IMO yesterday we saw an excellent ref... i was impressed with his yellow card for Özil when he asjed a card for a Dortmund player.
I like Özil a lot, but that was very good from the ref, problem is thatmost others don't give them. That way it becomes an injustice for Özil.
 
Well, RvP got a yellow for having a kick at the ball. Reus heard the whistle ,stop then kick it in the goal. So, yes ref act differently.
 
It turned out hat i was wrong about Simon Mignolet. I thought that he should have had a red card, but what does the regulations say ?

A player is sent off if he commits any of the following 7 offences
(...)
- denying the opposing team a goal or obvious goal scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)
 
congrats to Milorad Mazic, the Serbian ref who officiated the Fener-Benfica game last night, he was (almost) perfect apart from one not-so-important incorrect goal kick call for each side.

I don't like how those first 25 minutes look like in Madrid Derby. Looks for now it is turning to be cards fiesta

Yesterday Wigan was robbed of 2 points and Tottenham was gifted 1 point. The buildup to their equaliser was a 'foul' that should never be. In fact, Beausejour got pulled back and the foul should've been the other way around really. But the ref bought Walker's dive, which was a very bad one at that.

Walker had dived identically in the same way in the first half and got a free kick for that too. It seemed Tottenham was getting most decisions their way.

That was disgraceful, as these 2 points might make a massive difference to Wigan.
 
again mistakes in EPL. I was watching Arsenal v. ManUtd yesterday and Arsenal's goal was from offside. Penalty for Utd was spot on, but than later in 2nd half there should have been penalty awarded for Arsenal. So, all in all it seems like result is fair then as Arsenal wouldn't score that 1-0 goal if assistant did his job, and than they just might have scored it if penalty was awarded.

As a Spurs fan i'm supposed to disagree, but i don't you are right. Why do litle teams often suffer from those decisions ?

Arsenal claimed a point yesterday against United with an offside goal. Are United a little team?

I think refs just suck, generally.
 
yes, but than again in 2nd half when result was 1-1 Arsenal hasn't been awarded a penalty that they should have IMO.

Really? Can't have been Valencia's handball which was outside the box, so guessing you mean when Ferdinand and Ramsey collided? Wasn't one for me, didn't even think it was that contentious...

It was in response to the 'little teams get harshly treated' line.

On Monday, the officials got decisions wrong for the 'smaller' club.

On Sunday, the officials got decisions wrong for the 'bigger' club.

I was just saying incompetency isn't always based on the size of the club. Personally I think certain refs are extreme 'homers' and react more to the crowd noise than others.
 
Ok, fair enough sorry for the wrong interpretation in your reply. I get the feeling ref make a grave mistake In trying to make up a previous call. Mutd were getting carded very easy , not sure why. I don't like Dowd he is very shaky decision maker.
 
Of course it also happens to big clubs, but seldom against litle clubs. Arsenal is not a litle club...

Nice to hear that from an Arsenal supporter, I couldn't work out why Dowd was so card-happy. Evans and Rafael were both booked for absolutely nothing challenges, and Valencia was booked for having the ball headed into him from 2 yards!

I just think he's a crap ref, personally. Responds a lot to home pressure too, anytime we have him at OT I'm pleased. It's interesting - Howard Webb is the opposite, he seems to revel in not cowing to home crowds.
 
That 2nd disallowed Sunderland goal that would've made it 2-2 wasn't a foul imo. It looked like Guzan jumped into Sunderland's player and dropped the ball.

Some people need to realize it is just a game. These people have serious anger issues they need looking at.

I hope he does get punished. He's just killed someone's dad who was officiating for the love of it. Not to be killed for it. Without officials their would be no football.

Yes they make mistakes but they are human. I have not been best pleased with some of the blatant penalties they have missed this season at Vicarage Road but you just have to get on with it.

Spurs second goal should not have stood, clear off-side by Adebayor. I guess this is extremely difficult to see if you haven't got slow motion replays from 27 angles.
 
Well gerd you need to see that the sideline ref was too slow to react to make the call. I like to think the attackers getting the benefit , Ade wasnt off by a large margin it was very tight.
