And as some others have pointed out - what else can he do? When Man City will pay £25m for a player that in 12 months would be free (essentially writing off most team's entire transfer budget) what can a team without a sugar daddy do?
At some point the sugar daddies will become bored, and City will crumble like the fake financial model it's built upon. And then clubs that actually spend somewhere near what they make will be king. Arsene is just waiting for that day.
