EA SPORTS FC 27

As long as "authentic mode" is even a thing and HyperMotion is still in the game, the game will never be good, it is impossible with those animations in the game.
The good news is that I see a lot of old games being revived and probably 1 or 2 more football games released by some real football fans, but it will take time and it will never be mainstream like FIFA/PES used to be back in the day. It will be a niche community much like this Forum and all its mods are.

I didn't buy last year's and I won't be buying this years but it seems the on line crowd are happy for the AI attackers to behave like attckers, running into space making good movement etc, but not happy with defenders doing the same. It's madness but it is what it is

Complete madness. Part of the skill in comp should be picking the right players/tactics/teams to counter your opponent IMO. Yes, of course how mechanically good you are at the game should matter, but so should strategy. That just does exist if everything is manually controlled.

It seems the FUT crowd want twitch shooter mechanics but in football, where it is all about your skill of the controller rather than knowledge of football and then the rest of their game is just a card collecting gambling simulator.

In my opinion what they want is just a different game. They don't want or know football at all. Or at least dont appreciate football in its true form. At this point why not just make a free-to-play live service version of the game and call it Ultimate Team and constantly milk them for packs and "season pass"?

Then make another game, call it EA Sports FC Manager (like the old FIFA manager) and make the best realistic game they can. Completely kill off Football Manager in the process as well.

They just did a similar thing with Madden and College football. Underneath the surface they are exactly the same game. Both cost $70, just with different interfaces and teams...

Man, I was expecting something more. There’s nothing new there; most of the things announced are already in the game. Gameplay-wise, nothing seems to have changed—I already feel sorry for Anth, who’s in for another year of hard work.

Can I be honest? That was a terrible video and pitch notes.

1. Constantly showing womens football? Why?
2. The Authentic Gameplay is literally more sliders with a small patch on Authentic 1.0. We mod this stuff every week in minutes!
3. Constantly showing insane goals from anywhere from anyone
4. Constantly showing skill moves which turn into goals
5. Only once showed the AI make a foul, with the suggestion theyve increase fouling for "teams that foul", this was a "feature" of the previous game...

The only good thing I see is the Transfer System improvement.

Career / Authentic 2.0 Pitch Notes: Click Here

The video and the pitch notes don't give much hope regarding authentic 2.0

The only thing they really touched upon was players get tired and then their stats get worse and there's more sliders

I really hope there's more and they're underplaying it although i don't see why they would

Wait for the authentic gameplay section in the career deep dive, they said. :BORED:

So, we will have a new slider to tweak "Low Driven Shot" frequency.

Really? I mean, really?

Same terrible ball physics. Same players not moving anything like human beings.

They must be laughing their socks off at us.

There's so little about Authentic 2.0 in the trailer or in the Pitch Notes of any real depth.

The gameplay footage in the trailer isn't great either (which should be Authentic considering it seems an integral part of Career Mode now).

Losing hope fast. As always, all the Career Mode sounds fantastic - e.g. the stuff about injuries/reinjuries etc. in the Pitch Notes shows a real attention to detail - but where is that attention for the gameplay (i.e. the most important thing)? :(

The gameplay has remained practically unchanged—there are few differences between '26 and '27. This year really fell short of expectations; I expected more!

Honestly, I really want to know what happened to EA FC’s color grading. Why does the game look so exaggerated and cartoonish? Was this visual direction intentional? Did the developers deliberately push the game toward a Fortnite-like look, or is it simply the result of poor artistic taste? It’s unbelievable that we now have to get frustrated even about the game’s color grading. When I watch EA FC, it feels as if cartoon characters are moving around on the pitch.

And don’t even get me started on the player modeling. The scale of the problem is hard to describe. So many years have passed, and the developers still haven’t reached even the minimum standards for realistic body modeling in a football simulation. What is actually happening inside the EA FC development team? Why is there so much stagnation and so little visible progress?

Game engines and development tools have advanced enormously, yet the developers still seem stuck on the most basic foundations of building a convincing football simulation, repeating the same shortcomings year after year. Just look at the body modeling in the PES series. Look at Coutinho’s model, for example. That series had at least reached a respectable standard in this area. And I have to say it: the Lighting and color grading and HDR presentation in PES 2019 were excellent.

