I love how people are bringing up the Cantona incident as if it's a worthy argument. He was racially abused & reacted in a way that a lot of people would.
We didn't make excuses for him, just accepted the punishment & moved on.
Evra on the other hand, reported it (so did "the right thing"), and still he gets treated as the criminal. Maybe he shouldn't have done what he did at the end of the game, although he clearly told the ref what he was doing & wasn't stopped. In the post match interview it was mentioned to SAF, and he admitted that it was wrong of Evra to do it.
Suarez could have avoided the entire shit storm by holding his hands up & apologizing as soon as the row started (something along the lines of "I didn't realise it was wrong over here, and will learn from it"). Then there would have been no problem, no 8 game ban, and no lynching from fans & media.
Sadly I can't it ending anytime soon, which is a shame as it detracts from the main thing - football!
