Gameplay

Made the following changes:
  • Reduced the effectiveness of AI controlled players blocking Lobbed Passes and crosses.
    • Specifically, AI controlled players were previously able to stretch too far when attempting to block Lobbed Passes and crosses.
  • CPU AI teams are now more likely to commit fouls during matches played on Semi-Pro difficulty and above.
    • This change does not apply to matches played with Competitor Mode set to on.

Addressed the following issues:
  • [PC only] Addressed some instances of visual stuttering occurring after performing Skill Moves during matches.
  • When requesting a Finesse Shot, the ball carrier could sometimes go out of their way to take it with their dominant foot.
  • The Outside Foot Shot Trait did not function correctly.
  • When two players make contact with the ball at the same time, the ball could sometimes fly unintentionally high into the air.
  • When attempting to Shield the ball when taking a touch, the ball carrier could sometimes move erratically.
  • In a rare situation, a player could disappear from the pitch during a match.
  • On rare occasions, the referee could incorrectly call for a free kick inside of the penalty box instead of a penalty kick.
  • The Automatic Player Switching setting did not always function correctly.
  • In Pro Clubs and Player Career matches, the Set Piece Specialist perk did not function during Free Kicks and Penalty Kicks.
  • Goalkeepers could have unintentionally performed a goal kick across the entire pitch.
  • When making a tackle inside of the penalty box, the ball could sometimes unintentionally travel towards the defender’s goal.
  • When calling a player short on a corner, the called player could sometimes perform unnecessary player humanization gestures.
  • When attempting to turn while Sprinting, the ball carrier could sometimes miss a touch on the ball.
Career Mode

Made the following changes:
  • Added News scenes for UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League draws.
  • Adjusted Player Career Player Objective selection logic to account for the difficulty of some Objectives.
  • Moved the unavailable player(s) pop up message so that it can appear during the pre-match flow instead of the Career Mode Hub.

Addressed the following issues:
  • Youth Academy players could disappear at the start of the second season.
  • Sometimes, a player’s Match Form could incorrectly decrease after completing a match that they were subbed in for.
  • In a rare situation when coming on as a sub in Player Career, both teams could be positioned in the same half during a kick off.
  • A Youth Player’s potential could incorrectly decrease if they were signed to the senior squad towards the end of a season, with no remaining matches to be played.
  • In Player Career, Match Objectives that were too similar could unintentionally appear.
  • In Player Career, OVRs could incorrectly display multiple values across different menus.
  • Post Match Interview audio could become corrupted when the Disable All Music for Streaming Purposes setting was enabled.
  • Training Drill names could display in incorrect places on the UI.
  • The Squad Hub could remain scrollable even when a pop up message appeared on screen.
  • When attempting to retire a player in the Squad Hub, the affected player was the one shown in the preview panel instead of the highlighted player.
  • Some international matches did not display on the Calendar.
  • The Player Performance screen did not always display 2D headshots.
  • In Player Career, the created Pro was unintentionally not being selected for some national team matches.
  • A placeholder menu was incorrectly visible when entering Game Settings during a match.
  • When Quick Simming a match, yellow and red cards could appear green on the UI.

That one is getting on my nerves.

I got to say tho - whatever they did with last patch - it made the game less challenging.
With Player Based difficulty on - im leading in the league and was winning most matches comfortably.
I cant really pin point what happened, but I had to ramp up slider errors to crazy level and difficulty to World Class. Which never happened to me, playing Fifa on Full Manual.
It feels good again for the moment, but Im afraid its all heading the wrong direction..
 
This is actually not an issue/feature on the PC version. The defense can hold a line there.
Agree. I tried to make a report on the EA forum about it/line height slider not working. I probably didn't explain it very well, so I'll go back another time and do a better write up but I just wanted to try and get something out there about it. Could make the world of difference if they fix it.
 
@Anth James Probably best to just save a video of it happening, along with the console you’re playing on - I don’t know if it’s unique to next gen and I don’t know whether PC is based on the PS4/5 version.

