eFootball (All Platforms)

Because this website doesn't really have a lot of people who like the game, this thread is mostly just people venting about the game.
Most of us dont care because these licenses are completely useless without offline. And i think the venting is justified because most people here backed konami for decades and all we got in return was a fake pes trailer and an online only fantasy football game that doesnt even need licenses. Just sad and frustrating because the gameplay on Fuma is actually pretty good.

I'm not saying you're in the wrong for venting. And there are absolutely a lot of people who are excited to see new licenses, I don't know what you mean by "most of us".

In terms of content and database, they got the biggest amount of clubs i saw in a football game, Nations + Clubs even with Bundesliga.
And correct me if i'm wrong but i remember them having /licensed or not/ the more stadiums they never have. Data and gameplay teams works very well and know how to make the game balanced (proved it on the past and some X versions especially 23-24 season) but they're low in the hierarchy : owners and marketing dominate everything and they got to submit. No respect for their artistic and technical worker who could even create a game, the bigs are nothing without them.

For japanese mentality, it's something totally common to follow boss orders and they don't even feel used. But not on a creative, artistic works like movies, manga etc. there's dialogs and everyone got a work to said... Konami is not working anymore like artists togheter like before and like others big names such as Capcom, From Software, or any team from their great country anymore, now they're functionning like robots in an casual factory enterprise.

All those teams created with fake names on nations and some in Btasil, fake kits, real counterparts, there's enough for creating a managing game. They got everything for online, for an FM like career mode, and they don't even purpose something really big. Even got some versions with acceptable/good gameplay, for sure there's 3-4 separate small teams with no communication together, working and living in 3m² case like in China,.

I ressent the marketing teams a finger pointed at us and their, hum hum, the comrade at work and of course the "old crowd" laughing their mouths open. Shamelessely and proud of it.

@subtra3t of course they're followed and played everywhere "us" is just our entourage as Evo-web and veterans players. But they makes almost or even more equality with FUT vids on youtube showing games tricks and cards. FUT youtubers and also players now play that game and some play one session on FC, one on EF. And they got tons of views and likes, it's a fact.

by lot you mean 5 of them. Let's be honest here, Those clubs don't have star power to make people excited. Just take a look at their social media, most of them wanted big name.

If we are talking about licences in general and that's i believe what the conversation was about, then yes. At least that's how i took the meaning "people don't care about licences" but not "of those clubs" especially. I agree if you talked only about those clubs, but even in would have been the same for EA FC or any football game billionaire and played by everyone or not.

The implementation of the new licenses is shockingly bad.

Was looking forward to another Bundesliga team but:

Frankfurt doesn't have their real stadium.

No entrance song.

0 atmosphere and fan chants.

Multiple starting players have horrible faces my highlight being Burkardt who also plays for Germany and best of all Bahoya: quick talented winger with Dreadlocks which he had since last season. Instead it is an unrecognizable player with an Afro.

It feels like 0 care was given to these licenses.

I'm surprised people think efootball2026 is so bad. I understand people are toe-curlingly pissed off about the modes etc., but gameplay wise, I think it's the best it's ever been. Still the best representation of football we have in a videogame, to date. Every update for the last year or so has been positive, making the gameplay even better, and increasing animations etc. I'm currently downloading the new update which just hit steam, so that'll be interesting - something I still look forward to. Still hoping that there is a bigger improvement over graphics, turf etc. + more offline modes/content.

Don't you think that if they just made a deal with Frankfurt, that they need some time to actually create their stadium and player faces?

I do think that if you work on a deal like that it is decided and signed way before the official announcement and player faces and stadiums can be created even before the announcement. Other football games managed that in the past before license announcements or partnership announcements ;)

Or do you think they yesterday signed the contract and today added them to the game. Especially since they do have some new faces for some of the players.

Konami has always been bad with that. Case in point: it took them until this week for Ekitikes face to be in the game and before he had a horrible one.

Even if you couldn't have all the real faces, are you trying to tell me you can't make a self created face with the right hairstyle for a player? Like I said Bahoya has an Afro in the game, a hairstyle he didn't have in the past 4 years. So is a generic face with dreadlocks so hard to do or is it lack of care by Konami?

I still don't understand the point of these licenses if the only presence of them is for the throwaway exhibition mode, and maybe using their kit as a skin for your fantasy team of which, that is the main attraction of the game anyway and that's where Konami want you to spend your time and money.

It's worse that the exclusive licences are wasted on this title when EA at least have a large offline and authentic ecosystem and modes that this kind of authenticity really benefits, up until you can't have a pure LaLiga or Serie A because the most iconic stadiums for the biggest clubs are missing and they have hideous fake kits.

eFootball in it's current form could have a great gameplay (which it does not) and I would still say the game is bad. You know why? And I repeated this topic many times: Because Konami scammed us with PES 21 and now this game. They promised us a real Next Gen Game and sold us PES 21, which is a good game, but compared to PES 20 it's something which could have been done with a patch. It even had less content then PES 20 if I remember correctly. And now after 4 years, after a lot of players spent a lot of money on this game, they still are in beta phase. And you still have hope for offline modes and content?? I can't support a company, who lied to me and never even apologized in any shape or form. I could not care less, how good the gameplay is.

