he may not be %100 fit though
Marc Wilmots says that Januzaj has picked Belgium.
I think he did the right thing: He grew up there and lived his life there. Why would he choose to play for another country? That's what I'll never get, same f.e. in Özil's case: Born in Germany, grown up in Germany and living in Germany, but when choosing to play for his home land he's labelled "traitor" by (at least some of) the Turks.
I think it's up for the player, for his personal believes. And some communities have very strong ties with the "motherland". That's the case with the Turks in Germany. That's noticeable by the first name of the players. Normally emigrants tend to have the first name equal as most other people on that country. That's not the case with the German-Turks. The Haltintop brothers at the time when they chose to play for Turkey said that they felted like Turks living in Germany. They lived in a Turkish neighbourhood, spoke mostly Turkish (with friends and family), so I understand their decision.
But Özil is like a 3rd or 4th generation German-Turk so it's quite normal for him not to feel more Turkish than German, so to speak.
I think is up for the player, really. It's a personal decision. They have every right to choose which country to represent. In the case of Özil, I can understand his choice. He is very talented and Germany is better than Turkey, so it is understandable. Özil is often on Turkish television and he said that he feels more Turkish than German, so it is just a smart choice in perpective of his career.
What I don't understand is the choice of players like Gökhan Inler, Derdiyok and the Yakin brothers.
Turkey could have a midfield with players like Mesut Özil, Arda Turan, Gündogan and Inler. Not bad.
