FIFA missed an epic opportunity to have a Cris vs Messi there :p We didn't get an easy group, but A and B are the hardest.

It sure would be great, even though Messi on Argentina only plays well against Brazil or weak teams.

Argentina with the easiest path by the way.

I was rooting for that group because of that battle but also because it had the easiest rest of the group :p

Still though, in recent years, the only times where Portugal did not qualify was with groups considered to be "easy". We need the pressure.

Well Dani, it's honor to be part of the Death Group and play against Italy and the other big ones England and Uruguay, do not underestimate Costa Rica, though we're small in front of all these monsters, we hope our team will do the best to make it hard to qualify

Let's see, I think Germany has the better team in the world now, I'm praying for them to stay out of our way.
Portugal depends a lot of Ronaldo but he is not letting anybody down these days, way better than Messi this season.

Portugal these days has been all about Ronaldo because Ronaldo is on exceptional form. Let's not forget how good the whole team played on 2012. Moutinho, for instance, is probably as important as Ronaldo himself.

The good news is that a group with Algeria, Russia and South-Korea is not the worst one.
Playing in Belo Horizonte, Sao Paolo and Rio is also good: cities in each other vicinity and not too hot.

The bad news is that if Belgium qualifies we play against a team from the group with Germany, Portugal, Ghana or the USA.

One would expect Germany or Portugal to qualify from that group (although i love Ghana) and that is reallyt tough: Portugal thrashed a couple of times in recent history and we never win against Germany.

To be realistic: if we reach the last 8 that would be a miracle....

C, I think, is not the easiest, let's say it's one of the weakest but it's definitely the most balanced group looking at all the four teams imo.

I think D is the most powerful one, and H is the weakest.

no offence to the teams related to my post. just my two bits. :)

Portugal can't beat the US. I see Ghana going through , the heat in Brazil won't be easily played. It's going to be interesting how Klinsman will play vs. Germany.

Yeah, but let's say that Moutinho doesn't play for some reason or doesn't play well. Ronaldo can win a match all by himself. I don't know if I could say the same if it was the other way around.
Even though Moutinho had an outstanding display against Sweden, I admit that I dindn't know he was that good. Classy player indeed.

I hoped that Russia will play agains german and US-american brothers. Unfortunately it'll be very difficult to get play-off for Russia. As I said before: good luck to Honduras, Switzerland, Ecuador and Russia. Hope that brown bears from Moscow will show really interesting game, not like what they have now.

Yes France have an easy group, but also Ecuador, Honduras and the Suisse will be happy to get France, they are not a top tier side, and the players are prone to in fighting, poor discipline and issues with the media.

Well, we got my favourite country (apart from ourselves), Japan. Balanced and tough group, good luck to Japan, Colombia and Ivory Coast.

Group A: Brazil, Croatia
Group B: Spain, Netherlands
Group C: Colombia, Japan.
Group D: England, Italy.
Group E : Switzerland, Ecuador
Group F: Argentina, Bosnia-Hercegovina
Group G: Germany, Portugal
Group H: Belgium, Russia

Absolutely going along with Damjan's prediction. Although this would mean that either Spain, the Netherlands or Brazil wouldn't make it further than the 1/8 finals. And that the Ivory Coast would be the only team from Africa or Asia.

Netherlands doesn't have what it takes to take Brazil out, nearly no one does. We are on our better form since 2002 but everything can happen on a World Cup.

I still think Spain will win the cup buy beating either Germany, Brazil or Argentina.

It's crystal clear that Brazil will have to go at least as far as the semi-finales no matter how good or bad they will be...
