He seems more dynamic than Carrick. More of a box-to-box midfielder like Fletcher.

agreed and seems to make the difference! We had that once too :LOL: I honestly saw Bale n Rod coming into the MUTD . Let face it MUTD, RM and Barca are what most players inspire to play for not due to players ,but the Club itself .

On another note Wenger is backing MUTD to win CL and feels SAF is the Best Boss and deserve it all this season.

altho in the same interview he said "You will have a Champions League final and only one team has beaten both teams who are in the Champions League final. Arsenal Football Club"

In today's programme notes Fergie confirms we're releasing Hargo. Sniffle. So sad. Guess it's naive to hope he'd ever come back, but at 30 it's not impossible. Such a pity, a real United player.

Surely that means we're getting at least 1 central midfielder though. We can't afford to lose Hargo and Scholes (and who knows when Fletcher will be any good again) without replacing either.

Shame to see Hargreaves go out like that but it's been likely for a long time. The 3rd player will be a holding/destroyer midfielder I think and Scholes will have 1 more season.

Should be a good game today, able to watch United with no pressure and knowing you'll lift have the cup at the end :))

Hopefully VDS can take a penalty if we win one!

All this fuss about us playing a weakened time has bothered me, do we pick a 25 man squad for a reason or what?

The strength in depth of our squad is the reason we've won the league this season, no doubt about it, yet on the final game of the season we're not allowed to fully utilize it?

We'd often rest players before champions league games during the season, and we've even rested players in the champions league semi-final with a mega match against Chelsea in mind. So it's not like it'd be out of the ordinary for us to field a weaker team.

Anyway the argument is fairly irrelevant as we've put out a very strong team. Also it could be and has been argued that a "B team" would have a greater motivation to play than an "A team" who've got one eye on the final.

On another note, really disappointed about Hargreaves, always felt he'd of been a key member of our squad with his versatility and big game mentality. Seems like a good bloke too, so it's sad to see his career end here before it has really started.

Anyone worried that player that shall not be named might not be fully ready for the game on Saturday? I wonder if his selection could be in doubt.

It'll be interesting to see if it's on his mind and it affects him in training this week.

SAF will know if he's ready though, they've been working together for long enough and he's dealt with enough things over the years to know what to do.

It's not like we're a Scottish paper or anything... ;)

To be honest, it's actually somewhat worrying that the mystery player is one we're so dependant on, but keeping posession and a calm head is going to be key against the super-rush defence of Barca. So I do think we need him, at the apex of a midfield 3 most likely. Hopefully the work rate of Park, Rooney, Valencia and Carrick can be his 'legs'.

I love the way these politicians have decided they'll make a name for themselves by skirting the law hiding behind parliamentary privilege. Very strange. MPs basically saying they disagree with the courts, and mocking it.

Not that I really care about a footballer's private life, but it is funny.

Seeing as John Terry got away with worse (IMO), it shouldn't be as big a story as it's being made into.

Anyhoo, looking forward to the testimonial tonight. Admittedly it's mainly to see Becks back in Utd colours!

Should be a good relaxed evening (just like Sunday) to prepare us for the nervous wrecks we'll be on Saturday. Having Becks playing tonight will be ace. would have been even better had we grabbed some more like Ronaldo, Ruud and Butt who still play, Scholes has got one in the summer so some could feature then.

Seeems like De Gea is 95% done, very good signing and happy with that, A new name which has been heard today is Nasri apparently he might not sign a new deal and with only 1 year left on the contract that would be an unbelievably good signing.

Butt is playing tonight. Phil, Becks, Butt, will all come back to play with Scholes, Giggs, Gary...I don't think Giggs will play too much though...we need him for saturday...

I heard Ole is playing as well? Wish I can watch, but it won't be on TV here in HK...
