Im happy with that :))

TheJinxed one, he was unhappy this year but to be fair it was difficult to ever really be optimistic considering our situation and yet he remained professional and never slagged off the manager publicly.

18 in 28 as well as the hattrick at OT against Olympiakos which probably kept Moyes in a job for another month.

more importantly than that, we saw season prior what a happy RVP can do :D

Didnt Van Persie get all pissy and question moyes tactics after one game? I remember something like that?

Robin captain  what a awful representative of captaincy .

:SMUG: Problem?

Not sure where you heard that Bobby? In all honesty we don't have much of a selection.

Van Persie, Rooney and Rafael are the three candidates considering whose guaranteed to start and has some leadership qualities.

He's Dutch Captain under LvG so he knows what he's getting and both seem to get on really well.

I don't think we lack leaders in the squad but not many are in the first team, I mean had Jones cemented himself in defence he'd be up for consideration, so would Evans.

I'm not sure captaincy means they have to start every match. Arsenal's Capt. Does his bidding on le bench!

FIRST SIGNING!

Manchester United is pleased to announce it has reached agreement with FK Vojvodina for the transfer of Serbian Under-17 international goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic.

...not quite anyone I imagined but its a start.

So with muppetry under way, let's play some fantasy football.

Sell one of RVP or Rooney

4 Signings (try to keep them somewhat realistic) and how do they fit into the team.

Sell - Rooney.

Sign - Shaw, Hummels, Koke and Pedro/Sanchez

-----------De Gea-----------
Rafael-Smalling-Hummels-Shaw
-------Carrick--Koke-------
-----------Mata-----------
Januzaj------------Pedro/Sanchez
-----------RVP------------------

No, Chicken Tikka. Although someone who got the same amount of league goals as Negredo last season isn't a bad back-up.

Personally I would sell RVP, Rooney showed last year that he is willing to fight for any manager in any circumstance. RvP showed that he is willing to get pissy for any manager in any circumstance, as good as he is I don't like him and I won't like him any more when he scores.

Also I don't rate Smalling, terribly overrated CB. Much prefer Evans in at CB, and Carrick was dismal last year and can't see how he would warrant a starting place. Then again, we can always use Cleverley.

Because it might get buried in the World Cup thread..here is a gif of RvP's ridiculous goal yesterday:

beautiful! Not many players who can take a ball on the volley as well as RvP

some talk of us being in the race to sign Sagna from Arsenal. I'd be happy with that! him and Rafael fighting it out for RB would be perfect, especially since Rafa's fitness record.

Would cover us nicely at RB.

Club appoints Dutch national coach, who won multiple titles in Holland, Spain, Germany
- Ryan Giggs to be assistant manager
- Frans Hoek and Marcel Bout join as assistant coaches

Louis van Gaal will take over as manager of Manchester United from the 2014/15 season. He has signed a three-year contract.

Louis, 62, has managed at the top level of European football for over 20 years and in that time has won domestic titles and domestic cups in three countries, as well as the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Cup, an Intercontinental Cup, two UEFA Super Cups and domestic Super Cups in Holland and Germany.

He will take up his post after the FIFA World Cup, where he will manage the Dutch national team.

Ryan Giggs, English football's most decorated footballer and the United player with most appearances in the club's history, has been appointed as assistant manager. Ryan took charge of the first team for the last four matches of the 2013/14 season.

Announcing the appointments, Ed Woodward said: "In Louis van Gaal, we have secured the services of one of the outstanding managers in the game today. He has achieved many things in his career to date and Old Trafford provides him with a fitting stage on which to write new chapters in the Manchester United story.

"Everyone is very excited about this new phase in the club's history. His track record of success in winning leagues and cups across Europe throughout his career makes him the perfect choice for us.

"People know him as a larger than life character but I have also been extremely impressed by his intelligence, thoughtful approach to the role and his diligence. I'm looking forward to working with him.

"I'm delighted that Louis has chosen Ryan as his assistant. Ryan's association with the club spans over two decades and his knowledge and stature will be of great use to Louis. In addition, this is a fantastic opportunity for Ryan to learn his trade alongside a world-class manager whose attacking instincts and belief in youth are tailor-made for Manchester United.”

Louis van Gaal said: "It was always a wish for me to work in the Premier League. To work as a manager for Manchester United, the biggest club in the world, makes me very proud. I have managed in games at Old Trafford before and know what an incredible arena Old Trafford is and how passionate and knowledgeable the fans are. This club has big ambitions; I too have big ambitions. Together I'm sure we will make history."

Joel Glazer said: "I am delighted that Louis will be our next manager. He has an outstanding pedigree as a coach, both as a man who motivates his teams to win trophies and as someone who believes in giving young players a chance to prove their worth. I am sure he will make a big impression on the club, the players and the fans."

Avie Glazer said: "Louis joins us at an exciting time and has already communicated some great ideas for how the club can move forward. The board is right behind him in his plans and everyone here is already looking forward to the start of next season.”

Ryan Giggs said: "I am thrilled to have the chance to serve as assistant manager. Louis van Gaal is a world-class coach and I know I will learn a lot about coaching from being able to observe and contribute at such close quarters. Manchester United has been a huge part of my life and I'm delighted to be able to continue that relationship in such a key role."

Frans Hoek is the Netherlands' goalkeeping coach and has been instrumental in the development of keepers such as United legend Edwin van der Sar and Barcelona's Victor Valdes. He joins as assistant coach, specialising in goalkeeping.

Marcel Bout joins as assistant coach, specialising in opposition scouting, having previously worked for Bayern Munich, Telstar, AZ, FC Volendam and Feyenoord.

Confirmed

I am furious. We should have signed up Van Gaal as SOON as we got rid of AVB instead of messing around with Tim Nice But Dim!

Man Utd will be back now, this is the beginning. Some of the players you are being lined up with - exciting times for you :(

Utd's failure this season under Moyes was funny but a bit dull. If LVG fails it certainly won't be dull.

Great avatar Younggun.
With Giggs, one of my alltimefavourite players stops.

As a former Utd i have had lots of favourite players, but he was the one i liked most.

Other United players i really liked: Sammy Mc Illroy, Remy Moses, Bryan Robson, Jesper Olsen, Cantona, Schmeichel and of course Paul Scholes.

Perhaps next season i will have another United player as one of my favourites: there is a persistent rumour in the Belgian press that Unitd are after both Vermaelen and Vertonghen. I love Vertonghen.

This rumour might make sense since both played for Ajax as CB's. Vertonghen is the better of the two, but they might be very strong as a tandem...

Something other i just came upon.
I've already mentioned our wonder generation: Bosschaaerts ( Man City), Charlie Musonda Jr (Chelsea), Januzaj (Man Utd), Divock Origi (Lille), Zakkari Bakkali (PSV) and Sieben Schrijvers (KRC Genk).

Turns out there is a second player of that team who plays for Man Utd: Marcos Pereira. He is just calledup for Brazil's under 20 team (so that is one player we will loose). Anyway, this guyis born in the village where i live: Duffel.

Bit of trivia news, but who knows if i might no turn out to be a Man Utd fan. Steak Bake and RunEdge will be delighted !!!

Gerd, I have no issues with you. I like your posts.

I apologise for offending you in the past and with my harsh words. I have no right to criticise others for their teams.
