Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Tom Cleverley I was hugely imprest.

Its good to see United in such a new fresh position, these young players Cleverley, Jones, Smalling etc wont half give the likes of Ferdinand, Carrick a kick up the rectum. I was imprest by Evans also today

Breath of fresh air

Id line up against WBA like this: De Gea, Smalling Jones Vidic Evra, Nani Cleverley Anderson Young, Welbeck Rooney

Their amazing talents but you can't just throw them all together this soon consistently.

Rafael--Rio-Vidic--Evra
----Cleverley-Ando----
Nani---Rooney--Young
------Berba/Welbeck

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Impressed with Young's reaction after Smalling's goal.
He called in everybody to get back to the game and go for it.
Seems like he has been in the team for a while now.
Loved the reaction after Nani chipped in his first goal.
Everybody involved in the move ran to celebrate...they knew it was a great team goal.
The crowd behind Hart's goal just went mental when they saw Nani running through on goal.Epic!

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

If Arsenal are really going to let Nasri go, I really, really hope we at least put in a proper bid. I know he'd be on more money at City, but we can offer him a better chances of first XI football (who is he going to replace at City?) and more prestige.

Come on Evra, get on your phone...

I'm glad Cleverly had a good 45 minutes, but he's still a vastly worse option than Nasri.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Hrm, Sneijder rumours heating up again...

----------De Gea----------
-Rafael-Rio--Vida---Evra--
------Carrick-Ando--------
-Nani-----Sneijder--Young-
----------Rooney----------

Just not sure what a massive improvement that is on the same, but with Hernandez/Welbeck/Berba up top and Rooney withdrawn. Unless of course Sneijder shows he can play as part of a 2...

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Theirs' no point trying to pin him down or our first 11 down, the amount of variation of formations and lineups are vast it would just add that much needed midfielder and a top class one at that. he would be the last piece of the puzzle in my book even if one puzzle is maybe not the best fit (Young IMO) it would seal a brilliant window.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

True, and there would be something very satisfying in buying one of the world's best players after one of our most successful 5 year stints in history.

We'll see. Happy to sell some fringe to pay. Obertan gone, Gibson likely to follow maybe Diouf next...

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Is anyone here live in Manchester? Can you please feed me a little information about the riot thing? Has it been contained? I am a little bit worry about those EPL this weekend.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Sadly, I gave up on Sneijder rumours...been too long, I gave up already. (I do hope that I'm wrong though)

Just that we do seem to have youth coming along (I'm not jumping onto the Cleverly band-wagon yet...as good as he is, its still only a pre-season tour, still need games to prove himself when it matters) we do seem to be able to cope this season with what we have.

Speaking of the Cleverly band-wagon, I've already seen a person here in Hong Kong with a Cleverly jersey....I hope that he can replace Scholes or Keane to be the player we need!!

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

once Honk Kong start buying.... he becomes legend! the People of China makes MUTD the biggest club in the World. I wish Arsenal had that support.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Some pretty itk journalists just come out and said United have basically told them that we won't be signing Sneijder - wage demands just too high.

Sad about not getting some real quality in the midfield, but also somewhat glad that we're not being ridiculous with money at a time when we can't really afford to.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Gotta love Kiko's accent.

And how f***ing cool is Berba.

1.19  had so many of those moments in my PES/FIFA history.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

My initial fears about de gea are coming true. Too young and inexperienced to fill van der sars shoes. Lloris or stekelenburg would have made more sense.

wtf :45 Nani has his hands in his shorts ! guess I`m not alone

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Give De Gea chance.

He's learning still, he made some good saves before and after the mistake, he's playing in an unfamiliar team, unfamiliar country without being able to speak the language and he's not even played a home match yet.

The good thing is he's still probably assured of his place for a while so he can get a run of matches and settle in properly.

Granted it shouldn't really excuse the mistakes he's made so far but it's not the end of the world.

Anyways I thought this was gonna be typical of last season away from home, start well (very well in this case) and then we give a goal away and either lose or draw. Thankfully Own Goal had his shooting boots on and we got the result we needed. Again the average age at the end of the game must've been ridiculously low again (Berba being the only one anywhere near 30 or over) so plenty of positives.

Not sure Anderson and Cleverley will work in tougher games, both are too forward thinking and left massive gaps behind them for WBA to exploit but at the same time both had very good games and in a midfield three with Carrick or Fletcher I think they'll work really well.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

De Gea is fine, big talent will make mistakes but hopefully after a season or two they'll be a rare occurrence.

I was quite worried once Rio/Vida went off, I had this feeling of frailty (a bit like Arsenal) as the team was extremely young, Its a massive challenge to throw the kids in as we are doing but hopefully it doesn't effect their confidence when they lose a game and such.

Cleverley and Anderson again showing great potential but we really need an experienced head in their.
