The Retro-PES Corner

(JL WE 9 AC would be a good candidate as well, since they are basically almost clones, but despite loving the JL I'm too fond of European rosters and ML. A good case could be also made for the first WE9 released on Ps2)
Sorry to answer to an old post, but I only saw it now.
I'm getting into JLWE9AC lately, I found an ISO translated in English and which has correct names/logos for all the teams (or, at least, for the teams I can recognize!) and I'm kinda intrigued by it.
I managed to zoom out the camera a bit and enable the 16:9 aspect ratio thanks to the Super Camera Editor tool and I'm actually enjoying it.
Still doing friendlies using Cerezo Osaka or Suwon Bluewings at the moment, still undecided on whether starting a Master League with it and if so, with which team. I might aswell choose one of the teams in J.League 2 (Kyoto Purple Sanga for example) to feel the thrill of promotion.

Hi,
can you share the ISO here?

Have any way to remove/delete the intro video from an .iso file? I tried to search on google but did not find an answer on this.

Just asking because the number of patched games that get stuck on Intro video on PS3 is a looooot. 🤣

Thanks in advance!

Here's the original link to the ISO file I was talking about: https://sharemods.com/0p4vl4rhpq96/WE9JLACENG.rar.html

I got the link from here:

I'm still trying to figure out whether I can (or not) insert kits for unlicensed teams at the moment.
If it's like WE9/PES 5 it should have dedicated kit slots for every team (unlike PES 6 and the following ones).

Is that version any different than this one ?

Copy all files from the iso except .pss ones (intros) to a new folder and after that generate a new iso (I use ImgBurn)

Honestly it's a difficult question.
I see in the video by Edson Ferreira that the version of the game he posted there has 99999 credits in the PES shop (I guess he's referring to the "WEN" points that you get awarded after each match).
The one I found, if I recall correctly, starts from 0 WEN.
It might be the same ISO but the Edson Ferreira one might come with a modified option file on top (a thing that the one I'm using didn't have).
I'll try and start a ML in the coming days and see if it has the modified ML credits (according to Edson, his version should have 999999 ML credits in the balance from the beginning).

For me, the perfect game would be:

Gameplay: PES 6;
Seasons: 2002/2003 - 2003/2004 - 2004/2005 - 2005/2006 - 2007/2008;
In-game music: PES 2008;
Menu Design: PES 3;
Commentary: Jon Kabira.

Hey guys !
Which pes/we would you recommend on PSP ??
I'd like to download the two we aokis 2010 and 2014 and also another pes or we , maybe 2008 will be a good choice and 2013 also
But I want some recommendations from you guys
Thanks !

It is a really underrated game in the series, its my personal favourite in rotation with JL2008CC :)
Bro I have played FL26 with Hollands simulation gameplay....yeah it all looks good....playing the game feels ok...but as soon as i start playing WE8LE its like I am 110% more focused and just way more into the game. My final verdict will always be...PES21 will always be a beautiful woman that lacks character, depth and soul.

2004/2005 was a year that best sports games were made.

1 ESPN NBA 2K5 - best basketball game of all time. - PS2

2. ESPN NFL 2K5 - best American Football Game of all time. PS2

3. EA's MVP Baseball 2005 - PS2 - widely regarded as one of the best sports games of all times.

4. PES4/5 and other variants - greatest football games ever.

Just unreal

I'd recommend later PES titles on PSP. Perhaps 2009, 2010 and after. Early titles felt good, but lacked features. It's basically X360 PES6, but because of a lack of disc space, not because of clueless ideas

Hi everyone. Can I ask how I can get the PES 6 fonts in HD? I mean the menu text.

I remember reading a solution in the past, but unfortunately I haven't been able to find that information again.

Yes the first one I tried was pes 5 and the gameplay was fantastic to be honest but it lacked content , maybe I'll go with the later titles as you said they had the soundtrack, master league and a lot of content , but the PSP itself is still a wonder to me, I never had it physically back in the days, it had a lot of good games and it's emulation is easy compared to a lot of consoles or handhelds

Maybe it's me who's seeing things with rose-tinted glasses but I think you're right on this.
The late PS2 era (let's say 2002-2005) is also for me the "golden age" of videogames. Maybe it is because I was younger and I had more time so I could play those games at a deeper level, thus having more time to "build" good memories, but the fondest memories I have about gaming are from that period.
If you also add that 2004-05 (the season featured in PES 4 and WE 8) was the season in which I witnessed the greatest AC Milan I had ever seen (despite them not winning anything!), it's easy to choose it as the best season for football gaming.

What a thriller El Clásico on PES 2011 (PC version)!!!

As you can guess by the on-screen buttons, I was playing the game on my phone using the app "Winlator" which emulates Windows games and apps on Android.

I don't know all others games but i was searching at least the best NBA2k version on PS2. I loved that version.
The ESPN version very often cames on the list with another late PS2 version of NBA2K (need to check on my sdcard)
Same as the Hockey game : we european don't really care about Hockey but always loved games based on it.

The 95 if i remember well Megadrive version got an update every year, and not only roster but gameplay wise that version is awesome.

Now to me the most underrated games "inspired" from Basketball is NBA Jam On Fire on PS3. It's like NBA JAM T.E. but with much more deep and surprise.
I downloaded the mod "legend edition" it's a blast to play. Addictive like never.

On 3DS with 360 degree movement is to try at all cost! The second screen isn't ultra upper important if you emulate it, you reduce it on the 4:3 bar on the right or left (if i remember well it's only the radar while you play)

NBA 2k5 on PS2 and NBA 2k11 on PS3, in my opinion two of the greatest basketball video games EVER.

Few titles to mention.

NHL 94' on Sega Genesis - also considered one of the greatest Sports Games ever Made. To this day it has large following, tournaments, etc. BY FAR the best hockey game ever made.

If you're into wrestling, then WWF No Mercy on 64, best wrestling game of all times.

Going off topic a bit here, I just want to list some of the other GOATS.

We may continue there @vegasheat , it's better. I'll answer on that thread.

Cheers

I 'have' WE Aoki 2014 for 3DS, purely because it's the only other title outside of PS3 that had J.League included. It confuses me to this day why they never included J.League in the PSP version, but I'd guess they just didn't have the space for it.

In fact, I scored this peach of a goal on it 😋 >>
