That was the main thing if Van Persie just left, it wouldn't have been as big of a problem. I think most people understood why he would want to leave, especially if he moved outside of the Prem.
But writing the letter basically shat on the club and treated the fans like idiots, it completely back fired on him and rightly so.
Then he also went to Man United which was just an extra dig on top. (Although I understand completely why he went there).
The letter wasn't even that bad, nothing like the one Rooney made against United.
All he said was he disagreed with Wenger and decided it was best to leave, thanked the fans and the club, didn't make any remarks about the ambition of the club not matching his or what not.
I think the fact Wenger holds zero grudge against, in fact they still clearly get on very well showcases the situation.
remember he didn't celebrate last year, yet continuously received not much respect in return, had you clapped him and not singled him out in a negative way im positive he'd have never celebrated.
