May as well win that for a change, considering we only won it once before.. Though winning the CL/CL predecessor for a 4th time, would change plans a bit.

Having said that.. I do actually hope City destroy FCB at the Nou Camp *suppresses vomit coming up*
 
That was much better!

possibly the start of something I hope, that front 6 in those positions is the way we need to go moving forward, was really refreshing seeing everyone so comfortable in possession in final third of the pitch.

Thought Mata grew into it so well and by the end was :... brilliant player, Fellaini I thought was very good for only just coming back and was neat and tidy, against opposition that actually come to attack though he'll need to be more disciplined and not go forward as often however was nice to finally see someone breaking in from deep with Rooney/Mata always dropping back if someone went.

Some slight issues such as Smalling not being a RB and Vidic being a bit calamitous but lots of positive signs last night, thought the system is the way forward with the players we have.

Aye, had to watch the game from the DVR but was especially impressed with Fellaini s composure and relative calming presence in midfield while pushing the ball forward every now and then. Yeah he looked like a deer caught in headlights with those two major chances that were handed to him on a silver platter but that's why he s not a CF, and its hard to expect him to hit ground at sprint speed after such a long absence. Smalling is surprisingly fast and and technical going forward but cant deliver a proper cross to save his life...Vidic continues to be a shadow of his former self..luckily the rest of the team compensated for the shakiness.

BTW that one two early on between Januzaj..then the back heel from RvP to put it back in front of Januzaj was drool worthy..was good to see Mata, Rooney, RvP and Januzaj finally getting to do a proper run in a non antiquated formation.
 
Shame we won't be able to continue that lineup with Mata cup tied, he was really oozing class by the end of that match.

I hope to see the same formation with Kagawa filling in for Mata and basically doing what he did against Palace. Still gutted for him, he's a hell of a player...
 
Will miss the match today, but hoping for a result of any kind. Olympiakos are apparently undefeated at home this year, and have won their last 5 at home against English clubs. Should be the proverbial cauldron.
 
This is a good team beach.
PSG really suffered against them.

Yes. Moyes is responsible for this monstrosity. It's his job to get the players playing as a team.

This is comically bad. I've never seen us this bad in a CL knock out match. Ever - so maybe 15 years or so. And we've had some shocking players in that time. We looked miles better with O'Shea and Giggs in the centre.

Surely the last straw soon? It's all I have to cling onto!

We've won 3 matches so far this year. We're 21 points worse off in the league than last year at hte same point, we've gone out of the Cups to Sunderland (over two legs in a f*cking semi final!) and Swansea, and now Olympiakos.

Every metric is worse. Every one.

I'm better with a football at my feet than Chris Smalling. You are too. We all are.

Playing Chris Smalling at right back is a crime against football. I hope someone calls into the Manchester police and reports that.

Let Rooney manage us. I don't care. Fred the Red. Paddy Crerand (to be fair, that would make astounding viewing).

How many managers have taken their team out of every competition by February, and are down more than 20 points from the season before? Seriously, in the modern era has that kind of thing ever been achieved?

Utd can score a few at OT against this team but I can't see you stopping them scoring an away goal.

This whole the PL is stronger than ever thing is starting to sound a bit silly. Only plus side is that we play at home next but then again.. That's become our new favorite play to sink to new lows.

Did Ashley Young really cost £15m? He just isnt a footballer by any definition of the word, this summer he turns 29, he has no future in the game at all - I've seen second hand transit vans worth more than him.

Even I now think it could be time for Moyes to go, although only if a genuine top class manager can be persuaded to take over, and for that to be the case it might have to be after the World Cup. Whoever comes in has a huge and I mean huge rebuilding job. Vidic is off, Ferdinand has to be thinking of retiring, Carrick is 33 in the summer, Van Persie 31, is it really worth trying to build a new squad around these players as it could take 2-3 years and these players will be even older.

Rooney, Mata and Janujaz have signed on/new contracts. That's a good 9 months of positives for Moyesy. Thanks, that can be your United legacy.

I can't get the image of Chris Smalling 'playing' at right back out of my head. Bring back Bebe!
