English Premier League thread

I do wonder, what has happened to the new era of 'respect for the referees' after yesterday's game.

FW: Berbatov
FW: Adebayor

i wouldn't have to big players as in there height upfront. one or the other but i'd favourite berbatov as his technique is better than adebayors. put him alongside tevez, he may not have the most goals in premier league but he will put in the work for you ;)

I'm over the moon with Chelsea's win against man Utd (it will not help them, but still...).
Once again Queroz and Ferguson showed what a bunch of bad loosers they are. Chelsea's was clearly a penalty and Carrick very obviously dived afterwards...
After the Match Ferdinand once again proved what a major asshole he is...poot Chelsea steward.

Ballack showed his class yesterday. What an amazing player!

I just hope Grant plays Ballack and Lampard instead of Ballack and Essien, as that combination is not half as effective.

Yeh he was quality yesterday, they dominated the middle which was the key, if it had been Scholes Ando and Carrick i think it would have been a different story though :)

EDIT: As soon i wrote it and sent it i new there was something wrong, then realised you lot are playing them :D

This isn't really relevant to anything but today in the Portsmouth Blackburn match I noticed that all of Pompey's outfield players were black, and if David James had played as he usually does then the full starting eleven would have been!

It really shows how far we've come as a country in my opinion, especially as some parts of Europe are still really racist (Poland/Spain etc).

You shouldn't be noticing things like that mate :-pp

there's a strong tie between racism and colonialism, most of the people ignore.

it's not a coincidence if the 3 "melting-pot cultures" in europe (nederland, france and england) were the ones who colonised (and messed up) the whole africa less than 100 hundreds years ago.

sorry for the off topic :))

A whole Black starting lineup in England is something to celebrate of course, considering the immense problems we used to have with racism in football.

up the toffees!!! left the house on my way to work happy we were 1 up with 20 mins to go, arrived at work 5 mins later turned the radio on and its 2-2 wtf.....great game great passion from two great sides......

Indeed. Loved watching the game.

Relegation will be fascinating. Got a feeling Bolton will ruin their hard work of the last 2 games, and eventually go down.

Well for some reason i hope Reading, Birmingham and Wigan can stay in the premiership...
Reading and Wigan because they were magnificent in their first season, Wigan also because they were an obvious candidate for relegation at the beginning of the season.

I have nothing against Fulham and Bolton but i just want the three others to stay up...

I discovered some good players in the relegation teams: Kenwyne Jones of Sunderland (to me the revelation of the season), Fabrice Muamba and Larsson of Birmingham, Palacios of Wigan, Bikey of Reading...

Know what you mean. I kind of like Steve Copell, and Reading, and they put a brave show last season. Same with Steve Bruce.

Some reckon Kenwyne Jones is the next Drogba (the good bits) and i can see it. He's a powerful lad. Expect to see him in a top 4 side quite soon.

Imagine if Bolton go down (not that i care, but) all that work done by Big Sam over the years, establishing them as a top flight side, undone in a season. I'd like Fulham to stay up though.

I think he should stay, Sunderland with Keano are a team that can improve year on year i think he should wait for another season before he goes to a team playing in europe

Well of course, that is entirely subjective but Sunderland is IMHO the most boring team in the Premiership...maybe i should play a Ml with them to appreciate them.
I would like WBA to go up (which is a possibility even this evening).

I disagree, I think Bolton our the most boring team in the league, Sunderland have had some exciting games this season they only just had a 3-2 win this weekend

What do you guys think about Sven getting sacked any day now?

I think its shocking and the owner needs a reality check!

Exactly, Sven has made some quality club sides in the past, Lazio for example were amazing, give him another 2,3 seasons and City will be maybe fighting for the top 4, but it doesn't really bother me 1 season of bit part success gets to the city lot :)
