At this point, PES6 is the only PES title that can realistically be played online and is arguably the only game on EvoWeb that has a growing playerbase and future.
PES3, PES4 and PES5 are effectively dead games with virtually no remaining player base online and offline. Same with PES 2021 it has quite a few editors here on evoweb , but compared to pes6 it has nothing elsewhere on the web (YouTube, Facebook, Discord etc) and does not even have an online server.
So if you would like to play online, your best bet is to go with PES6 and create an account here: https://pes6.es/frontend/
That server hosts 3000 matches per day. PES6 has an estimated 50,000 active players world wide (online and offline ) and about 10,000 of these players log into its two most popular servers each week.
For online play, you only need the original game (no patches are required)

Well PES 2009 works via LAN but its very hard to setup

That the thing
Its fucking hard to get the files that works because the files are so old that they dont work on Windows 11
Install suitable operating system (Windows XP, Windows 7) to additional hard drive (that you can On and Off from PC system) and solve your issues with instability of working additional tools for network play.
This is not a problem in current times, when very easy to get separate HDD drive.

What I am gonna do is installing a VM and go from here
But would be cool to have more people here playing PES 2008 online, PES 2009 online,etc
Use this disc only for playing in online and no any troubles with security.
Because if on this disc will be only Windows and few old games with tools - for whom this will be interesting ?
And what afraid to lost ?
It's in most cases just question "who can organize whole stuff good and safe way".