Konami used Enlighten technology in PES 2019 the same technology designed for Global Illumination and natural indirect light bounce. As a result, sunlight, stadium floodlights, shadows, and even the colors of the grass and the stands looked far more natural and believable. PES 2019 also added support for 4K and HDR, which significantly improved the overall visual presentation, color depth, and lighting quality. That is one of the reasons why many players still consider PES 2019 to have one of the best lighting and color-grading systems ever seen in a football game.

I honestly feel like we’ve lost everything. The problems are not one or two isolated issues. Wherever you look, there is an ocean of design problems across the EA FC series, and there is barely any sign of hope. The developers don’t seem to pay special attention to either player modeling or the game’s color grading. And the lighting system is another huge discussion on its own. A large part of it still feels outdated and heavily static, especially during overcast daytime matches, where the lighting on many surfaces appears to be rendered in a static, pre-baked way rather than reacting dynamically to the environment.

We really lost everything. The visuals look worse than some ps2 games. FIFA 2004 looks more photorealistic than this shit btw.

Not this one; after 15 years of always buying the game, I’m going to skip it. It’s incredible that they can’t prioritize the authentic mode—they split up the teams but still can’t make a more realistic game. Maybe that’s why I’ll go back to playing FIFA 17 on EA Play!

Yeah, I absolutely love all the stuff I'm hearing for career too (dynamic overall as well, I think the idea is killer, at least on paper).

It's so sad they are making all those efforts to build the off the field stuff so deep and realistic, while the field will most likely stay lacking.

I am heavily considering doing the same.

We're getting improvements in one area one game at a time 😂😂😂

Last year we got the Coach Market, now we're getting Transfer Overhaul... Maybe by 2030 we get a decent authentic gameplay

Agreed, the actual mode is wonderful, those guys know what they’re doing.

Regarding the on the pitch stuff. I’m not giving up hope just yet. There’s just so little footage and information to make a judgement call right now. I admit it’s not looking great, but what they did mention is promising, such as player’s unique ability shining and the explosiveness in acceleration.

I guess next step is the beta in 5 days time.

I saw the trailer and it didn't impress me. I read the deep dive, it's far better.

New transfer and new Dynamic OVR are real big news. It's change many things.

More fouls is great, but having the choice without mod to tweak fouls is even better. On console, we haven't mode so for us is a little gamechanger to access to more "hidden" sliders.

We saw many offensive actions few defensive ones. It's a world game for everybody so people wants action.

I want to play the beta if I could to play this gameplay. It's not a revolution. There is no TRACAB yet.
There are no big tweaks but little tweaks than we want to.
I'm not hype just curious to see what happened on the pitch.

I watched the Pitch Notes, and Gilliard Lopes, as the Principal Gameplay Designer for FC, did bring some practical new features, such as Attacking Spatial Awareness and Curved Runs. Also, I noticed that the "ice skating" in some animations has slightly decreased (maybe it's just my imagination). Overall, my expectations for FC 27 are much higher than they were for FC 26, and I can't wait to see the leaked Beta footage in a few days.

TRACAB is indeed worth looking forward to.

Just what i expected, authentic gameplay 2.0 is just a bit more changes to EBX/sliders from 1.0. Nothing new. Look at the first video where CPU AI is more focused onto being at the right position then taking the ball that's 1 feet away from them. Literally running away from the ball to go 12 feet away to their positioning. What's the point of all these cool career mode features when we still have braindead Player IQ and braindead CPU AI that doesn't change their tactics throughout the match and easy to score 10 goals past them?

We’re asking for an authentic, increasingly realistic gameplay foundation, and they give us more sliders... :BRICK:They actually have no idea how to do it, do they?

Also no sliders to increase the frequency of passing types like short pass/through pass or even lob passes. Atleast that would be something that's new.

Lets wait for full list of sliders

''Authentic Gameplay 2.0 also introduces 25 new Gameplay Sliders and 10 new CPU Sliders, giving you more control over how matches look, feel, and play.''
