No harm starting Bendtner, I would like to see him play a bit more. I think Cesc should be rested though and maybe Nasri. See how we get along without them for a half. Then if we need them bring them on.

He doesn't need to play in games that he doesn't need to though. Still over half a season to go, if he plays and gets injured then it is a bit of a waste.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to give Van Persie some much needed minutes or is he still not ready for a start?

The most stonewall penalty you have ever seen not given and Vela yellow carded?! Fucking ridiculous!

Ohhh yes that was what we needed 2-0 loss to Braga!!
I am absolutely frustrated about this game and about how Arsenal can't concentrate on these games against mid teams!
Frustrated about the referee wasnt booking players when needed only 2 yellow cards to Braga and 5 to Arsenal, when there rodriguez and matheus should be surely booked for poor challanges!Didn't get penaly when there was instead get card i think this was decisive moment at the game!AND THE MOST IMPORTANT GET FABREGAS AND EBOUE INJURED! Thats nice now we are second in group and probably we will gona be kicked out of CL.

Bendtner was ridiculous! atrocious! always going to the wing. did he see some nice chicks there? never ever beeing there for the cross or to muscle some defenders around. and he's touch is galaxies way to heavy.

also: we make the random forward look like ronaldo (the original).

I didn't think Bendtner was that ridiculous to be honest. He was trying different things to get through the Braga team that was all in their own half.

He was trying different things to open them up. I don't see that as being a negative. I see it a negative that he felt he needed to do that because our team were making no clear cut chances. He actually made one of our clear cut chances from the wing with a great dinky chip through their defence.

To be honest It may sound bitter, but the ref has ALOT to answer for. He basically gave Braga licence to kick us about by not treating their fouls with the same justice that ours were given. I also don't think you can ignore that penalty, things would have been completely different if the ref would have done his job.

We should have done more. The two Braga goals were great finishes you have to give them credit for that.

Yeah Jonney lets get rid of Wenger just to fix our defence, then play shit football. Who would you get in to fix our defence?
 
Yeah jonney you want Wenger out but if you win on Saturday you'll be top of the league (for a few hours at the very least). Stop being such a mong.

Braga's 2nd goal was class btw.
 
That was not a dive. Great goal from Matheus at the end. Chamakh always impresses, substitute or starter it doesn't matter. The classiest player at Arsenal right now IMO.

well wenger dont want to buy players who can defend so why not bring in a manager who can. all this talk about arsenal having large amount of transfer kitty sounds like bullshit to me.

He has bought two defenders to strengthen our defence. Both have had their good and bad games. It's more a collective thing and a lack of being able to concentrate for 90mins.

It's not just the defenders that switch off either, the rest of the team are the same.

In my opinion it is a psychological thing, they need to fight every minute of the game. How do they do that? god knows, a finger does have to be pointed at Wenger of course. Maybe a sports psychologist needs to come in and talk to the players on regular occasions. Maybe somebody needs to just slap the lack of concentraaation out of them?

I don't know, but it is clear to me we have the squad to do really really well this season. Just lapses in concentration that are losing us games, not us necessarily playing shit.

I don't think we are playing shit football at all. We are losing, but we are not playing particularly shit. The game against tottenham we made them look so average in the first half it was ridiculous. Imagine if we could do that for a full 90mins and not loose our concentration? I think this is a close reality, but something does need to be done.

I would rather go another 5-6 years not winning anything and playing better football, keeping in the top 4 (challenging for 1st) and in champions league football and seeing how we go. Than playing defensive football with no flair and creativeness. But that is just me.

I am certain we will win something soon but only if we stick with Wenger. We just have to be a bit more patient I guess.

If we get rid of Wenger I am also pretty much sure there is a much bigger chance of us falling out of the top 4 and getting worse.

if thats the case then the likes of united and chelsea must really be playing awful boring ass football. Arsenal are not playing good football imo recently. the win against everton for example was nothing spectatular. it was a bit of a snooz fest tbh and last night i might as well watch paint dry.

Tell me, how many times did we trouble the goalie last night? how many slick one two's did we do last night? hardly any.

If where arguably the 2nd most entertaining side at the moment then the rest of the teams must really be boring to watch.

yea 1st half against spurs we was great and the best football we have played for a looong time but most of the time we have not played like that. we was lacklust with no creativity and flair last night, 2nd half against spurs, against everton a week ago, against newcastle at home and of course our previous champions league game against eduardo's team.

i felt at times arsenal run out of ideas or look tired and knackered?