I know we all have very fond memories thanks to (old) Konami and PES, but those times are long gone and in my opinion you as well as others should be much more critical.

Yet every time I've downloaded an update for this game, I have to spend about 2 minutes clicking through the numerous apologies from admin. I've never read what the apologies are for...presumably how bad the game is?

I've not tried the gameplay out for about a year or so now and that is because last time I downloaded it I nearly had a brain hemorrhage from looking at the hideous menu screens and 3 trillion notifications about coins and stuff.

The gameplay could be the best thing ever but without anything to do, what's the point?

I've never and have never wanted to build a fantasy team, open packs and gamble on a football game. Play against people who do rainbow flicks all game and score stupid goals by all having the same players.

There are 2 big glaring gaps in the market that if Konami could be bothered, they could corner.

1. Editing. The beauty of PES was that even without licenses, the community was amazing. Within a few weeks of launch, you'd basically have a fully updated game. You could edit to your hearts content, something FIFA severely lacks. Want to add a Spanish Village team to your game, easy. Want to update someones stats, easy. Want to add a 3rd or 4th kit, easy.

2. Online Master League. I can't believe that it's 2025 and nobody has implemented this. Even if it was solely having to all play in the same team and control players it would be amazing. Imagine the fun you'd have, disagreeing over tactics, transfers etc... it would be such a laugh but so rewarding if it went well. I guess Pro Clubs is the closest thing to it but that's not a Career mode, I want to argue with my 2 lads over which striker we should sign or hear them rip me for messing up as we concede a late goal. We'd probably play it every night if this mode was in a game.

Whole package wise, I still think pes2021 is the best in the series... still playing it today with Holland's latest GP patch, and oh my, is it still brilliant game. Holland's GP basically puts the gameplay, particularly variations with animations, cpu attack, cpu mistakes etc. on steroids. There is stuff i'm seeing in this game, today, which I never saw over the last 5 years playing the vanilla version. So, with the modes, mods etc, Im still playing this regularly.
But... when I play exhibition games on efootball2026, there are things in the gameplay that just make it more realistic and less on rails than pes2021. Player dribbling, responsiveness, ball physics (particularly in terms of weight and speed through the air) is just more realistic. Yeah Konami have taken the piss, but they have produced brilliant gameplay - which is the most important aspect of a football game. Anyways each to their own. Some people like Trump, some don't lol. Will never convince anybody to believe or like anything.

Here's another way to think about it; all the hundreds of licenses that EA possess are wasted because of the terrible gameplay in the game.

Maybe you do not see the purpose of having official licenses in a dream team mode like eFootball, but there are many of us who are excited to see their addition.

In case this comment was not made in jest; the apologies are usually for server issues or bugs.

The gameplay may well be "the best it's ever been", but it's like having "the best ever and most realistic driving physics" for an F1 game with 3 licensed teams and only 2 circuits. It's a waste of time.

I've still eFootball on my phone (not played it in many months though) & I deleted it off my PS5. The J.League and SPFL are the only things worthwhile in the game, and one of them is also in FC26

Perhaps you missed the fact that I have long since ported the gameplays of latest efootball v4.5.0 , v5.0.0, and v5.0.1 on pes2021 and football life 2025... and these gameplays are much better if played in the fox engine of pes2021 (with better physic of the ball and players) than in the castrated mobile version (unreal engine) made for crossover for all platforms and online gaming...

So... no... eFootball is just a very castrated version of PES because of Konami's desire for easy online use on all platforms with crossover. Pes2021 still rules thanks the engine made by konami for it and offline game before online card games (with crossover) became a priority for Konami...

And Not to mention the gameplay of the PES 2020 demo, which was never officially released in the game following the demo... That gameplay is much better than the one played on eFootball with the Unreal engine...

Licenses are wasted in any football game that doesn't have a single player Career Mode. Master League, FC/Fifa Career Mode and hell even This is Footballs Career Mode all were what drive most of us to football gaming. Thinking about building your team, bringing a small team to the Champions League, growing youth players to Superstars and being immersed in the football world. There is Zero immersion in a game with Yu-Gi-Oh Neymar playing Carnival Neymar with all players being rated 100 and all squads looking the same.

I agree with you it plays better than 2021 but see what jay said, if there's no single player offline mode then what's the point ?

Konami robbed us this game from being good to great. Could you imagine if this game with good gameplay had proper offline mode, editing (which makes PES btw) + modding friendly ?

For me there is zero immersion in playing a game like FC 26 with its gameplay, and it is the only alternative.
