PES2008 PS2 version is the lost game / video thread

Hi All,

I had a random question please, just started a new ML on PES2008 using the Laziale OF.

I selected professional as the starting difficulty, in hindsight this was a bit optimistic. I forgot how challenging this game was, especially when starting with the default ML team.

It won’t let me change the difficulty in the ML settings, am I right in thinking that on 2008 you can only change difficulty again at the end of each season? Thanks 👍🏻

I.did not know this feature. I thought once you pick the difficulty you cannot change it anymore.

The only doubt I had is if you enable the option to change the environnement settings when setting up your ML

Cheers @Juventino32 - That’s a good point, I wonder if I have missed something when setting the ML up.

I seem to definitely recall the option to adjust the difficulty at some point, but I am stretching back nearly 20 years 😂
 
Without deleting yours, try to create a new one, pay attention to enable the possibility to adjust the environnement settings and try to modify the difficulty.
If you can, probably you'll have no choice with your initial ML

Nice one mate, I just tried exactly that but I could not see any setting beforehand that would allow me to impact whether or not I could adjust the difficulty mid-season.

Not sure if it matters but it is PSP version 👍🏻

Actually if i remember right Cyprus has the mayority of their squad licenced in several games from Pes2008 to 2014, it's sad that after all these years there is no easy way to extract physical appearance data from all these hidden players, like a tool with CSV export for example.
 
This game is so challenging, the AI and game mechanics are ruthless. It has actually made me realise how easy we have it with the modern football games.

Try and play a pass with your back to play - 9 times out of 10 it will fail.

Try and shoot whilst your running off balance - Most of the time you will sky it.

Stats matter too, passing, shooting, control - It all feels different depending on the quality of player you’re controlling.

I am getting my ass tore out of me most games but I am really enjoying it. It is so rewarding when it all comes together and you manage to work a nice attack.
 
I’ve toned the difficulty down to regular in season 3 of my ML (@Juventino32 you can adjust the difficulty at the end of the season during the negotiation window).

Regular definitely feels like the sweet spot for now on the PSP version. The gameplay is a bit less hectic but still challenging enough that you don’t just stroll through a game.

First 3 games of season 3 have looked like this:

Home v Anderlecht (1-0 win)
Away v Dínamo Zagreb (3-1 defeat)
Home v Feyenoord (2-0 win)

Hopefully this is the season that we finally escape Division 2!