I do get what you mean. But it hasn't been shit, out of all of those games (on the whole) we were the better team in possession, shots etc etc. But we lost. The Newcastle game was a great example, we were much better than them, we hit the woodwork twice (I think?) etc. They had one shot (header) and scored. They were hailed as amazing and great for that?

Last night for 90% of the match they were in their own half, It is extremely difficult to win away from home in the Champs league anyway, let alone when a team is playing like that (although we do need to get over teams that play like that). Also the constant niggly fouls and lack of sense from the referee made it impossible to do anything, because alot of the times we carved out a chance, we would get fouled and they weren't punished, so they could do it all of the time.

It sounds like excuses (because they are) but it is reality. We aren't playing shit. We are just losing concentration at vital times and are lazy. This needs to be rectified and when it is, we defintely have the players and squad to do really well IMO.
 
I said his before and im sayin it again, Wenger is reading from the same notes that Guardiola, but he certainly lost the pressure and the defence ones.
I wasn't able to watch the game, but from what i heard (on the radio) you were completely smashed on the counter (like Portugal smashed Spain). A team that is always looking for open spaces behind the defence and in between sectors, is making a lot of their players move 2/3 feet from their position, therefore a high pressure and zonal marking is necessary. The same way Barcelona do it. Only flaw at it is that if you turn the events to the other side of the pitch, there is barely any1 there because of this, but not many players have the composure to do it properly.
Arsenal on the other hand do a normal kind of pressuring and most of the time don't "sit and rest with the ball" like Barcelona does so they can regain some stamina while the defence moves the ball around. Arsenal only does that like 2/3 game per game adding that to your flawed defence, you get what you have been getting.
 
I have the feeling that Arsenal need an "ugly player with an over my body mentality"...Van Bommel always comes to my mind, but maybe Wenger should try Annan (Rosenborg Trondheim) who impressed me enormously during the WC (he played for Ghana).

I agree with Bobby that things can only get worse if Arsenal sack Wenger.
And jonny: i do think that Man Utd is playing very, very boring football..but somehow they fail to loose...this can't be a coïncidence. Chelsea were rather attractive (last season: extremely attractive) under Ancelotti, but at the moment they are bad.

I already told that i had the immense pleasure to have been at the match saturday at the Emirates. Arsenla fans are lucky that they can see that kind of football week in week out...you guys should see Belgian football...

I do think you are spoiled and after a awhile one adjusts his standards unreasonably high. There are millions of football fans who envy you...Look at a team like Man City...they have loads of cash and are playing bad, boring football...

Although he is not wothout flows, i think what Wenger has done with Arsenal is immense....he transformed the archetype of a boring, defensive team in one of the most attractive teams in the world, has won silverware (maybe not enough for you...but Arsenal is the second most succesfull team of the Premiership) and along the way also revolutionized English football. IMO he is the best coach in the world.

Edit: just saw on the Guardian's website that Fabregas is out for 3 weeks...that's a blow for Arsenal.

Well, the 1st goal came from a long ball and Chamakh had his sights on the ball ,but he let it go. He probably thought the ball was going out and a Braga player ran to it w/ URGENCY! took his chances and woofed it up the pitch...Denilson doesnt have a defense mentally even Song`s game is developing towards attacking . There`s a time when you really need to look at your players and say does potential count?

Well, they were boring but they used to won.

It's just my opinion but I believe Arsenal needs new blood, Wenger is a top class coach but it's time to change, to refresh the philosophy, the style and the market moves. You can't win titles only with kids, you must add some experienced players to your squad. Once again, it's just my own opinion...
 
Wenger is a superb coach, he just lacks something that Ferguson is a genius. The ability to produce a new generation after the success.
 
I agree Arsenal needs to sign experienced players.

There was a French guy at Sevilla last season... a defender. He's been a pro for like 10 years, probably about 400/500 appearances, won a few league titles and cups along the way, multiple caps for his country, been to European Champs and the World Cup.. can't think of his name right now but I haven't seen him play for Sevilla this season so why didn't Wenger sign him?

And there was another guy, a French Moroccan playing for Bordeaux, pretty sure he had like 350 games for club and country and was available on a free? Pretty useful in front of goal too... his name escapes me.

But no, Wenger plays the kids... what's he thinking!!!
