eFootball PES 2021 Discussion Thread (CONSOLES)

Still PES2021 could be the greatest PES since PES6 if there was one or two guys coding and fixing the issues...however on the other hand why would they fix it now if they never fixed it for 2020? Good to be optimistic but i would rather call it naive who thinks 2021 will be any good compared to 2020. Just the track record of Konami doesnt adds up.

The worst thing is not they did not fixed all errors in this pes 20, true problem is even they do not admit his errors, CM Robbye Ron likes gameplay and he does not see any problem, even he said we did not know how to play correctly, all konami staff is living in a bubble so far from community and they can not recognize his own errors, if they do not they will never fix them cause for them they do not have nothing to fix, all is perfect.
 
I don't trust their "several improvements" for half a second. They said it themselves more than once, this game is 2020.. after that, I consider every other vague hint of 2021 being better just a form of damage control or marketing or whatever.

"A variety of minor adjustments have been made to each mode to improve the overall gaming experience" :D
 
Robbye Ron in June: The gameplay will be same as Pes 2020 with just updated rosters.

Robbye Ron in August, after seeing how terrible preorders numbers are: The gameplay will show "several" improvements!

There won't be a demo, because there is no need to make one. The gameplay will totally be 100% Pes 2020.

I'm not saying that i trust him, playing on pc with Armaggedon V2 modded exe and Armaggedon V1 dt_18 is a way better experience than DP8. But some bugs should be hard to be get fixed by gameplay mods and it is possible that konami make a few changes so that these errors are less noticeable.

For a split second seeing that article I believed there might be gameplay improvements and fixes for 2021 but I quickly came to my senses I'm not swallowing that placebo pill

Unless 80% of this forum upon release tell me they are playing the greatest thing since sliced bread I will stick to shouting at PES 2020 until the unreal engine 22 release
 
PES 2021 will have gameplay changes from PES 2020 and for the better. I have no doubt about it. I play PES games since ISS PRO 98. Since PS3 games every patch adds subtle changes to the gameplay (for better or worse it depends on the player's taste). I bought five versions of PES 2014 since I like very much this game, PES 2014 European version, Winning Eleven 2014 Japanese version, Winning Eleven 2014 Asian version, PES 2014 American version and Winning Eleven 2014 Aoki samurai no chousen. Every version had different gameplay and the same with every patch for every version. Aoki samurai version was way better than first PES 2014 European version. I like that Konami puts effort in improving the gameplay in every patch in games that are already sold. The lazy option is to don't touch anything, only add data packs and fix bugs.
 
I just replayed 2020's demo and I just don't see what's so much better about it. The main problems imo (players positioning and ball awareness) are also in there. The noticeable differences are the baggy shirts (lol) and the refs.
I also played PES 2019's demo and it was a better experience for me, but that might be because I've already squeezed every bit of enjoyment I could from 2020.
 
I really feel Robbye reads evo web. Now he is saying that preorders numbers are really good.

Yeah, I played the demo and didn't buy the game on release based on those 2 issues. Don't understand the demo love either. The refs were the main difference. They were broken in the demo and in the full game but in a different way (demo had more fouls called). I think there's just too much excitement at first and most notice the issues after getting used to the game. There was a thread with supposedly nice goals posted in the beginning, can't find it now, and the ball awareness thing was the cause of like half the goals. After a couple of months you really start noticing the issues and ML team spirit crap and other systems always make things even worse and you're tempted to think 'what happened to the demo'. I don't think it was that much better to begin with.

On a flip side - you have AI bashing into you like a bull on steroids inside penalty box and no whistle is blown. Referees are by far the worst they ever been in PES.

You get the odd foul here and there (mostly illogical, random and out of nowhere), but if you do and if you are semi-skilled - 99% of free kicks will end up being a goal.
It got to the point where I was getting pissed off when I scored from a free kick, coz they are so ridiculously easy to score.

As for player awareness - your team is like children in the fog. No one seems to have any idea where the ball is. You pass into space and nobody bothers to get to the ball.
Wrong players are switching, players are, literally, running away from the ball, or not moving at all. You have to hang yourself on Super Cancel to get any reaction from them.
(Which by the way is not an answer. Super Cancel should be advanced mechanics, not necessity)

19 had worse AI (cross into the box + top corner tap-ins being AI way to score 9/10 times) and there was very few fouls there (which might be why referees didnt seem to be that bad), but when it comes to controlling the ball - 19 was far less frustrating, coz your team members didnt act like a bunch of blindfolded morons.

Honestly - bless your heart if you truly dont see how broken the absolute basics are.
Maybe best if you dont look into it any closer and try not to see what I mean.
If you are enjoying it - great. Leave it at that.
Id love not to see any of it myself.

Ofcorse he will read the forum, Konami do it too, im sure, its only big PES forum that still is alive.
 
I just don’t know how you can fix something that is inherently broken? They’ll make improvements but certainly will break other rudimental things in the process as they always do.
 
Hi all....

DigitalByDesign here..Had to re-register as I was unable to access my original gmail account and reset the password..(sorry mods in advance)..

Couldn’t resist the banter and all things PES/FIFA..Naturally I’ve been reading and following all threads throughout the year.

I never personally updated pes20 from version 1 and will be purchasing a disc copy of pes21..Cautiously optimistic there may be a few tweaks and a little visual enhancement.I don’t believe pes21 will be based on the last data pack of pes20.

Certainly of the believe the waters got muddied last year with to much tweaking.

Its really cool place when you hit proper subreddit (r/chelsea for me). Nice discussions, view exchanges etc. WEPES on the other hand its not exactly pleasant experience, it looks like you cant enjoy playing PES, whining on Konami and PES itself are their main goals. Do not even try to say anything nice about game and heaven help you if you mention that PES 2021 has fair price and you gonna buy it because ITS FUN.
