Well, from last nights result some shocking stuff. I really like this Dortmund squad and they have a massive boost in confidence from the weekend. We seem to turn the corner somewhat and are playing much better. We need to win the group and I expect a high tempo match.

@pughy I was wrong in my words to you ... I should of ignore your comments. I must of went in a typing rage not in my online persona norm. Did I make a fool of myself nah I`m bebo :))

Nevertheless, i found it a great post Bobby...there was quite some wisdom in that post...i already had a lot of respect for you, that has increased after that post.

Fair enough fella. If I did know you more in here then I might have reacted differently. I suppose things typed online can be interpreted differently to how it is thought out. I shouldn't have called you an Idiot and explained my views better too. For that, I apologise.

@ Bobby - I would have left it but was explaining to Tom what I thought of it.
Talking of friends, an old one of mine was killed from being struck in the back of the head with an object not so long ago so it probably fuelled me up a bit. Nobody was to know that though.

Lets just forget about it now. I suppose it is silly arguing online so that's the end of it from me.

Good luck to The Arsenal tonight. They aren't the team I support but have a lot of time for them as they play the game the right way and I enjoy watching them.

Great result, dissapointed by the goal at the end, but really good and we finish top aswell :))

Songs nifty footwork and cross for the first goal was brilliant and Van Persie is just on fire.

Gervinho n Theo :ROLL: They do everything good track back pass players but finishing is just weak. Koc was very very good fast n strong Sagna job is under threat. Per is still the weakest player ,but he needs more time .Santos is starting to warm me w/ confidences, lovely stuff towards the end they were pass the ball like sleep walkers. Vermaelen is such a breath of fresh air , Arteta non stop he`s a mixture of defense n attack very balance player. Ramsey is getting stronger w/ each game almost like he never had a injury.

Diaby is back ....mmmm interesting. The Israeli is a very good quality player sign him up we need his experience.RVP is starting to boring me , my expectation is pretty pretty high now! ... has a little bit of Ruud in him now pokerstick goals:P

These are good days to be a gooner let me enjoy my Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow :BOP: only English Club to go through atm :COAT:

I think they will beat us in the cup but maybe not the league. On our day we can beat most teams and if our defence keeps getting better, then we have a great chance. But City have such riches up front, if they are on fire it will be very hard to beat them.

You'd be mental IMO. I've heard some talk of Adams and Bould (and basically the rest of the old back four). I hope you do appoint them as it will be one less team to worry about fighting for a Champs League place! :)
You would go back miles if you changed your manager now. I'm happy for Wenger that The Arse have hit some form as I felt the criticism was a bit harsh. Understand your frustrations at times but sometimes, there are just other good teams about that can beat you on the day. No team has a right to win any game and sometimes you just go through bad patches.

About Van Persie: you know my opinion...i will not change it.

But to put it all in perspective, my favourite Belgian team is Genk...i wish we had one player that is half as good as Van Persie...

yea so if RVP scores 40 this season, i bet ou will still not rate him as a world class player. clearly you have a "hatred" towards him :CONFUSE:

I think he is a world class player, but I can see why some don't.

He needs to score frequently in the big games, cup finals, if we get there :PP and against the Man uniteds, Man Citys etc etc he needs to show these qualities before some will regard him as a world class player.

If he can keep his composure in these games lead the team and get the results this season, then I don't think it will be in doubt.
 
I think that the problem is due to the large history of injuries he had in the previous seasons and lacking a bit of consistency in his performances.

But in the last year Wenger seems to have nailed his position in the big scheme of things. And frankly, I never rated RVP as a top player. Very very good, not top class. But his performance in the last year has been quite outstanding and his start of the season is truly of a top class player, a top 10 without any doubt.

Seems that he has taken a bigger share of responsability after Cesc and Nasri departure. So, time to enjoy how things are going for gunners lately! I'm glad the team is getting over the horrible start of the season.

By the way, I know song is one of those players that you will love or hate, but to me seems to be performing quite well lately.
 
Robin needs to bring home a trophy ffs! I can careless what ppl think about Robin call him lucky, call him a tap-in striker or a hockeystick. I don`t know what will happen once Song n Gervinho leaves in February . Diaby n Arshavin are not imo the best replacement for them. I know I`m getting ahead of myself ,but in retrospect we are 2 players from a disaster and football is a cruel game.

