I turned on the game in the 70th minute and I saw 11 defenders in the WHU box.

I was wondering what was going on...

Then I saw that Sam Allardyce is their coach.

Haha.. That made sense straight away then!

What a 2nd half Cazorla had! He's a pure playmaker, that classic number 10 (even though he wears 19).
But he was the maestro really.

Big thumbs up for the big man Giroud too. A goal and a really nice assist to Walcott.

Theo did really well too, but I just don't buy that story of renewing his contract only if he plays central striker. If he continues to play wide as tonight, that's not to say he wouldn't have the chances to score, such as this one he took really well today.

3 points away, very good stuff!

PS: Mertesacker is the key! See how we defended better today - and it was good to see at some point all of our classy defenders (Merte, Verm and Kos)
 
Giroud's performance was particularly amusing given how the commentators couldn't stop praising Carroll, when he wasn't even the best target man on the pitch.
 
Giroud needs to work on his diagonal finishing, if you know what I mean.

I think this is the 4th or 5th time this season he has lurked behind the defense to latch on to a through ball. Facing away from the goal lying to the right of him, he shoots it in with his left foot. So far each time, it has either hit the side netting or the keeper.

I know it is a hard position to finish from, especially when the keeper closes down, but it is likely that he will continue to get these positions throughout the season. Converting can be difference for the team and his career.

Maybe try a slight chip, mate? Or a second touch to set up a lay-it/nutmeg with your right foot?
 
Per is clever and calm :)) Cazorla is a sublime player that is always running and it looks like Ramsey is starting to click, I credit Cazorla`s presence w/ Arteta`s brilliance.
 
Some risky moments yesterday but what a game from Cazorla and Arteta.

I know it is no point doing but imagine if we had kept fab in that midfield and van Persie up front, that would be great....ooh well :))

I am liking Giroud though he isn't scoring much, but he does really help out the team in other ways. With other players scoring anyway it doesn't really matter that he isn't scoring loads, he is assisting which is just as good.

It would be great if theo got over his central striker thing as he could do really well staying with us where he is and is obviously getting the goals. But it would do any Harm to play him in the centre for a couple of games to see what he can do.

Anyway great result and Cazorlas goal was great!

Definitely up there, the way he has just Slotted into the team has been amazing, he is pure quality. But I think Arteta has a shout for best player as well, the guy is just fantastic plays his role to perfection.
 
The two Spaniards are incredible!

Always been a fan of Arteta and glad to see him being given the recognition he deserves at last! He's playing a superb role for The Gunners!
 
But can you imagine this Everton with Arteta? That would be superb.

And Cazorla: once i knew he would come to Arsenal, i was over the moon. He's one of my favoured players, but i can't see much La liga football. I don watch an awfull lot of EPL and he is such a joy to watch.

I haven't heard/read anything where people think Cazorla was a nobody before? People have said how much of a great player he was before he joined us and that we were lucky to get him for 16 million.

He was already great with Villareal.

I've seen your reply about John Motson, but aren't you just pissed about Wenger? And why on earth?

John Motson suggested Arsene had unearthed another gem, which is obviously ludicrous, as many people have pointed out on various sites. I wrongly thought all Arsenal fans were aware of it, my bad.

Edit: I've no interest in going into other teams topics just to be critical or inflammatory, I like this current incarnation of Arsenal a lot and Cazorla is a great part of it.

I don't know what "snappy" means, but i think i do.
I'm actually a Spurs fan... but i'm a big admirer of Wenger (actually i'm just reading a book about Arsenal and Wenger and i just read that Wenger could have gone to Spurs if they wanted him...typically Spurs to shoot oneself in their own foot, oh and Bergkamp also wanted to go to Spurs, it was his favourite club, he admired Hoddle according to the same book).
And i genuinely believe that you didn't want to be critical or inflammatory.
I'm not a native speaker and by calling your post "silly", i didn't mean no harm...i was just a litle bit amazed by your sarcasm, but it's clear i missed something...

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and all that and even worse on the internet when you can't even tell when someone is being that way. Bad news for someone like me, who's sarcastic far too often for my own good.

I like Wenger too, the only problem I have with him as a manager is his demeanor during or after a difficult game. I've said it before, but I think he absolutely crumbles emotionally, you can see it written all over his face and when he speaks, like after the Chelsea game.

If I was an Arsenal player he wouldn't inspire me with much confidence after a loss, the likes of Mourinho or Ferguson will show anger at decisions against them, much to the frustration of rival supporters who'd prefer some humility, but it often at the very least deflects attention from their players, I also think it's a much more powerful form of motivation than the dejection Wenger shows. Although it does make it very clear how much Wenger cares about his team and I suppose some players would prefer his calm approach, so perhaps I'm being unfair.

Anyway Arsenal bounced back from the Chelsea game with 2 victories, so perhaps it'll be different this season. I'm definitely seeing a different spirit on the pitch from Arsenal, even in the Chelsea game, the confidence they showed to take the game to Chelsea was very positive for them - despite the result.

You can use a wink for sarcasm ;)) although I would like to think people got my sarcastic comments without it, but most of the time people don't and it ends badly :))

I think Wenger does show the anger on the pitch and emotion, he has been fined and banned so much over the last couple of seasons it is ridiculous :LOL:

He is willing to have a 'pop' when needs be. His attitude in the dressing room however could be different and I agree on this point. I think he does treat players too soft and is some of the reason (small percentage) we have crumbled in recent seasons, so I get where you are coming from.

Unfortunately it's a trend.

And yeah Shearer was one of my favorite players growing up! What a striker! Guy could score any type of goal and to this day, there are few who can head the ball like him!

But as a pundit, it's true, he is best off silent! I'd say he's watched LESS than 5 games from outside EPL (Other domestic leagues even top ones like Bundesliga, La Liga etc.) in his LIFE judging by the way he talks! :LOL:
He's completely clueless about Football outside of England! Clearly has a small world....

One of the major reason why I think EPL is in inferior league to la liga!

The way he stand out on the pitch and made EPL players look unskilled and with no technical ability...yet In la liga he didnt stand out that much as most player in la liga have way better technical ability than most player in the EPL.

it really puts the whole self sustaining discourse in a correct light: it has become a unique selling proposition rather than an expression of status-qvo.
our commercial income is laughable (especially comparted to Liverpool! let's compare ouselves to someone closer to us as Man Utd are only surpassed by Bayern, football performance was no impediment for them)and the base of the policy is player sale, it's easier.

We had to tie ourselves down to finance the stadium, apparently in 2013/2014 we can increase this considerably. They have been very honest about that, they are not trying to hide it.

All the clubs mentioned are much bigger clubs than us, so it is no surprise their revenue is bigger than ours. Liverpool are still a bigger club than Arsenal and have many more fans due to their past, so it is no surprise their revenue is better than ours, coupled with the fact we haven't won anything for a while.

But I agree more needs to be done, we have been heavily reliant on player sales, but I still don't think they have been selling the players just to make a ridiculous profit. If you look at all of the players, they all wanted to leave, if we were just getting rid of players for no reason and transfer listing them then that would be different. Song is the only player we could have probably kept because he wasn't making as much of a deal to leave (in public anyway) but we have found out he wanted to leave, so it wouldn't have been long before it would have been bad to keep him.

Revenue will increase when we start to do better on the pitch and we can renew/get new deals in 2013/2014. We can probably get deals over twice what we are getting at the moment.

The stadium has come with sacrifices, but there is no doubt it will benefit us for the next 50 years at least.

But also it isn't good that we are relying on player sales to make a profit, but their hands are tied for the next season or so. If we can win something in this time then all the better.