I feel like the passing through the centre of the pitch and the ping pong within the penalty area has ramped up, possibly since the previous patch. I played a couple of games yesterday and today that included some pretty annoying CPU cheese goals - one was against Palace where the CB (Andersen?) thumped a driven long ball to the left winger that took barely half a second to travel 50 yards, with the winger one touch drilling a cross to the striker for him to hammer it in. The whole thing was over in 2 seconds and there was nothing that could be done about it.

The other one today was some insane one touch stuff inside the penalty area from Liverpool, all just crazy crosses and lay-off volleys and extra passes before thumping it in. It’s worst with Man City but you see it vs Burnley and Blackpool too.

I think a big issue with the defensive side of the game is that it’s all about players reacting to the ball as it moves. Getting too hung up on your position and not on what is happening with the ball or your man. And when the ball is passed 8 times in 3 seconds, every single pass the defenders (the ones who try to move at all) will change direction, which means the inertia kicks in as they try to shift their momentum. The overall effect is the defenders are rooted to the ground, effectively hypnotised by the passes rather than tracking runs or staying on a man.

I just had a look and there’s a few people on twitter saying the same thing too. I hope they patch it out. It’s really my only issue at the moment.
 
Is there any slider you can adjust to make to goalkeeper come out on 1on1s? Can't recall this has been any issue in any FIFA before, it's more of a "PES thing" and makes scoring really unsatisfying when you are alone with the keeper.

really, this is such an unknow pleasant surprise for me. Do these changes really come true?! :SHOCK: :LOVE:
not that I like all the points but a lot of them!
 
I hope there will be a patch / Live Update to make the goalkeepers more aggressive to come off their line. It breaks the immersion if you are on a 1on1 and you get all the time you need to place a shot because the keeper is stuck on his line
 
i mean game based on same engine,same AI patterns and share same bugs. Net phisics and heavier ball feel doesnt make different game, its just detail...just my 10h experience with ps4 trial and now ps5 version.
 
Obviously both games are based on Frostbite engine. But I don't think they share the same engine.
We can easily notice the differences in rendering ways, motion capturing ways, physics...
Probably next gen uses a enhanced version of Frostbite. 100% bet "not the same engine".

This isn't for PS5 is it? The link says PC and Stadia. Disappointing as I was looking forward to some more fouls.

It is, it's just that the PC (and now Stadia) version has historically received updates a week or so before its console counterparts. The Stadia version is identical to the PS5/XSX version.

This is what i said, new ball and net physics features adopted to same old engine.
 
Can they now fix the constant errors in the media questions.
The amount of times the game has mixed the teams around, and asked me questions about why I have played players out of position - Sorry didn't realise for the last 10 minutes, I couldn't play a RB at CB when switching to 3 at the back.
And also being asked in September that my win against Leeds has now all but relegated them, how do you answer a stupid question like that.

The thing is though you have to do the media interviews, as they massively improve team and player morale.
They also need to do something with the training as well, needs a massive overhaul.. I get an A with every training session.
Players should improve over time with a training schedule, not I want him to do every session and massively improve.
 
Here we go, I rewrote it. If anyone has any video examples, send them through and I'll add in. I haven't had a chance to add yet. I'd be so pleased if they could adjust this.

Still feel that I'm new to FIFA so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or there's a setting I need to tweak: does everyone get the occasional exaggerated pass or through-ball that rockets the length or width of the pitch and gives possession back to the AI? The typical scenario is when a CB has it and I just want to play it out to a FB (wide open, no pressure), but a slight tap produces a ridiculously powerful pass or through-ball that either goes straight to the opposition or goes out for a throw. Have to say I see it much more when I'm leading in a match, and never when I'm behind, so I suspect shenanigans whenever it happens. (Offline, Career Mode, World Class, semi-assisted controls, modified OS sliders.)

Come on stadia users give us a foul update ..I'm actually ok with fouls on professional (more would be nice) but they are dramatically reduced on WC mode
 
More Fouls was a main request on Fifa forum, Career Mode section, which makes me think they actually do read and act upon posts there.
I started being a little bit more active in there. We shall see if we can push a bit more.
Maybe with this FIFA license up in the air they have to listen to users more
