well i dont believe in Bosnia, Belgium or Ivory Coast they dont have traditional futball culture, no matter the quality of the team. they can do well from time to time but not like the football giants of the world who are there every time

That is a weird post.
I tend to agree with the fact that our national team is overrated. Second round will be the highest possible achievement, then Germany or Portugal will be too strong.

But you say yourself that they can do well from time to time...why not this year...they seem to have good players just like teams like Colombia and Switzerland.

total nonsense.

Is Kyriakos Papadopolous (Schalke BEAST) still injured? I don't see him on the Greece squad! What a loss that would be.

Yes, he has a shoulder injury actually. Although he wouldn't be a big help after playing almost no games the full season.

Greece still have a very strong defence, especially with Sokratis and Manolas

Yeah their defense is still probably the strongest part of the team even without him.

This is interesting/surprising: Leagues w/most players in 30-man prov WC squads: PL (132), Serie A (99), Bundesliga (95), Liga (74), Ligue 1 (66) (Sky IT)

yes any team can achive good results time to time, but eg. no offence :D Belgium having a sort of a golden generation and i believe IF there isnt any major change in youth/coach training in the country there will be no change. Lukaku stated this himself, young players still had to go abroad as fast as they can to develop ...and thats not a good thing but maybe im wrong and there are big changes about i dont know, but just look a the Eredivisie...its like an academy for Dutch kids since forever, yet Holland still can deliver every time and even the Eredivisie teams.

total nonsense.

just look at the history, which countries are there every time? Brazil, Argentin, Portugal, Spain, Italy, England, France, Holland, Germany...countries that have futball culture and their own style, its in their blood, practicing their culture on the pitch. look at the african teams or asian teams. they have magnificint national teams, just look at the players BUT they dont have football culture! one year they have german coach, they play german football, one year they have dutch coach they play dutch football...look at England, no matter how shit they are, they are there every time in the tournaments, perfect example. football culture, and style is a big reason in succes
...thats why my country isnt there for almost 30 yrs now, they killed our football culture 50yrs before. though Hungary was there every time back then as the Brazils of Europe and our club teams were playing the exact football as tiki taka and what Real Madrid plays nowdays.

you are again missing the whole point. those countries which are not present on every tournament doesn't mean they don't have football culture and history.

then DOMINANT football CULTURE and STYLEEEE and not just they are there every time they are competitors to every team on the world AT LEAST, take Rep. of Ireland for example...

style is the man himself, i cant describe much better

Well, in that case Belgium made it to the WC 12 times (which is only two less than England and about the same as Uruguay) does your principles still apply?

Also he mentioned Spain but up until 6 years ago, they hadn't won anything and were perennial underachievers like the Netherlands. Portugal is also on that list and has a great football culture but they clearly haven't enjoyed the same success as Brazil, Germany or Italy.

The bottom line is that history is a great tool to be studied and learned from but as everything else in life, it is always changing and never stands still.

Those nations mentioned above won't always be successful and new ones will show up that can challenge them.

well this thought isnt against Belgium, maybe i came up with a bad example then. my bad. lets stick with the African and Asian teams as an exmaple

thats the point, they will be they play the same style for 100 years or more and they wont get rid of it, its the base of success or to be an efficient team at least. England is a great example for this as i said, or the other South Amercian teams or France...they lacking of trophies medals maybe in the last years but can beat anyone around the world. Ofcourse to wint trophies you need class players and a class manager too.

ps. im not eligible to decide which nation has unique football culture and style(deeper research is needed) but obvious that all the dominant nation have their own, thats why they have the storngest competitions etc.

these thoughts aernt mine, they came from a interview with a football culture researcher ...if thats an existing job, who was searching after why my nation football culture and style dissapeard since the other dominant nation's sustained.

Wow Netherlands lining up with RvP being the only veteran and the only player to not play in the Eredivisie/Dutch league. Crazy. Wonder when the last time is they player with THAT many youngsters or had more players from domestic teams for that matter.

Edit: dirty game but what a goal from RvP..chest..volley..pure sex.

edit 2: despite the tie, pretty impressive offensive display by what was mostly the 2nd team out there today. With Robben in super form still to come to the team, as well as many others, they might not be as weak as initially thought. As said before..their defense will likely be their downfall (as it's been so many times before for the men in orange :/) Blind is not quite his father (yet anyway).

Quite sad how the country that invented Total Football has been killed like that.

Quaresma doesn't go to the world cup! Paulo Bento is out of his f*cking mind!! Could not believe when I saw that... Only Ronaldo is playing better than him for the wings... Not Nani, not Vieirinha, not Rafa, not Varela, only Ronaldo is playing better than him for the wings...
