Yes, I saw the game it was offsides ,but the goal wasn`t scored on that play. It somewhat started or lead to it, after 28 passes lol. I think Barca was woeful at the back and the middle too. Fabregas out> Pedro in< brought in more direct play w/ pace . The sub made the difference andscore 2 goals in 4 minutes. Nicely done for the coach.

The difference is how Messi adapted, he was away from the ball ,almost like hiding from the defense. He manage to stay around the 18 yard line . He manage to get into a striking position - was sublime .

RM lost :COAT: How come they can`t fill a stadium? Getafe may not be a strong Football city. They should want to see the best players on the planet, right? I must say ...the defense is absolute shocking. Ok , Pepe is out ...buy someone! The champs are in catch-up mode. Still early ,but isn`t almost a liitle too late. Mou how could you allow a player to be red-card from the bench sitting a few seats down ? terrrible managing in control.

It is never too late. And better to make mistakes now than later. Last season they lost 5 points in first 4 games (draw with Santander and loss to Levante) and yet they won the title with record breaking points total

It will depend a lot on injuries and keeping fit. Last year Barcelona lost 4 players for most of the season (Villa, Abidal, Afellay, Fontas) and had 28 muscular injuries that affected important players who lost more than 3 months of competition each ( Pique, Puyol, Iniesta, Pedro, Alexis and Thiago). And I think that was one of the keys for the title. Madrid bench was always deeper and stronger and they could rotate more the players.

The other key of last season is that Madrid won when they played awful. They won against Rayo, Racing, Valencia, Mallorca in matches they didnt deserve to win but a stroke of brilliance would sace the points. On the other hand Barcelona was very unfortunate in such matches.

So, I'm confident that this season we dont suffer as many injuries and we are a bit luckier. Yesterday we didnt deserve the win, maybe, but we won thanks to a big effort and Messi. Those are the matches that you need to win, and they did.

Ps: we are having problems in defence, the players arent fit yet and we cant do the strong pressing up in the field. Teams are far from comPetition form so it isnt shocking what happened to Madrid and Valencia last night.

that Albiol guy, is just no way in RM's class. had his fair share of chances over three years, still no development from that very unreliable defender just came from Valencia.

great game,
one of the main reasons to be that great is that the refferee doesn't whistle at every player's fall ...
especially from barça
Real Madrid had the chance to litterally kill barça in the first half ..
second half, it was obvious that Mou felt carefull ..

and that Maradonnesque Khedira's effort must have been ended with a goal ..

anyway, every classico, Madrid is more confident, ferocius, offensive ..
but barça still can score in a sleepy moment ..

congratulations to Madrid, even if am not that happy, because I really felt the game was going to at least 4-0 ...

we have been asking for good game in clasico for years and now we had 2 great matches in one week. I can't wait for next one really :D

Why has it to be that painful? One man down and still make us suffer. Oh my! Anyway, great Clásico and good victory. Messi and Ronaldo aren't humans thats for sure!

imagine if Higuain was sold to PSG and RM acquired Radamel Falcao.

You really have a man crush on that guy, don't you? :P

Messi's free-kick was insanity! Ronaldo looked like a wide-reciever handling those long balls to perfection, lovely heel flick to bring the ball down. Poor fabregas cant get a look vs RM. Things love very bad.

I am not really sure :P but I'm sure about that being that wasteful in front of the goal thanks to Higuain and Benzema will cost Madrid big sooner or later. and also I think that Falcao deserves better set of players around him than he has in Atletico. the guy is already a legend for me!

Was two really good games and over the two Real definitely deserved it IMO, with all that said it shows Barcelona's strength that they were down to 10 men and Iniesta, Xavi had pretty poor games they only narrowly lost.

we all know if the tables were turned it turn into a rout.

Great matches, managed to watch both.

Gotta say though, with the destruction at Atleti and the leaving of many Valencia players - are the only matches worth watching in La Liga this season the Classicos?

Fans of the league, when is it going to get boring?

(and I know the opening round has been odd - same thing happened last year, once the teams settle Barca/RM will be > 25 points ahead of third place by the end of the season)

There are far more mid to lower table clashes worth watching in La Liga than there are in the Premiership.

Give me a Bilbao, Betis or Sevilla match over a Stoke, Sunderland or West Brom game anyday.

anyone noticed that Messi turned to be a CM , especially in the 2nd half ?
Messi is the type who wants to create the attack .. usually he does that in the last 30 yards ..
but against Madrid, he wasn't able to reach that area .. so, he was like a 2nd Xavi .. leaving Iniesta as a LM (or AM but moving to the left) ..
only Pedro was able to enter Real Madrid's deffensive area)

in the opposite camp, Real Madrid was able to threaten barça with Higuain, Ronaldo, Di Maria, and even Khedira and Modric .. and Marcelo once (not very dangerous chance) ..

Actually it was because of Xavi who was totally transparent.

Did you watch the supercup?

While the title will go down to Madrid and Barca. The best relegation race of the big 4 leagues was in Spain. The European spots will also be amazing, Atleti, Valencia, Malaga, Mallorca, Depor (great start so far), Levante and if Bilbao gets thing sorted, it should be great.

I love La Liga, I find their focus on technical ability so much fun, and it's by far my favorite league, despite the awful organization.

The problem in Spanish football is not the football, but the things around it.

i still can't understand how could anyone be a "fan of a league". u can be a fan of an athlete or a team or an artist or a writer or an actor... as they all "perform", so u can root for them and feel happy when they succeed.... but how can u support a league? a league doesn't "perform"... it's just a container, a receptacle. u can like it, enjoy it, but u can't be a fan of it, as u can't root for a league.

this obsession about competitiveness is going way too far imo. the truth is, while we all value competitiveness in a league, none of us really considers it to be the most important factor. all the top european leagues also happen to be the least competitive, the least open and the most predictable, when it comes to the final table, and if we were to judge leagues based on their competitiveness alone, the epl itself certainly shouldn't be rated as a top league. ever since the epl was born, 20 years ago, there were only 5 different teams winning it, wich ironically is exactly the same number of different teams which won la liga in the same span of time.
of course i'm not trying to say la liga is exactly as competitive as the epl.... but certainly the epl isn't a very competitive league either.... none of the top leagues are very comnpetitive infact (except ligue un and bundi).

la liga has many issues, of course, but it won't ever be a boring league, as the average quality of the football displayed by its 20 teams is still the highest in europe (and certainly higher than the average quality displayed in the epl, as abou pointed out).

over the entire second half of the 2000 decade serie a had always the same winner (inter) and yet those were the real "golden days" of serie a, as the quality and the variety of the football displayed by its 20 teams was the highest in europe (even higher than la liga's). in the last 3 years serie a improved a lot in terms of competitiveness (we had 3 different teams winning the scudetto in 3 years) but the league is much more boring than it was before, as the quality of the football dropped hugely.

competitiveness is important, but the most important factor still remains the quality of the football we get to see week in week out... and as long as la liga teams will play nice football, it won't ever be boring, no matter how big is the gap between the top clubs and the rest of the league.

Awesome!! :D

I like the part where they start chanting: "Fuck Real Madrid! Fuck Real Madrid"

"Barcelona Barcelona Shit Shit Shit"

:LMAO:
