It may or may not be a dive, but Vidic didn't do himself any favors by going in for the challenge. He was beaten for pace and was always attempting to make up ground. Clattenburg had to take that into consideration when assessing whether or not to award the penalty.

Well, who do you learn that from then?! English players can be just as cunning and to say that only Johnny Foreigners are bringing deceitfulness into the league is just ridiculous. Simulation has always existed and it is an issue that is being brought to the forefront because Premier League teams are attempting to play a more continental style of football where contact is kept to a minimum.

So did Rooney earlier on in the game, but his was more obvious and he didn't get the foul so he spent the next few minutes haranguing the referee.
 
I only mention Sturridge ,because I was fooled by it. I can careless about MUTD ,just stating my opinion ppl here responding to me like i give a shit about Rooney :LOL:
 
wow, all that rage and arguing about diving or not.

Initial thought was that rooney's wasn't a penalty nor a dive cause he was anticipating the contact and took to the air, but then I guess with his arguements after, then by definition it should be classified as a dive. But there is no question about Sturridge.

I'm all for giving time to Moyes in all of my previous posts, however...looking back, has there been any improvement in the style of play or in the cohesiveness of the squad towards being more than a mid-level club?? Of course, you can blame the lack of a quality DMF, the demoralization of the players, but to be completely honest, I don't think he knows what he has and uses them effectively. Instead of adapting to what is given to him, he'd rather want the players to adapt to his style which, isn't fully utilizing his squad nor is it producing results.

And the heavy use of Cleverly to chase a lead rather than Kagawa is just....I give up trying to give Moyes excuses...but Patience is a virtue...so if a few years in the mid-table section is needed to clear some bad blood or get us back on top, I think I'll be fine with it...will be very painful though.
 
It's unacceptable for me. RVP, Rooney, Mata, Kagawa. That is some talent. Proven talent too - not 'potential' like Janujaz. And yet, with 3 of those genuinely excellent players on the field, we had 1 shot on target.

Their ability has been coached out of them.

Moyes has to go. There is no improvement. We're almost in relegation form since the start of the calendar year. Literally. We've have as bad a home record as Norwich, one point better than Fulham - who've scored more goals at home than we have. That is unacceptable for a manager of Manchester United.

Moyes' entire reign is negative. There is nothing better about this club since the moment he came in the door. About a month ago I posted some stats - but basically every stat that is related to playing football we're worse at under Moyes. And the style is worse. And the tactics are worse.

The only people who want Moyes to stay at this stage are fans of LFC and other teams. That should be enough. I hate to think that Manchester United fans might have to start booing their own team, but what other means do we have? Everyone can see it's not working, and there's nothing NOTHING that suggests Moyes is suddenly going to come good. He's never been anything other than decent. Giving him time is only going to make this worse, hinder our ability to recruit where required and see our best players leave.

However, the loudest voice on the board is Alex Ferguson, and he's the most ego-centric person to ever be involved in football (Zlatan aside) and will never admit he got this so wrong.
 
What happens if United get dumped out of Europe on Wednesday? what happens if United slip up against West Ham? What happens if there is another crushing defeat against Man City?

Surely he will have to go?
 
i might ask what do you think happens if he will go?

United have no choice than to play for whatever they are in still and not qualify for Europa League, cause it will be a bid distraction for you next season..

not to mention you will pay him not sure how many milions for his rest 5 years of contract that easy..?

I have to say I thought the Old Trafford faithful were excellent yesterday.

Not many other fans would have 'sang' whilst being outclassed by a bitter rival.

United fans deserve respect for that.

Adebayor is a perfect example. He lost all form due to being exile ,which I'm sure his attitude led him there. You just wonder how frustrated , he was being w/ AVB to get him to that point. Adebayor is too good to be playing w/ the youth team. He is a new player for Spurs!

Playing Adebayor is IMO one of the (many) mistakes Sherwood is making...
And Rooney and RVP are playing regularly if they aren't injured.

IMO Moyes should give Kagawa more playing time...

The biggest mistake Moyes made was not refusing United's offer, and waiting till the first post-Ferguson manager failed...i have the feeling that no matter who succeded Ferguson, it would be a disaster...

I'm also not that sure that a new manager will change much...but i understand that it might be time to sack Moyes...a club has to do something and snet out some kind of message to players and fans (and you can't sack al lthe players).

But ultimately, the players are loosing matches, not Moyes...he isn't on the pitch.
 
Well, Chicharito and Nani are nowhere insight? They can turn up and offer sumthing (spd is very important in counter attacking) Well, SAF thought he left a winning formula. In the past other clubs brought in other managers and they continue to maintain stability. Maybe in the UK it posses a difference . Moye should of kept SAF formula and slowing remove the cord.


I don't agree that any manager w'd made a disaster. Rumours are Wenger wants Martinez to run Arsenal after his Everton spell.
 
Nani and Chicharito didn't play much under Ferguson either the last seasons (something i never understood for Chicharito, imo he is a great striker, perhaps the most gifted natural finsher in the EPL).
 
In Mexico they call him the erratical finisher. He scores w/o composure like a nervous tweak . He throws himself and tries to scores w/ his nose or blows the ball in .

Utd fans are slagging off Cleverley but you needed his energy yesterday against Liverpool's 3. Look at Allen, he's nothing special but did a good job in the context of the team.

Fellaini and Carrick was a suicidal choice. Keeping it as that for so long was Moyes' biggest failure yesterday

If you don't play well against Olympiakos (you need a performance even if you don't go through) and get humped by Man City, it's hard to seeing fans still be patient with Moyes.

There seems to be something seriously wrong there, whatever it is,with the players Man United have got hey should be playing much better.

I am one that agrees Ferguson has left an aging team, but still to drop so far after one season......it's crazy.

And as has been said before Man United are worse in every aspect from last season, I can't see any positives at the moment?

I do think though if you can leave him there and he gets the summer to get the players you need he will do much better next season.......but that isn't saying much at the moment.

i disagree..he is very special.
 
That was a worse performance than the 6-1 reverse against City, very lucky not to concede more.

Moyes did nothing to address the issues with playing against a midfield diamond. It was embarassingly obvious that he was completely out of his depth.

A successful manager makes a team play better than the sum of its parts, like Rodgers has done at Liverpool. The wrong manager is detrimental to the overall team, like Moyes has been in taking a side that was Champions to well outside of the Champions League places.

I'm also getting quite sick of the sight of Rooney and his inconsistent displays on the pitch.
