hahaha wtf man!
i hope Costa Rica does has a good run in the WC.. they have a tough group but believe me: we Mexicans will mostly will be cheering you guys in every game

Yes, I know there are some Mexicans who will be supporting us, but there is also a lot that want us to come with many goals and ESPN and Fox doesn't help with that

Spain will get 1 wrong call and Dutch will get 2 wrong calls. Spain will play more long balls then Netherlands . A draw 2-2!

It seems that Modric got injury from the last match vs Brasil...

And De Sciglio gonna miss the first game vs England...

Sucks re: Modric, such a good player. Even though he looks totally different with short hair.

Alrighty, just small matter of Holland v Spain. God bless you World Cup.

Completely different statement: Enjoy it so much to view WC matches with actual fans singing and making noises and no vuvuzelas. :D

So wierd to see a Dutch side playing in a system other than the 4-3-3. But They are playing well.

Love to see the jeers against Diego Bo$ta. He surely deserved that after what he've done.

That is artful cheating from Costa. Magnificent. I was 100% convinced it was a penalty in real time, but man, on that replay he quite clearly stretches his leg out in a non-organic way to ensure he kicks the trailing leg of the defender.

Just wonderful dishonesty.

Bloody fucking hell, I hate when players do this...

His leg shouldn't have been there - completely intentional imo, i.e. a dive.

It's a penalty, IMO. De Vrij "sweeps" the foot of D. Costa. D. Costa "left" his foot there, but the contact was iniciated by the defender. Veteran move by the striker, rookie mistake by the defender.

Contact does not mean a foul. For me Costa creates artificial contact there. He could have stayed on his feet quite ably if he'd wanted, instead he initiates the contact by reaching his foot in an unnatural way to make sure he's touched.

If Costa was playing to score, he'd of just planted his left foot in front of him. He's not, he's playing for the contact becuase he's lost the ball.

It is a veteran move. Veteran cheating.

this is world cup, not a sunday league...a good referee wouldn´t just whistle but would want to look on replay and give yellow to the player who dived..

it´s once in 4 years and mistakes like this are unfair to anyone...

i´m fed up of this and it´s only beggining..

I don't understand how one could even interpret this WITHIN THE RULES?!

Imagine Costa turning like this, kicking the defender in the leg and falling down. Is this a foul/penalty? There you have your answer to this situation, it's basically the same thing.

Holland have been poor. Some real talent in their front 3, but they're not working hard enough to 'show' for passes.

Their midfield is hard working, but has no vision. Can see why LvG was so gutted to lose Strootman, he'd make a huge difference.

And as I say that, a midfielder shows some vision :)

Glorious finish.

Exactly how I though as well.

Brilliant goal by RVP though.

Edit: When seeing PIPA's gif there, if not really sure, if he did it on purpose. He doesn't look at the opponent, which would be necessary to place your foot so precisely on his ankle/foot. Look carefully, it seems like his foot tried to step of de Vrij, but struggles somewhere. Still doesn't look completely natural from this angle. Hard to judge for me, can't blame the ref for giving it, he had no slow mo.

Edit2: Just saw beach's gif and had to eliminate my former statement. Clearly done on purpose.

You are in the spot right here. Not all contacts are fouls, for sure. He assure that was contact, no doubt, but the contact is real. If the ref didn't point to the spot I would be fine with it. It's a 50/50 call. But is a dishonest move.

Well, if you want to compare completely different scenarios ok. You know Calros Tevez is looking just like Jennifer Lopez, he only lacks boobs and somewhat beauty.. at least they're both human.

Fantastic Dutch goal btw.
