Arsenal Thread

I think Wenger is holding on to his cards, maybe a late rumor was floating about. I , also think Higuain agreed to some terms of maybe 120k-150k (w/ Arsenal) and no other clubs is offering him that. RM are holding on as well to see what players in what area are available to swoop down like a Hawk!

Suarez seem a good call ,but I really can`t see it. Jovetic went for 22m and they supposedly told us 27m. Either way Wenger is holding on for something.

Yes, because we are in fact going to reveal the signing of superstar Spanish striker Inco Pentance.

It's like going to the market with money and intent to buying a Jager, but the next day your head hearts from an almost French cheap wine.

Arsenal will submit their second offer (£41m) for Luis Suárez on Monday . That is crazy !

I'd have thought Benzema would've been a much better fit, easily the sort of rough diamond that Wenger would have bought a decade back and turned into a world-class star (Henry, Pires, Vieira etc.).

Apparently, Napoli and Rafa are trying to loan Pepe Reine. So, Julio Cesar is up for grabs. The only other team linked is AC Milan. Let's get him already...

I will continue to hope for Higuain until the deal with Napoli is 100% done. I think he is our best option for buying a top striker. If we miss out, I doubt we'd land anybody else top class. Villa and Jovetic are already gone.

Also, I hope we make a move for a midfielder as well.

No speculation coming towards Arsenal. I'm sure we will buy, but I fear there will be no quality players left come August.

I don't think Real are willing to offload Karim and I can understand why. Benzema is the forward they want to keep hold of.

If Napoli are paying $37M for Higuain, they can have him. He's a good clinical striker but not worth that much! I do think he'll do better in Italy than in England though so as a neutral I'm more happy to see that move as I think it'll work better for the player and the club.

I was amazed with his passing in the final 3rd. If he keeps his feet on the ground he might have a brilliant future ahead.

Just like a new signing huh? We can't have Fella, but we already have Zela :P

£4.000.001m ? really wenger , of course Liverpool rejected this , it looks like a joke giving £1 like that

rise for £10-15 mln and maybe you can have him not a damn £1

It is actually 40.000.001 Valon (but i guess you knew that and made a typo).
Like aitken said in the Liverpool thread: Liverpool are stupid to refuse that bid, there aren't many clubs who are prepared to do a 40.000.000 bid for a player that is out for 10 or more matches every season for unfair behaviour (in England it will only get worse).

As a matter of fact (i'm sorry Arsenal fans, but that is my honest opinion) IMO it's Arsenal who are stupid to be prepared to give 40.000.000 for Suarez. I would go for another (less controversial) striker...

yeah sorry missed one 0 , wow what a difference it can make :D

and now this is hilarious :LMAO:

like who?Who can we go for?

Please don't do it, but the first one that comes to my mind is Soldado.
It wasn't exactly a secret that Gomez would not stay in Munich, he went to Fiorentina...what does Fiorentina have more than Arsenal ? Higuain and Napoli: same story.

And now i am talking about big names, in the past Arsenal unearthed unknown gems that turned out to be come very good players...there must be relatively unknown forwards that are good enough.

I will give you one example from Belgium (because obviously that is the league i know best): Jelle Vossen from Racing Genk. He is a goal machine for 3 or 4 seasons now, not only in Belgium but also in Europe... Another Dutch example who played in Belgium last season, but is back in Holland now: Glynor Plet. He also scored quite regularly in last year's Euro League...

Are those players the right kind of player for Arsenal ? Perhaps not, but why not search for players who will become stars...Look at the Spanish clubs with the (relative) exception of both classico clubs, all the other teams are cash strapped...there must be other Michu's out there...

Someones stolen Wenger's checkbook, he'll have a heart attack when he finds someone bidded over 10M on his behalf. :P

I am surprised at this though, Suarez is a bit of a cunt but then again Arsenal were at their best when they were filled with those, maybe Wenger's trying to bring that mean streak back.
