gain experience - as he'd not had a professional career.

That is the point of a loan. To give players experience.

Perhaps you'd like explain why Santa Cruz, Bellamy, Adebayor etc need loaning out for experience?

Face it, they're only City players because no one else will pay them non-market wages.

So I dreamt that second season where he was their player of the year?

:TTTH:

As for the Howard situation, it was clearly a "Yes Alex, anything you say Alex' situation. But Like I said, it's ok for your lot to do it, but when City abide by premier league rules, we're taking advantage.

I don't understand how you don't get this, foster was 22/23 when we loaned him out to gain experiance, where as city are loaning out proven players like adebayor and santa cruz, who cost it's just a waste, fair enough boyata, weiss, ibrahim etc. are loaned out as there young and upcoming players. 42.5 million of players with just adebayor and santa cruz, difference is we don't spend that kind of money to loan out players just to keep the numbers down. :TTTH:

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Im not bothered about Hargreaves deal at all. City did it for a laugh, Hargreaves gets a good wage. both camps happy.

I doubt he'll get a game all year.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

That's besides the point. Its about principle. Its always frowned upon when someone moves from one club to their rivals, nevermind a local one. But in this case we're talking about someone who played what 30 minutes over 3 years for us? All while getting paid £80k or whatever he was getting. We could have got rid of him a long time ago but stuck by him during his injury and got him back into the shape that he's in today.

Atleast Tevez' move was understandable. Tevez is a world class player and arguably deserved what he was demanding from us.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

you should be happy for Hargreaves

a guy who suffered injuries at your club, let go by the manager to potentially be out of football. to be desperate to show the world he can still do it

city pick him up, regardless if he plays or not he will be training with the best players in the world and feeling like a player again

plus he is getting paid.

good luck to the lad, certainly what he has had after a bad run of it

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

We paid a transfer fee to sign him. He was also paid during his injuries. We treated him and helped him in his recovery. Most clubs probably would've gave up on him a long time ago in our circumstances, especially with the debt over the owners head. But we stuck by him where others probably wouldnt have. So in that sense, we dont owe him anything.
So the least he could have done was not gone to our rivals.

The dumb thing is, not many people see the big deal because "it's Hargreaves" and people believe his arrival isnt going to hurt anyone including us. If this was a top player who could've improved City's squad then a lot more people would be moaning. Which is what I find stupid, cuz I dont see why the quality of the player should matter in an issue of this kind.

So you don't see the difference between young players gaining experience ans 30m unnecessary buys? You are a City fan!

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I remember it was mack or quiet riot ....said i wish We would get a sugar daddy that will pump money in the club then well seee . Most of us laugh and said keep dreaming mate . Today We see mcity fans defending their new found riches ...haha who would of thought that 4 years ago

Moot point. Your initial beef was that City were loaning players and they couldn't play against us...I simply pointed out that when the shoe was on the other foot, you lot didn't cry bout it like you are doing now.
:FAIL:

:FAIL:

No, if you read through earlier posts you'll see my point about City doing it with established, senior internationals is the problem.

Surely you can see the difference between fielding, say, Ritchie De Laet and Emmanual Adebayor?

Obviously you can't have loanees playing against their parent club, the incentives are wrong. Historically it hasn't been a problem because generally loans were for young players looking to gain some experience.

With City's unlimited spending on wages, they can buy players they don't need and loan them back to other competitors. See Santa Cruz or Jo or Wayne Bridge, or Adebayor. These aren't unproven 20 year olds that may or may not even be in matchday squads, these are players the teams will be built around.

In about 12 months time (or even January) we're going to see the same happening with Milner and possibly Barry. And since no one else will pay the ridiculous wages of City, those players will be loaned out, subsidised by the Sheik.

But hey, who cares right? You've got your sugar daddy so fingers in ears na-ne-na-na-na etc. You will win the league, likely this year. So congrats on that.

And since you're responding on here, can you please give me 1 convincing reason why Mansour has paid over £1bn for a team he's been to see once?

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

To sum it up, we loaned out young players like Cleverley and Welbeck, and they came back as pretty much first team players now. That was the intention with the loan, give them the experience that we couldnt give at the time.
City loan out the kind of players who'll most likely be sold the moment the loan period finishes. Which begs the question, why didnt they sell them in the first place? You did that with the likes of Bellamy, Robinho, and you almost know for the fact that guys like Santa Cruz and Adebayor arent coming back.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

With City's unlimited spending on wages,
Yep, FFP makes sure we have unlimited spending on wages. :FAIL:

Can you give me one good reason why Uncle Malcolm has leeched over £200 million from 'the biggest, best, most historical club in the World™"?

Facts are, it doesn't matter, so what, he's not as big a City fan as me, or the rest of us, using that as a stick to beat us..fucking lol.
