Manchester United Thread

Studs into the ribs is always going to be a yellow at worst. Was surprised with the red but on one angle it looks quite bad.

With that said, there was nothing wrong with Real's disallowed goal, RVP looked offside for Utd's and Rafael was lucky with the handball on the line, stopping a certain goal, considering his arms were above his head.

Once again its Ramos that's pissin me off in almost everything he does. Can't stand Suarez a lot of times but at least I have some respect for the guy for being a brilliant player. Ramos is a catalyst for everything that's wrong in football. Fkin cunt.

Listen, f*ck off back to your thread okay? Not in the mood.

You are simply incorrect on everything you just said, and doing this to wind us up. I know you've got nothing to do on CL nights, but seriously.

F*ck. Off.

Just because you're upset it doesn't mean I am wrong and on a windup or that I should fuck off

I'm being polite and I'm politely asking you to please at least wait till tomorrow to post again in this thread, it will just cause trouble right now. Thank you.

Caught this from ITV's commentators..."It says something about the game when you have a match with the best players in the world, and the ref is the one that stands out."

unlucky for United tonight seriously i thought they will win it.. I don´t think Real can win the competition, i will hope for BVB win..they have amazing fans and team..

is the ref your dad?

At least Mourinho was classy and respectful ..didn't celebrate..walked out early..and stated in his post game that they didn't play well and the best team lost.

Never nice going out, but at least this time we can feel proud of the team.

Find it far worse going out when we hadn't turned up.

Needn't worry, I did't plan on posting again tonight

Some people have thin skin. I've put up with worse without crying. I guess growing up supporting a team who won sod all in my lifetime has been of some benefit in this regard.

Nevertheless, some good performances worth noting. Welbeck was excellent again, causing them a lot of problems with his movement and hold-up play.

Giggs rolled back the years, as he tends to do in the second half of seasons, while Cleverley was great in the first half but faded in the second.

Danny Baker
"Football. Focus of the planet. Billions at stake. Most intense emotions outside war. And all at the mercy to the mood of one little man."

So true :P

Agreed on Welbeck especially, generally I think Fergie's selection was justified, though hard to say what would've happened if it had stayed 11v11.

Wishing Zidane had kept out of the Varane transfer and just let us have him though, he's immense - despite his error. Diego Lopez has to take a lot of credit too.

:LMAO:

That's all you can do :))

Really good effort from everyone involved, Shame but these things happen.

My apologies for being short with you, but I've never gone into your thread to gloat about something. I actually supported City as my 2nd team when Goater was around.

Still, you have to know what you're doing there. Don't pretend you're not trolling.

This. Proud of the team but if we're honest our first XI isn't as good as Madrid's. Though I do think we outplayed them for the majority of the two legs, it comes down to small moments and we didn't take ours.

If RVP doesn't fluff his chance at the Bernebau, or if Danny hits his shot(s) anywhere but right at Lopez we probably go through.

No doubt we'll get fined by uefa one way or the other for way players ran up to ref at the end or whatever fergie say's.

It really was never a red, nani didn't even realise there was a player there, he was trying to control it, i just found it amusing of all players roy keane was trying to say it was a red, doesn't surprise me as he does work with itv who have the most clueless guests 9/10.

before the red, i can't really think of anything madrid did that really pressured us but after it, there was only ever going to be one winner, shame such a promising spectacle got ruined by a bad call. To make matters worse, only thing people will talk about tomorrow and about the game is the decision, that say's it all really.

I disagree beach I think WE PROVED were on the same level as Real Madrid, would we have won? no one will ever know but nothing to do with either team taking this or that chance.

The match was extremely well poised with about 30 minutes left and the rest of it is just a blank moment with Real going through.

Also a thought for Nani, poor lad was having a very good game and that happens, must feel like nothing will go right for him.

Hope SAF and the rest of Utd and its fans will reach out to him. Can only imagine how he must feel. I agree, he was having a good game.

Wow, Fergie is too angry to do the press conference.

UEFA will probably fine him for that too. And more than the racist fans this season.

Football is such a detestable sport, at the top level.

Its stupid because they want to shove a camera in his face with hundreds of reporters so he can basically blow a gasket and recieve lots of negative press because he'd be out of line but when he takes the mature way out and would rather not talk he'll get punished.

Imagine Goeff Shreeves doing the interview "Sir Alex, we can confirm your team is out! and you were leading prior to that sending off, but you lost. how do you feel"

Personally I think he's old enough and experienced enough to suck up his anger and go be professional. Shouldn't go skulk away in anger.

Sh*t happens. It's unfortunate but we move on.

Is it just me or is there a massive 'anti-English' decision made in the CL every season? Off the top of my head I can think of Scholes Porto in 2004, Ovrebo, RVP's RIDICULOUS 2nd yellow at the Nou Camp, Rafael's shoulder-charge red against Bayern...

Either there is an anti-English bias or the FA need to adjust officiating in the UK to prepare English teams for the CL.

Don't know if this comparison is fully just but in a way its taking NBA style basketball or NHL style hockey abroad. Like the EPL playing style its fast paced and highly physical and requires players to adjust to the way the rest of the world seems to interpret he game.

Nani caught Arbeloa in the ribcage and showing knots on top of that. Whether he meant to do it or not is irrelevant, it is Nani's responsibility alone to orient himself to make sure it's safe to bring his foot to a level that would have hit Arbeloa in the neck/face area if he hadn't jumped. Let's say Arbeloa hadn't jumped, and Nani had kicked him in the throat or face, knots first. Then SAF's infamous "He almost killed him!" would have fit perfectly. In football it is the actual action that decides what is right or wrong, not whether the injury was serious or not.

The red card is perfectly justified, the problem is just that we all wanted 11 vs 11 and we will never know if Madrid could have retaliated with even numbers. I would probably not have gone for the red myself, but the decision isn't as bad as everyone make it out to be right now. Had I been able to see the replay a few times though, the red would most likely be issued.

Spot on, it would most likely improve the league as well as getting rid of a few knuckle buster water carriers with absolutely no football talent in some of the lower clubs too.

Fantastic post, thanks for the laugh. I personally think SAF and a few of the players should be mature enough to do the obligatory interviews without bursting the bubble. If experienced 71 year old people can't be expected to behave professionally under pressure, how can we expect anyone to?

The Rio incident after the final whistle was hilarious, but I hope he get a severe punishment for it. How old is the guy? 34? He acted like 14, grow up I say.

@United fans
Look at the bright side, now you and SAF don't have to worry about congested schedule until next season.
