gutted result ! Ashavin meh what happen? Ramsey really could`ve score those chances. Oh well, urgency came on too late .

I haven't seen it, but really dissapointed in the result, glad to get the point in the end, but at home we should be doing better.

Oh well next game hopefully we can do better.
 
I`m not sure MOTD will even show in full details. Arshavin looks shadows of himself . Once Gervinho n Diaby came on and took Per and Ramsey off we looked better ,but Chamahk swapped w/ Arshavin even got more lethal.

Ramsey has energy n moves the ball well I think Arteta and him play too similar and doesn`t contrast enough. Diaby size n movement is good ,but we need a mid w/ shooting boots.

anyways i saw last 30mins of the match. poor. ashavin was downright poor and the goal? i dunno, verimator tried to clear it but instead scored for them.

we must learn how to fucking kill the game off early on
 
main problem was arsenal started alot slower than they usually do, first half wasn't what I was expecting, it was only til they conceded that they went up another gear, if they did this at start of the match, I'm sure would have been 2/3 - 0 easily but wasn't to be.
 
Cruijf is a football genius as a player and as a coach, but concerning Ajax he is a major pain in the ass. I don't like Van Gaal much, but Cruijff is playing this personal because he does not like the man.
What Ajax does with their former players is fantastic. Last summer my son was tested at "De Toekomst", the youth centre of Ajax. He had to do exercises and play a match while supervised by Wim Jonk (who now has taken Cruijff's side and wants to resign). My son was given shoes with a chip and his match was tracked by a GPS-systeem and analysed by a computer. As a father i could watch it and was given feedback about the prospects and the weak and strong sides of my son. Jonk and his staff advised me to let him enjoy himself, which was always the intention. I was both impressed by the level of know how, the technical support and the way they approach these very young players, like childeren and very low key...Ajax are miles ahead of the rest of Europe concerning youth prospection and the methods to test and analyse young players.

Concerning Arsenal's match against Fulham: Fulham fully deserved the draw. Good for Vermaelen that he could undo his unfortunate owngoal.
 
Going to be very tough tonight, after thinking about it and the team we will probably put out compared to theirs then we will do well to beat them. Man city's second string is still a top side and we will be playing our fringe players that just aren't as good at the moment.

But who knows, anything can happen :DD

On the Arsenal book I am reading, it is really good. Just the period that I grew up with and great to learn what was happening behind the scenes. Alot I have heard of briefly, but it is great to get a bit more of an indepth feel of it.

Hearing about how Spurs could have had both Bergkamp and Arsene makes me all warm inside :DD and how when they signed Ian Wright he just sat down and said 'Where do I sign?' and didn't even bother reading the contract or wages or anything, he just wanted to sign.

Also just after signing Bergkamp it was just after his agent mentioned his fear of flying.

Interesting about Dein and obviously I have only read a couple of chapters, but he did do alot for Arsenal, just a shame he tried to force his hand and piss off the other board members. It would have been great to keep him and his passion for Arsenal, but I understand why he had to go.

Funny hearing how Dein was frightened by George Graham aswell....and most of the team :LOL:

Just a great read at the moment, I'm going to the park now to read some more on this sunny November day :DD
 
Dein wanted to move to Wembley he feared they wouldn`t have enough for transfers and to go through a trophy drought would be unthinkable :)) .

In the end he had a short term vision he did great working w/ Arsene . Having the stadium long term put us on the map, Plus open doors to get into real estate market as a club is massive . That trophy drought I couldn`t see it but Dien was spot on in that aspect :SMUG:
 
I'm proud of the young lads of today, especially Coquelin, Chamberlain and Frimpong showed pure class.
We were the better team and with a classy striker, Chamakh was poor again, we would have won that match.
City had so much more experienced players on the pitch and one counter attack killed that game off.

Today the individual class and not the better team won.
 
no doubt our young players did fairly well... city had their strong players and gave them a match. It was a good fair match!!
 
Chamakh had a decent game, he held the ball up well and played it on, he should've scored at the end yeah but arsene must have told him to hold it up and play to either wing.
 
chamakh was playing w/ a cold kept coughing about he did well, that 6'8" keeper was very good. I hope Liverpool win the cup they look very good from a highlight perspective and that w/ a their 2nd team / rotating team

I can't wait to see how our young/fringe players play tonight, will be a big test for them away at Olympiakos. If we get any sort of result I will be impressed.

The win at the weekend was great and if we want to make any leaps and bounds, we need to be winning games like that on a more consistant basis.

We have a tough few weeks ahead with Everton and Man City, but giving our players a rest today should help quite a bit.

If we get 4 points out of the next 2 games we have to be very happy with that, I'm just hoping it isn't 1....or none :((

We really need to show that we mean business and the next two league games will go some way to showing that.
 
indeed. a bit of a shame i will miss half of the 2nd half :(

Glad to see Arsenal looking much better, safe to say you have turned the corner from early on. January I think you need to spend a bit of money on a player who can score to take some of the burden of RVP (whether its from wide or midfield)
 
Oh well, that didn't go as planned. Always knew it was going to be tough.

Really dissapointed with the injury to Santos, means we will have to rearrange our defence again. Hopefully Gibbs will be back soon.

At least alot of our main players had a rest. Hopefully it doesn't effect our form going forward.
 
Yeah Andrei has definitely gone downhill and I see it getting much worse in the near future! He used to be an absolute beast! But nowadays, he's just decent and given his attitude, age and inconsistency, I'd cash in on him before it's too late at the first opportunity!

He used to be phenomenal but only showed his talents at Arsenal in glimpses only and very sporadically. In Zenit, he was definitely one of the world's most effective attackers. That was his peak. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back there. They've a great team and they want their fav son back I'm sure. Even if this time around, he won't be playing as huge a role.
 
Yep he just doesn't seem to have the desire anymore. It looks like he has resigned himself to the fact he is behind Gervinho and doesn't really want to do much to change that?

It would be good to sell him in January and get another player in.
 
Arshavin is an enigma to me...he has everything to be one of the best players in the world...IMO he would be better in a more central role. As for his underachieving, i don't know what it is...home sick? Not the most intelligent person? He reminds me of Reyes who also had the potential to be a top class player, but never made it...
 
When he first came he was brilliant, I thought we had somebody special on our hands. But I really don't know what it was either, maybe he thought he was too good and let the hype get to him? who knows? maybe if we had the invincibles team and he was a luxury player, he would have been great. But in the period we are now, we need players to stand up and be counted and work for the team and he rarely does that.

It is a big big shame, because he could have made himself into an Arsenal Favourite or even Legend if he put his mind to it, he really does/did have the ability, but something mentally just isn't right.

I think I remeber reading a couple of years ago that on a few occasions he was thinking about quitting football, even when he was successful. This might be a reason, maybe he just doesn't enjoy playing it as much?

Oh well, if he leaves in January I think most fans wouldn't blink an eyelid at it and would welcome it, as long as we got someone to replace him.