Last night`s game was such a battle and we were like trying to pop a stubborn blackhead. No error to take advantage no lucky breaks just kept trying to breakdown a team that felt they were better it almost felt like we were playing a Barca side where goals would not come easy of coarse everything change towards the end of the match you could see how our players felt tired n bruised the enegry was dying down and we witness a team not losing its cool and kept jabbing like a boxer would do...all in all I was very impress. Can we continue this way of playing? not really every game has a different approach. We play Fulham they been on the down and we`ll play to show up and get a goal I prefer anyone else to score than Robin .

Song has been class recently, but so has Walcott, Ramsey and to less of a fanfare Arteta. Add in having Vermaelen back at the back and our team are really gelling well together.

Gervinho does need to work on his finishing but he is getting into those areas and causing problems, if he does improve his finishing he will be some player for us. He offers more defensively aswell and gives more on the pitch than Arshavin.

We will miss them both when the ACN comes around, but Diabys come back is timely and I hope he can stay the rest of the season without injury and he can show us what he is made of.

As I said before, I would get rid of Arshavin and Chamack in January and get another attacking forward/winger and a striker in and then hopefully we can deal with the last half of the season. Hopefully Wilshere will be back at the end of Jan, but I am not expecting much from him this season as it will take a few games to get back on track aswell, also he might not get into the team with how well our midfield are playing at the moment.

People are calling us a one man team at the moment, but we have quite a few players that are stepping up at this moment and in very good form that are feeding Van persie his goals.
 
rvp just provides the finish touches in our squad though, without walcott, gevinho etc etc's service, RVP wouldnt grab half the goals he has scores so its unfair to call us a one man team

Thierry Henry hardly scored in cup finals and against the likes of man united, barca etc yet he was regarded as a world class player.

RVP has scored against united many times mate and only this year, city have become a big team. We have hardly been in many cup finals over the past 5+ years so i cant see how we should judge RVP based on cup finals.

i remember RVP scoring an equalizer and broke one of his muscles/bones somewhere in his feet due to him stretching and scoring that goal.

the guy is class. always has been a world class player. its like saying Robben too is not a world class player and his injuries are just as worse then RVP's yet most classes robben as a world class player.

i cannot for the love me understand why anyone would think RVP is "not" a world class player especially by some people who rate adebayor higher :CONFUSE:

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of all of his goals and how many were against each team? can you get those statistics from somewhere?

Drives me mad when people say a team is a one man team. They say it about Suarez atm. They said it about Gerrard in the past. Well stick them out on the pitch on their own so it's 1 v 11 then.

There is no such thing as a one man team. Great individuals who have magic moments but they would be nothing without the players around them providing them with support.

Honestly, the saying just winds me right up.
 
I'm not saying that winning things makes you world class (I have already said I think he is) but some people may see this and two stand out as winning regularly and in important competitions and the other really doesn't? It is important as a world class player to win things, but doesn't define a world class player.

Robben has been with 4 clubs and Henry in 3 clubs, RVP only has been with two clubs.

Seriously, it doesnt matter if RVP wins less trophies then others. its how a person performs at the very top level is what counts and RVP without a doubt has performed in CL football for many seasons and also in one of the toughest leagues in the world, the PL.

So bobby, by your definition/point, Fabregas before he joined barcelona wasnt a world class player either?

How many trophies has David silva won incidently? And modric? both classed as world class players by the way.
 
Cesc won the Euros and World cup while at Arsenal ;)) also Silva I think.

Modric has won the croatian league 3 times and their cup and super cup ;))

Again I am just trying to see it from others perspectives, you are preaching to the converted here :))
 
I'm surprised it's such a debate, his current form I'd presume would just confirm it, I think he's had it in him for years just never had the chance to show it consistently.

Even when he was injured all of the time his ratio to goals per game was still great. there was that statistic that he was the most efficient striker in the world over the last couple of seasons? if that is correct? I hear a lot of people say it, but it might be like people saying there are 3 Women to every man in Nottingham, when actually it is not true and is really more like 50-50 :DD

I think he is amazing and definately world class, long may it continue. But if we don't win anything this year or don't come any where near, then he will want to leave and that is going to hit us big time.
