Arsenal Thread

Our Midfield and Striking was excellent. But i still had some fears about our defense. I still think we need to strengthen up our defense. I guess we were lucky about not conceding any goals. Esp. the one in which Toure saved our ass.

Silvestre has said that Wenger wants him to play in the centre. Lets see then, Maybe Gallas and Silvestre might perform better. or it should be Toure and Silvestre. Hes playing against Kiev probably.

Spurs are bottom of the League - YEE HAA!!!!

They only have 1 point - HOO HAA!!!!

They are rubbish!!!! - REET PETITE!!!!!!!

Spurs are really biting the dust. I had thought they would be one of the title contenders but it doesnt seem that way. Anyways, a small club always remains a small club.

Wat do u guys predict the score against Dynamo Kiev? I think it'll be 3-1 for Arsenal.

Just because we are not Big, doesn't mean we are small.

We are a medium club - hopefully going to be a bigger club :DD

I think to be a big club, you have to win a couple of European Champions cups. So I agree in that respect. We also need to be consistant and win the league a good few more times.

I`ll take the point even though we looked out of sort robin,Ade and Fab clean cut chances  Ade`s ball was going in for the goal but gallas stole his thunder and tap it in

WTF?? The referee has again made some stupid decisions. The guy clearly pulled Sagna down. U can see his hand pulling Sagna's jersey. Never mind though Gallas saved us. We'll strike back at Emirates. So its Gallas 4th goal is it, in CL??

and 1 player saying doesnt matter whether we are big or small. We have all the essential things which a big club needs to have. And if anyone thinks that a Champions League trophy is one of those things, then they are quite mistaken.

1st Gallas - thanks for the goal.

2nd Gallas - needs to start to defend. He has been poor this season, and not the same player that was at Chelsea. He spoke afterwards about not defending well as a team. One slip up and loss of concentration by Gallas led to the goal, and the he really needs to be more focused. The centre of defence looked awful against Blackburn, and again, just does not seem solid.

3rd Song - We look seriously light in DMF. Song was just lazy and did a lot of schoolboy errors.

thierry was right.
about DMF:
song isn't at arsenal's level imo, maybe he has potential but he's not playing good enough.
diaby is more atack oriented, denilson is just too lightweight and doesn't defend good enough. again maybe they'll prove me wrong.

about CB:
gallas always goes up with the ball and looses it easily, he's small and doesn't really count on arial balls, on low balls he's not focusing enough.
silvestre...i have serious doubts about him.
djourou is tall like good defender should be, but isn't very strong.

if AW doesn't fill them, these gaps will make the difference eventually.

1. The penalty - terrible decision as the forward was fouling Sagna!! Hopefully our luck will change in that department soon.

2. We should have been 2 goals up at half time. How Ade missed the goal when he blazed it wide is anyone's guess. I would have put that one in ;)

3. Gallas - he looks better when going forward than when he does playing at the back!

4. Song - I thought he had quite a good game....

gallas is a LEFT BACK, he ain't no center back.\

Song needs REGULAR games in the middle of the park, he wil be a fine player

Yeah Gallas is actually a left back. At Chelsea he was a Left Back. I think, Gallas should play on the left and Silvestre and Toure in the middle. Well, that is only when Clichy gets injured, or else rotation could also be done.

Wenger reveals Rosicky latest

Gunners boss hopeful playmaker returns before Christmas

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is 'optimistic' playmaker Tomas Rosicky could return from injury before Christmas.

Rosicky has not featured for the Gunners since January, after undergoing hamstring surgery in May, but had been expected to make his comeback this month.

However, the Czech Republic international suffered a setback in his recovery leading some reports to even suggest his career could be under threat.

Rosicky's agent, Pavel Paska, moved to dispel those rumours on Thursday, and now Wenger has explained the reasons behind the delay.

The Frenchman told the club's official website: "He is not close to playing again and he has not had any real setback, but the evolution (of his injury) is very slow.

Patience

"The recovery process is slower than we expected at the start. It doesn't look worrying but the delay is longer than expected.

"He had a re-attached tendon that was loose in his hamstring, and that demands a lot of time to re-coordinate the movements of the hamstring. That makes it very difficult to predict exactly one week more or less how much time it will take.

"But I am optimistic that before Christmas you will see him in a good shape."

Of the injury, Rosicky told Denik Sport: "Everything went well, according to the schedule. When I was running long distances, it [the hamstring] gave me no problems at all.

"But when I started on the ball and tried to change directions of running and changed pace, the knee reacted badly. So far it does not allow me to go on in the recovery so it has stopped my training for some time. I am not resting completely, though.

"I can lift weights and do other exercises. The knee simply must get down. It does not mean at all though that I have to end my career.

"I don't understand how it could have been published as no-one has spoken with me on this issue. This news have come out probably because I was expected to return in September, which failed.

"This injury is unusual and odd. Doctors tell me that the pain can fade away quickly and I can be back in three weeks, but it can also take more time.

"That is why I have to be patient. Every such treatment can bring unexpected problems with it. That is what has happened now so my return will be delayed."

Eduardo

Wenger also gave an update on long-term injury victim Eduardo, who suffered a broken leg against Birmingham in February.

"He is still very much on course and he could be a very good surprise because he is a little ahead of schedule," Wenger added.
