Das ganze Gelaber von " wir arbeiten mit Hochdruck an der Verbesserung von eF" ist somit nicht einmal gelogen, soll aber in erster Linie beruhigen und wenn man den nicht einmal 1 Mio., einstigen PES-Fans weltweit, dann am Tag X vor den Kopf stoßen wird, ist es auch egal, da man bis dato ein ordentliches Mobile Game für über 450 Mio. Mobile Sp*** am Start hat. Das ist der Masterplan.

That being said it's konami we're talking about. Back then when there's rumour about PES 2022 (or eFootball 2022 now) being F2P, i laught really hard about it but here we are few months later...

Sounds like another LARP to me. Still, hardly difficult to guess that this game will end up being canned some time next year though, I could have predicted that months ago since it was clearly dead on arrival the moment NFG came out. The funny thing is I don't think even the mobile plebs would accept this joke of a release, probably why they are ignoring all the questions about it. As naf as the mobile version of PES looks at least it has a bit of pick up and play factor about it and is not exactly horrendous by mobile sports game standards, plus as I pointed out once before it actually has more advanced ball physics than this meme generator.

According to your logic, a football game could only be considered a realistic simulation if the matches actually lasted 90 minutes in the game. This is nonsense.

People have been calling certain PES and FIFA titles realistic because these games capture the essence of the sport. Fun fact: Even Forza Horizon simulates cars. Obviously there are simulations that go much deeper, but that doesn't change the fact that you're driving a simulated car.

No, that's a misrepresentation of what he said. His claim wasn't that something has to perfectly replicate all aspects of sport in order to count as a simulation of it. You're just distorting what he said into that ridiculous point in order to defeat it:

In the broadest sense of the word, yes all football games are simulations of football. We would all agree to that. Football is the sport which these games simulate. In a narrower sense, people use "simulation" as an evaluative term, often (too often, in my book) opposing it to "arcade". In this narrower sense, it is more equivalent to "realistic" as a term of approval, and indeed @rojofa's points were originally phrased in those terms ("realistic simulation"). You know what he meant; we all do.

By all means argue that PES or FIFA or some other game constitutes a realistic simulation of the sport; but these cheap arguments where you either strawman or conflate two senses of a word won't get you there.

I've been receiving so many messages about how the game is "much better now" and "you need to give a try after all these patches"....

I know for a fact there weren't any patches, but I thought what will I lose if I try the game again. The answer: I lost 15 minutes of my life before turning it off. Nothing changed and it's horrible to play.

I think what happened is that the 95% of angry players stopped playing it, and now we're getting impressions from the 5% who loved it, giving the impression that 100% of people are loving it now, when it's just 100% of the 5% who are still playing it.

So there is a strong positive correlation between believing in magic & other paranormal phenomena (the numerous patches that never existed), and in liking this game. I had some suspicions.

Scully explaining to Mulder: "There were no patches. The game is still shit".

The least Konami could do for the fan base is to release a roster update for 21, while they work on 22. I would still play it regularly if that was the case. Throw a PS5 update while you’re at it for 60fps cutscenes and replays, the game still looks good enough.

I mean, that’s what any competent development team should have done last year. Keep the good stable version updated for online and myClub fans, and simultaneously an either open or private alpha/beta version of the new game, free for testing, just to get that feedback and iterate quicker.
 
The point about a 90 minutes of football being condensed into 10-15 minutes is a fair one, but even then I think we've been duped into thinking this is the only way a football game should be made.

In a real 90 minute football match, the ball is only actually active in play for ~60 minutes, sometimes much less than that. That's the real benchmark for how long the match duration would have to be in a game to reflect real football so long as the clock stops in dead ball situations (or reverts to "real time"), which has already been the case in every football game I can remember.

An hour per match may seem too long, but especially offline I don't see why you couldn't do that provided you allow saving/loading during matches and/or dropping in and out of simulating the match.

In many other online games, matches can regularly take over 30 mins, sometimes much longer... Dota 2, Battlefield, CS:GO, LOL, R6 Siege etc. People do long sessions in other sims like full length races in motorsport sims, full flights in flight sims etc... Yet football games are always designed around 10-15 minute matches and it's used as an excuse for loads of exaggerated or just plain dumb AI/gameplay. Increase the match duration in current football games and you just get the same hyped up goal fest for longer, not more realistic gameplay suited to longer matches.

In online maybe you would want to shorten it, but even with a match length of 30 minutes, you would effectively be playing as much football as a 45 minute real match. That's probably enough time to have a few goals per match without having to compromise simulation gameplay much.

Anyway this is pointless as no such football sim will ever happen - we're stuck with eFootball designed for people to play on the shitter, and FIFA for skill gap esports to cram in 30 matches per weekend.
