As far as my knowledge goes, Hernandez goals per game ratio stands at 0.68, the nearest player to that tally is David Villa of Spain who has scored 53 goals in 88 games
 
He is a machine at international level. It's remarkable. I realise some of the CONCACAF opponents aren't that great - but he could easily score 100 goals at that level.

Priority two for Moyes should be making sure he's happy.

I believe it will end at the end of the 2015/16 season and he will keep getting better, I think we can afford to ditch Rooney now, Kagawa is a better No.10 then him, Hernandez is a better Poacher than him and RvP is a better all-around finisher than him.

I'd choose those three and a new CM over a (undoubtedly very talented) jack of all trades, master of none like Rooney.
 
If we d sign a guy like Fabregas or Thiago as is rumored, I almost don't care who else we bring in. Though Ronnie or Bale would be dreamlike. We should play some U21players next year, its obvious we have some awesome players waiting to break through.

Agreed, I'm very happy that Januzaj was given half a chance to get on the bench last year and I hope he gets more of a chance this season.
 
Rumors of PSG offering 17m pounds for Rooney. I am amused. This is the club that spent how much on players last season?

Not that United are good negotiators, mind.

If Rooney goes for less than 30m and I were the Glazers I would fire whoever did the negotiating.
 
17m? Is that a joke?

In this day and age he shouldn't go for anything less than 40-50m.
 
If I were United and PSG truly offered 17m for Rooney, I would refuse to sell him out of pure principle, at any price, just for the sheer insult of the offer.

PSG paid something like 48m euros for an unknown Brazilian last summer (who is pretty good, but hardly one of hte most recognisable names in football).

I would argue strongly that Rooney should be priced in line with Ibrahimovich.

Also, Rooney just scored a belter away to Brazil. So that's something.
 
I can't see him ending up in France or abroad for that matter, he's staying in England no matter what happens.

The only thing I've said is we'd need someone of higher productivity on the flanks if we sell Rooney.

I don't think you can really compare the transfer fees. For a start Rooney is a lot older than than Lucas Moura, there is almost certainly no re-sale value in Rooney whereas Moura was 19 years old when he signed. Also Rooney's starting wages (salary he was/is on before joining) would be astronomical compared to Moura. Rooney is on around (or possibly more than) £200k a week whereas Moura was probably on a tenth of that. I don't know what Moura's on now but its probably a lot less than what Rooney would want if he joined PSG (even if he took a pay drop) so across the length of the contract Rooney cost PSG a lot more in this aspect.

These things and the fact his own club manager has questioned Rooney's long term fitness, means even if Moura hadn't been a sucess PSG could still have re-couped a large amount of money the same is not true of Rooney at all - if he fails at PSG (or his next club) then his value will drop drastically. Also Rooney only has a few years left on his contract, there aren't that many other clubs looking to sign him (Man Utd and Inter were both after Moura last summer) this means PSG can offer a low fee, if Man Utd want to get rid of him they'll figure its the only way to get a fee and PSG will sign him, if not then they (PSG) can probably wait for his contract to expire - the Rooney tranfser is more similar to Kawaga's one last year than Lucas Moura's one.
 
There are some (subjective) reasons why Rooney will never be one of my favourite players, but he still is the second best English player (Ashley Cole being the best, another player i don't like much).

And perhaps Rooney is even more important for English football because he plays in (several) positions where he can make the difference for both his club and country.

IMO Man Utd should do everything possible to hold on to the player Rooney, he is one hell of a player and IMO is the victim of his versatility. People mention Kagawa here, well Kagawa is one of my favourite players, but if i try to be rational and objective, i think Rooney still is a lot better than Kagawa.

The only negative thing IMO is that Rooney seems to lack the hunger, hence his weight problems. But maybe having a new manager might help...maybe Rooney just was fed up with Ferguson (this happens everywhere despite having a good boss, some of the people working for him just have had it with their boss and can't seem to be motivated by him/her).

Yesterday i read something Van Der Sar said about Rooney and i completely agreed. van Der Sar said that English football fans have always expected way too much from Rooney and that maybe that is why Rooney seems to have lost the hunger other players have.

It's time somebody with some empathy has a good talk with Rooney, he still is one of the 20 best players in the world and i'm pretty sure he still is an important player for United.
 
Do you think Paris is a viable option for Rooney though? either way PSG are just doing the obvious of starting low before trying to meet in the middle. I think the PSG interest is a good thing for us because I doubt that would be his favorite destination.

now Mourinho has arrived im sure we'll be hearing of his interest in Rooney soon.
 
I suspect if Rooney wants to go anywhere it's to Chelsea to be with his "best pal in football" Ashley Cole.

Can't see us letting that happen though.

Speaking of Rooney's quality, it's not something i'd ever doubt, his problem has always been consistency, he's the best example of a confidence player you'll ever see. One game he won't be able to control the ball, a couple goals later and he'll be a world beater.

IMO Rooney should stay in England. He might perform well for teams like Bayern or Dortmund, but not in Spain.
Rooney is too good for PSG. I still don't see PSG as a big club to be honest.

He was never hugely impressive for the reserves, but was very young and very small at the time. By all accounts he was a regular for the twice-league winning Molde team, and is now startin for the Norwegian U21s. But I haven't seen much of him in the last 2 years, so who knows.

Only plus is that he's still a huge United fan :)

Thanks, I remember him being announced in United as being very good but sort of lost any form of checking how he was doing!
